Thank you all for sharing your feedback on how important consolidated employee details are for your businesses.
In November 2023, we released updated payroll reports which allow greater flexibility, however we understand this doesn't fully meet your needs
While employee’s date of birth and account details are accessible from two separate reports, due to the sensitive nature of TFNs, there’s no plans to include these in exportable reports.
While we truly appreciate your feedback and support in this idea, we want to be upfront that we don’t have intentions of combining all the data requested here into a single report that can be exported from Xero Payroll.

Hi everyone, we appreciate and want to thank everyone for feedback on the responsiveness of the new Homepage. This has been shared back with our product teams as they continue to develop this experience.
At this stage, there are no plans to fix the number of columns when using the Homepage. However, our team will continue to monitor usage on this closely.
One recent change we’ve introduced is that the Homepage layout can be saved at each screen size.
For example, if you set up and save the Homepage layout for your laptop and then move to a larger monitor you’ll see this adapt. However, if you ‘edit’ the Homepage and save the layout separately from your monitor Xero will remember the layout for each screen size. You should only need to do this once for each screen you use.

Hi community, as many will have seen in our updates about new invoicing we’ve been releasing many improvements to the new experience including keyboard shortcuts that will also interest many in the idea here.
At the end of 2024, we made an update so all date entry shortcuts will now also work within new invoicing. Along with this and listening closely to our customers feedback, we’ve most recently delivered some new keyboard shortcuts specifically for new invoicing. These shortcuts help users quickly perform common actions while invoicing to save the need of using your mouse and clicking around. Shortcuts include things like; different options when Approving or updating your invoice, being able to Preview, or Print your invoice, through to sending your invoice to a customer. Hi everyone, thanks for the engagement in this idea overtime. Being transparent, we don't have any plans for enabling the ability to work across multiple organisations at a time.
Allowing multiple organisations to be open in one browser session creates risk of entering data for one organisation in another that'd create a permanent audit trail in the wrong place.
However, as shared by some here there are workarounds;
- You can use separate web browsers or incognito windows for each organisation, or
- Create multiple profiles within a browser like Chrome.
Both these options provide safer process for accessing different organisations at once.
If we make any plans to revisit this in the future we'll update this idea to share with you all here.

Appreciate the interest in being able to search by description. While we're attentive to your feedback, I want to be open that we don't have any immediate plans for developing this atm.
We're staying close to feedback on how we can improve navigation for our customers when using Xero, and I'll let you know if there is any development planned surrounding this, here. Thanks

Hi Rachel, appreciate your raising your feedback with us here. While I understand the underlying improvement you're asking for relates to navigation we do request to have separate ideas for the change you'd like to see in each are a of the product.
As we continue to develop Xero our prodyct teams are creating more consistency in behaviours however this is also in consideration of user flows and roles. We cannot commit to making this change across all areas of Xero but it would be great to get a better understanding of the interest in specific actions you'd find this useful for that the team can take into consideration and we can keep you updated of. I've updated the title of our idea here for being able to right click and open a Payrun but you are welcome to create new ideas for each other area you'd find a right…

Hi Community! Thanks for your active and on-going participation in this idea. The volume of comments and votes highlights how important more granular user permissions are for managing your payroll processes effectively.
Improving user permissions and providing greater control over sensitive data is a key area of focus for us. While we have no specific feature to announce today, your feedback is critical in shaping the future of this part of Xero.
Because of the clear need you've all highlighted and our desire to investigate this further, we're moving this idea's status to In Discovery.
During the discovery phase, our product team will be digging deeper into the core problems you’ve raised.

Thanks for the great discussion and all the votes on this idea. We know that without the ability to set specific leave approvers, it can be harder to keep governance clear, avoid self-approval and ensure requests go to the right person.
While we’re not planning to develop dedicated approval workflows in the near term, we want to share a tip that many have found useful. You can help streamline the process by guiding employees to select their direct manager from the approver list. While all payroll admins and leave approvers are listed, this step helps make sure requests reach the right person and keeps oversight clear.
Your feedback here is incredibly valuable for future planning and we’ll continue to keep an eye on this idea’s traction. We’ll keep it open for voting and will share any updates if plans change down the track.

Hi team, thanks for staying engaged with us here. From your feedback our product teams clearly understand there are legitimate use cases and scenarios in which you’d like to be able to simply unapprove a bill.
While seemingly simple there is a bit of underlying work that needs to be done within Bills to enable us to build this functionality - As you’ll have experienced within the Bills list view - we’re in the process of uplifting the pages in Bills with updated technology that’ll unlock our ability to develop features like unapprove.
So, while it’s not in our roadmap atm, we’re tuned in here and will continue to assess how we may solve this as we plan our future roadmap. I’ll make sure to share any progress with everyone here.

Hi team, thank you for your thorough feedback in this idea. We appreciate there are different preferences our users have when approving invoices in Xero and just to re-highlight - there are now keyboard shortcuts available for most action buttons in invoicing to help navigate and quickly select the option you prefer rather than the drop down selection.
Though we understand it is not the news you're hoping here we want to be transparent that there are no plans at this stage to add the ability to set your own default for the Approve button in invoicing.
We will continue to track the support this idea keeps building and be sure to let you know if there is any change to the status of this idea, here.
