    We use multiple tracking categories and at this stage it is not possible to report payroll on anything other than Employee group and even that is poor. Please include a filter option on payroll reports to be able to provide accurate reporting.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on this idea. We appreciate you sharing how important STP reporting is.

    The existing solution is to view the STP finalisation screen, as this information is included in the employee's STP summary.

    Something to note is that leave paid out on termination has several reporting types depending on the termination reason and leave type (i.e. Type U, Lump Sum A, etc).

    If you use the STP finalisation reports, you may like to view this in conjunction with the ATO’s guide: STP Phase 2 Reporting - Quick reference guide.

    Creating a new report for unused leave paid out on termination isn’t currently on our product team’s road map, so we've updated this idea to Not in Pipeline. The idea remains open for votes though so we can continue to monitor interest.

    I can't believe we are still waiting for some way to easily identify the amounts paid on termination. Can this please be reviewed. This amount is required for Workcover calculations, payroll tax calculations and also to identify is correct super has been paid (leave on term is exempt from super). Currently a manual process that takes more time then it needs. I have run the Leave transactions report that gives me the hours but no way to get the $ value. Even just add $ column to that report would be a stop gap solution.

    Please show amounts paid against unused leave on termination separately on the payroll reports. Given that super is not calculated on unused leave and with STP2 unused leave payments need to be separated, it would be great to have Xero report these amounts separately on the payroll reports.

    Hi everyone, as another step toward improving history of new invoicing you'll find you'll now see an entry when an invoice is sent, and the email address it has been sent to. 

    We appreciate this is something we've heard a fair amount of feedback on and we hope helps in your journey to using new invoicing. 

    We still have more enhancements on the way for history and I'll be back again when more updates land.

    Yes Joana, this is the biggest reason that I did not voluntarily move to new invoicing. It is absolutely disgusting that Xero have forced us to move before fixing this critical audit feature that we had on classic. Welcome to the list of very annoyed xero professionals.

    And yet we still don't have the email address sent to listed in the notes. And it says the invoice is edited when you simply approve it or email it?? Cmon Xero this is rubbish

    Hi everyone, thanks for your suggestions regarding consolidating the information provided in the current leave reports and the suggestion to include a running leave balance.

    We appreciate that the current leave reports in Xero require exporting out of Xero and manual work to track running balances. We hear that this can add time to your workflows.

    After reviewing this idea, we're updating this idea to Not in Pipeline. Whilst we can see the value to you for this particular report configuration, this isn’t an idea that’s on our product teams foreseeable roadmap.

    We know this isn't the outcome you hoped for, and we value your input as it helps us understand what matters to the community. The idea remains open for votes so we can continue gauging interest. We’re constantly reviewing the level of support for your ideas, so will keep you updated if the status changes in the future.

    Absolutely crazy that this is an issue in Xero. Why can't xero accrue leave on all "ordinary earnings" category pay items. Simple!!!! Why this was setup the way it is with only one ordinary earnings category to be able to accrue leave is beyond me. Please fix this!!!

    Thanks everyone for your feedback on the invoice print option. We know how much our customers value efficient workflows, and appreciate you sharing your thoughts on how the current "Print PDF" button works. 

    For those of you looking for a smoother printing experience, a helpful workaround is to set your browser to automatically open PDFs in your preferred viewer after downloading. This can save you a few clicks in the process.

    In the interest of transparency, a direct print PDF functionality that go through the download step isn't in our development plans.

    Hi everyone, we want to share that we've released a change to history for each time an invoice is sent.

    Invoice history will now show the primary recipient email whenever an invoice is sent. This includes the initial and any subsequent send of an invoice.

    We appreciate this has been a pain point for everyone that's joined in the idea here and hope this visibility improves your experience in invoicing.

    We'd like to confirm how this works;

    • This record is only applicable from here on in, there are no updates to any historical entries for sending.
    • History will show the email of the initial recipient entered in the 'To' field any emails that you include as a CC or BCC option will not be shown.

    We do want to highlight, that while the email will be recorded in majority of cases, there are a few scenarios our team have picked…

    Hi community, first off thank you for the continued interest and feedback surrounding this idea. We’re continuing to build on the bank reconciliation experience in Xero and recognise the ways this feature will help improve the efficiency, flexibility and transparency of transactions in your business. Our team have done a lot of exploration into being able to surface and match Credit Notes when reconciling your bank account in Xero, and this is now in development.

    We’ll shift the idea here into ‘Working on it’ and continue to update as there’s more detail of this to share.

    Hi everyone, our product teams are continuously reviewing and reprioritising their roadmaps for future work and although we don’t have any plans to change the credit application process this year, this is something we will investigate more closely in 2026.

    As we begin to explore work for enabling credit notes in the bill payments flow, we’ll reach out for input to help us shape the design and approach so we cater for the widest possible requirements. Thank you all, and we’ll be back to share when exploration starts.

    Thanks for sharing and supporting this idea - while I don't have an update specific to this idea, I thought you might be interested in the following:

    Our AU Payroll team are testing some changes to Payroll reconciliation. The idea to create an AU payroll reporting pack is highly associated with payroll reconciliation and we feel that voters here would also have an interest in payroll reconciliation. They would love to hear from you!

    They’re aiming to conduct some 1 on 1 interviews between 6 Feb - 16 Feb 2024, the interviews will last 45 minutes.

    The purpose of the session: Participants will be asked to help with testing a prototype concept designed to enhance the AU payroll reconciliation process.

    They aim to discover:

    • Whether this conceptual solution meets your specific Payroll needs, and if it adds value to your Payroll reconciliation process?

    As a BAS Agent, I don't use report packs at all as they do not allow inclusion of many of the reports we use as part of our working papers. Payroll reports are the main ones that are missing. Please include, it makes no sense that they are not included.

    Hey everyone, thanks for engaging with this idea about being able to attach PDF bank or credit card statements directly to reconciliation reports in Xero. We know this can help simplify the cross-check process.

    Right now there is the ability to upload statements into the Files inbox where you could create a dedicated folder for these type of files. However we understand the limitation in that this doesn't link them to report as you'd like here.

    Our product team are looking into possible ways to attach files within the banking space and how we might fit it into the reconciliation workflow. It’s early days, and we’ll share an update when there's more news.

    This would be a great feature. You can attach documents almost everywhere else in Xero. This is just logical to allow attachments to the published Rec Report

    Hi team, I wanted to share that the recent updates for the Reconcile page have now been released to all users. This includes a search bar at the top of the page and includes filters for date range and amount. This provides the ability to look up criteria of your statement lines and narrow down your search. 

    You'll also find you can now view more statement lines per page, with up to 50 at a time - You'll find more on this and other updates shared on our blog. 

    We appreciate the ask on this idea is a search across all statement lines, across all bank accounts. I want to confirm this is not something we have plans for developing at this stage, and I'll move this idea back to 'submitted' so we can continue to track and update you if there is any progress of this, here.

    Hi team, following on from my last update though our position remains that we don't have plans for making all reports available in report templates we wanted to share a recent change we have made.

    We have unlocked the ability to add client-specific custom reports to Adviser packs, giving you additional flexibility and more comprehensive reporting, which we know has been a key request for some in the idea here.

    As mentioned in our last post - we're very keen to continue to understand the interest in specific reports, so if not already please make sure to add your support or start an idea for a the report you'd like to see. Thanks

    Hello everyone, appreciate all your feedback here. To be upfront, we don’t have any plans to develop the ability to reconcile clearing, control and non-bank accounts in the near future. 


    Some of the technology improvements going on across Xero will create more opportunities for us to explore extending some of the more complex functionality from one part of Xero to another. However, we are some way off from this yet. 


    That being said, there is the Account transaction report that could be handy in providing a view of both sides of a transaction in Xero. You can include the related account as a column in the report - See more in our help article on this.

    Alternatively, if you’re using an external system, you could look into the Xero App store

    Hi Alex,
    The functionality as you have explained it does not sound like what I am chasing here. I am wanting to be able to tick off, line by line, in many cases in order to reconcile back to $0 so reconciling to a specific balance won't work in these sorts of cases. eg. Merchant clearing account, reconciles to $0 but usually has an "unticked" balance at a specific date that won't come in till a day later.

    Also, personally I believe that this is a critical element for any decent accounting software and am astounded that Xero has not seen this yet, so your solution SHOULD be short lived if Xero listen to their partners and users and see the relevance and importance of this functionality being in the core software.

    Thank you so much Heather Smith!! I must admit I hadn't seen Dana's comment until you referred to it in your post. I do hope that the powers that be at Xero do understand the importance of this function and how "in the dark ages" not having it makes Xero, which I know is not what they are going for. They cannot be "leading edge" without some way for us to manage this in the software. Surely exporting to excel and reconciling in excel is not a solution but should only be considered a "temporary" work around. Trust me, I have been talking the ears off any Xero person that would listen and I think I spoke to about 5 Xero people at Xerocon about this. We need to make our voices be heard but once again thank you Heather for using your contacts to also fight this one on our behalf.

    Yes please!!!! Seems crazy to have a fantastic feature like scheduling bills but only be able to access it from one location. This makes an extra 4 clicks and a process interruption in order to schedule bills, which could all be done at the same time as scheduling.

    to send an invoice via e-invoicing is currently very clunky and manual. It needs to be better automated and one way to do this is to be able to set e-invoice as a default in the customer contact card, which should then send via this method when bulk sending.
