Purchases - Send pricing requests to supplier for saved inventory
I hold inventory for a large number of products, many of those products can be made by more than one manufacturer.
At the moment, if I want pricing from a supplier, the only real option in Xero is to raise a purchase order. That doesn’t work well in practice, because quite often I need to request prices before I’ve decided who I’m buying from, or before I even have an existing supplier relationship set up.
For example, if a new manufacturer opens nearby, I might want to send them a list of specific items from my inventory and ask for…

Bills - Disable Make Payment Button
Your new "Make Payment" button and the Action column can not be removed/disabled in the Bills view. It is repetitive, distracting, and disruptive to my normal workflow.
I would appreciate it if Xero did not diminish my user experience as a paying customer in order to promote a new service it is offering.
26 votesAppreciate your feedback on this here, everyone. This has been shared with our product team.
They did thoroughly consider how and where this prompt was shown in the product, and I want to be open that we don't have any plans for enabling the ability to hide the Make Payments option from this screen.

Melio fees: User-controlled Contact and default account
We started using Melio bill pay, and it keeps posting the spend money transactions for Melio fees to an account it creates (550, not at all the format we use) and a vendor "Payment Fee." Every time I have to change the vendor to the one I want Xero to use ("Melio"), the account I want to use, and then archive their contact and GL account again. The user should be able to set the contact and account to be used for Melio fees.

Inventory - Add additional information to the Inventory Item List report
Inventory Item List.
Included in this report is the unit cost which is manually set. Would it also be possible to please add another cost field to the report ? I would like to see the last PO unit cost. Any variance would be used to update the unit cost if in NZD

Inventory - Calculating return on investment (ROI)
For businesses who have invested in equipment and generate an income from the hire or use of the equipment. The ability to calculate (through analytics or a report) the % 'Return On Investment'.
The data is already in Xero (cost of good/equipment purchased VS total sales), just needs a simple way to display this info and calculated in a % and/or just view the data simply and easily.
Currently have to create your own Excel spreadsheet and input that data from Xero manually. Seems a simple report/statistic to generate and would be incredibly useful for business who need to know…6 votesHi Simon, it's great to hear how automated ROI calculations would help your business.
We’ve reviewed your idea and moved it to Gaining support, which means others in the community can now vote, comment, and share how this would benefit them too. The more perspectives added, the clearer the picture for our product team, so feel free to expand on your workflow to help spark that conversation.
In the meantime, the best way to calculate ROI is to pull the relevant figures from the Xero Analytics dashboard and work it out manually.
Thanks for getting the discussion started and we’ll keep you updated on any progress.

Purchase order - US market, Date selector should be Sunday to Saturday
Date selector in Purchase Orders should be Sunday to Saturday
I’d like to request an update to the New Purchase Order date selector so the calendar can display Sunday–Saturday instead of Monday–Sunday, or at least follow the same week-start setting used elsewhere in Xero.
Most US calendars and business workflows use a Sunday–Saturday view, so this change would make the Purchase Order date picker more intuitive and consistent with other Xero transaction screens (like invoices and bills), reducing date entry mistakes and improving usability for US-based users.

Reconciliation - Ensure attachments on source transaction flows to reconciled bank statement
As a Xero user, I regularly upload supplier invoices and receipts as attachments to Bills. While the attachment is stored correctly against the Bill, it is not visible when viewing the related bank transaction, account transaction, or reconciled payment.
This creates a challenge when working with accountants and bookkeepers. During month-end reviews, audits, and reconciliations, accountants typically review transactions from the bank account and transaction listings to verify that every payment has supporting documentation.
When they open a reconciled bank transaction and cannot see an attachment, they often assume that the invoice or receipt is missing. I then have to…
1 voteHi Kelly, thanks for sharing this idea. We can see how being able to view attachments from reconciled bank statement lines could make it quicker to review transactions during audits and day-to-day bookkeeping.
At the moment, attachments remain linked to the source transaction, such as the bill, spend money transaction, or invoice, and can be accessed by opening that record. While this keeps the supporting documents available, we appreciate it's more convenient to see attachments directly from the bank statement view.
I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest from the community. If there are particular bank screens or workflows where attachment visibility would be most helpful, let us know as those examples help us better understand the feature.

Bills - Supplier name Lock
Bills:
For Credit notes, when you click the 'Save' drop down, there is an option for 'Save and add another' like there is for regular Bills.
Being able to lock a supplier/ 'From' when adding Bills, so we don't need to search for every bill, for when we have multiple bills under one supplier.
Maybe a lock button next to the contact name which can be clicked to unlock it when no longer needed.

Checks - Vendor details pull through automatically
I don't like the new vendor payment system. I want go back to the old system of paying by check. With new system you have to re-enter the vendor information to send a payment. Don't like it. How do i revert back to paying with my own checks.
1 voteThanks for your feedback on the new process.
At this stage, it isn’t possible to switch back to the previous check payment process.
We really appreciate you taking the time to share this feedback here 💡 It helps our product team better understand the experience you’re having and where customers would value improvements most.

Bills - Expand smart document feature to all international regional editions
In "The Long and Short of It" in April 2026 Xero released "Extract bill line items straight from Smart Document Capture". Although this says it is Global I have also seen elsewhere where this is only in the UK.
Release this globally. Also, instead of just having it be entered as a Spend Money, have these extract to Bills also.
This is the write up - can't confirm that we have it in NZ.
Your bills are now as easy to capture as your receipts. Smart Document Capture can now extract data from bills - one of our most requested…
1 voteThanks for raising with us here. Arna. Appreciate the confusion and have shared back to the team about the tags on that article.
Right now, Smart document capture is available in all regions except NZ and AU. We will be rolling this out to these regions over the next couple of weeks so I'll keep you updated here of when it becomes available.

Bill - Direct link to account transactions from Account field
Being able to click on the account code on an invoice and it will take you to the account transaction report so you can see what other invoices are posted there. Even more useful if you could do this from the journal screen too so you can see the balance on the account after posting
3 votesHi Sadie, we don't have any plans for adding a direct link to the Account within a Bill, however one option for quick access right now could be to add the account you want to keep a watch on to the Chart of Accounts watch list on the homepage. You could keep this open in a separate tab and quickly click into this account when you want to view recent transactions.
Right now we'll start to get a sense of the interest for this here.

Bills - Add editing capabilities to bulk edit and approve Draft Bills
Add further Bulk Action options to the Draft Bills screen. See image - so many identical low value bills.
Idealy I would be able to check the bills, and bulk add:
- Supplier Name
- Basic Description
- Default Due Date (revert to supplier default automatically?)
- Account used.
- Approve if eligiible after this.I find the 'approve' options are useless because the incoming bills never have enough info to approve until edited... therefore - edit options would be more useful.
2 votesHi Andrew, thanks for your suggestion. We understand that processing large volumes of draft bills can be time-consuming when updates need to be done one by one.
The suggestion here is to allow bulk editing of draft bills, so users can update fields like account codes, tracking, or tax settings across multiple bills at the same time instead of opening each one individually.
We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can keep tracking interest and share it with the team.

Purchase orders - Sticky header for actions
Action Bars across all views should be sticky so that scrolling up and down is eliminated.
For me...
- Purchase order/Bill/Invoice actions.
- Bill Batch Payment ActionsComment where this would be good for you...
1 voteHi Andrew, appreciate your sharing the idea for us here and how you'd like consistency across all Xero, however as features across Xero are developed separately it's best for us to get a sense of the interest in this for each place in Xero users would find this most helpful. I have updated the title of your idea to represent this for Purchase orders, you are welcome to start new ideas for each other feature you would find this helpful. Thanks

Import Bills/Credit notes - Provide universal template and click on checkbox to select bills or credits
Instead of uploading bills and credit notes separately, how hard would it be to upload them all the same, then you can choose in a drop down box or similar as you approve them if they are a bill or credit.

Bills - Ability to edit Person of a contact within a Bill
This idea ("Bills - Edit contact details (name, email, BSB, Account no.) when creating a bill") has been accepted by Kelly Munro on January 23rd 2026. HOWEVER it does not fix the issue of the inability to input the "first name" and "last name" in the Quick View. It allows "Name" which I understand could be a business name but it also could be an individual name. Currently I have to go and edit the contact details manually after the bill/invoice is created which is cumbersome and frustrating as almost all the fields are available to input via Quick View.…
3 votesHi there, thanks for sharing this. We can see there’s a gap between what you’re looking for and what was covered in the previous idea.Based off of the feedback here, we’ll use this as a way to gauge how many people need the ability to edit the contact person directly from a bill. While this isn’t something we have immediate plans to work on, we’ll start tracking interest in this request and will share any updates here if that changes.

Expand the layout alignment grid boundaries for custom pre-printed check styles
Hello, we use pre-printed checks that seem much wider than the alignment grid for custom check styles. I have the Amount and Date fields set all the way to the right (and the printer has no margins or spacing on the page formatting, etc.) but those two values are still left of the blanks on the pre-printed stock. The check stock is a regular 8.5"x11" format sheet and a regular B&W laser printer.
Unfortunately, this means the Amount ends up unclear because of the pre-printed dollar sign (see photo of a check I ran today). Thankfully the checks have been…
1 voteHi everyone, we appreciate you sharing this idea. We understand that having more flexibility when setting up check layouts would help businesses align printed payments with their existing stationery.
The suggestion is to allow more control over print field positioning and layout boundaries, making it easier to adjust checks to suit different formats.
For now, printer settings and scaling options can help fine-tune alignment when printing. We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and gather more feedback from businesses with different check layouts.

Invoicing - Edit Item Code without changing Description, qty or price
When copying an invoice, we need to be able to copy and paste in the item code without it deleting all of the description, qty and cost.
You can do this in classic invoicing, but when you do it in the updated invoicing it removes all the data on the line.26 votes -
Statements - Set supplier due dates based on statement cycle
Statements - Set up Vendor Statement Cycle Date
Update vendor settings to set a statement billing cycle to be offset from a calendar month. I have multiple vendors that cycle bills prior to calendar month end, and that impacts the month the bill is due. Xero's automatic due date will populate an incorrect due date if a bill falls between the statement cycle date and the calendar month end.
For example, I have a vendor where my statement ends on the 25th of the month, and the bill due date is the 25th of the month following the statement cycle…
1 voteHi Michael, thanks for highlighting this workflow.
Being able to set a statement cycle date against a supplier could help businesses that work with vendors who don't follow standard month-end billing cycles. Having that information saved against the contact would make it easier to align statement reviews and reconciliation processes.
I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If this is something you'd like to see in Xero, please continue to vote and share details of your use case. The more context we have on different supplier statement cycles and workflows, the better we can understand the impact of this request.

XIP - Modify "Available Inventory" Column on Sales Orders Fulfillment
Currently, it just says "Available" or "Unavailable" which doesn't tell you much. Instead, it should put the ETA date based on POs if the material is on an open purchase order for the product on the Sales Order.
Additional detail: In XIP, when you go to Sales > Fulfillment, it'd be extremely useful to modify the "Available Inventory" column. Based on common practices in other inventory management systems, there would be three statuses: In stock Out of Stock (displayed when no inventory is in stock to fulfill the sales order) Partially in Stock (displayed when some inventory is in stock,…
