Xero Payroll only subscriptions!
It would be great to be able to open a payroll only Xero subscription for clients who currently don't need/use Xero for bookkeeping. For example, I have a small client who employees a few people but I only provide year end accounting services to which I use the Ledger subscription to complete the year end accounts. I currently utilise Sage payroll online for the monthly payroll reporting but if I could integrate this into Xero without the need for a main subscription, this would help me keep everything in one place. We'll continue to consider this and other ideas for customer statements as the platform evolves.
Again not a full resolve but another option that could be handy for some is the inclusion of the Outstanding bills link when sending individual invoices to your customers. Through this, persons of a contact will be able to view and get detail of the invoices they have outstanding with you at any given time.

Custom Report - Ability to Hide/Unhide Columns
Currently we create a budget for each tracking category (department).
I have created a custom report which includes the budget for each category. I then use the formula function to sum the budgets together.
I only want to see the formula column in the report outputted. (I realise that columns can be hidden when data is exported to Excel)
I understand that there is not a way to show a formula column without all the individual budget columns.
Enhancement suggestion: include a radio button for each column to hide/reveal that column in the report

The formula feature only appears to work for columns that are located to the left of the formula column.
Each column has a name, surely the name is the important element and not the position of the column on the report.

NZ Payroll - Automatically calculate four-weekly ordinary hours
At the moment Xero Payroll calculates OWE by using information from the pay template only. Xero Payroll also recommends use of minimum hours as best practice, and allowing the hourly rate to lift if the average is higher than minimum hours. Works well. However, many employees have minimum hours and work more hours regularly, but they don't always work the same number, they might have periods of more work, and other periods of less. AU Payroll - Assign hours worked from a timesheet to projects
At the moment I am adding employee costs (wages) into xero projects.
We have an option with bills to assign a project to that bill be awesome to be able to assign hours worked (with cost) to each of our projects in the timesheet section, and to set per line be good.

UK Payroll - Support for HSBC BACS payment files without a service user name
Add a template another file option for payroll. HSBCnet allows file uploads with a SUN however as Xero does not have this template it means only options is to apply for a SUN and increase costs of paying our payroll. We need a file that accommodates ACH CR BACs (non-SUN) files. Invoices - Show payment advice on last page of invoice only
When creating sales invoices in Xero, the cut away remittance slip (or "payment advice") appears at the bottom of the invoice, but if your invoice has several line items and therefore goes over one page, the remittance slip still shows on the first page and makes the invoice look disjointed.
We have played around with the custom invoice feature but because the remittance slip is in the footer of the invoice template, there doesn't seem to be a way for us to manually change this so that it only appears on the last page.
If Xero could build this feature…

Projects | Tasks & expenses - Ability to group estimated expenses
Xero Projects - Group estimated expenses
It would be helpful to be able to set up categories to group together estimated expenses. For projects with lots of different expenses but of a similiar type it would be useful to be able to group these to more quickly see the various costs of a project. For example, to separate out administrative costs from material costs at a glance, so there would be a 'category' into which we could put tasks, estimated expenses and expenses to distinguish from other major costs while still tracking individual costs against the specific estimate.7 votes -
Xero Me - Allow employees to self-service change of address
Xero Me - change of address - employee can lodge a notification through Xero Me to payroll for your change of address. The change could be approved by the payroll administrator and it immediately updates Xero, then an email would be sent to the employee to say the change of address has occurred. This would reduce administration time, spelling errors in address and encourage employees to keep their details up to date.

User Roles & Permissions - Ability to suspend users
It should be possible to suspend users without deleting them. This should cut off all accesses but should preserve the account /username itself. This is a basic functionality of user access control which is surprisingly absent from Xero. This preserves the user ID incase someone suddenly leaves the company or is suspended from duties for whichever reason.

Expenses Claims Detail Report - Include approver
I would like to be able to run a report on expense claims which shows who has approved them at a glance, like a payable invoice report . At the moment, you have to open each and every claim to see who has approved it.

AU Payroll - Show dates of leave transactions on payslips and reports
On payslips and in reports, I think there should be dates next to the following items so it isn't confusing for the employee and when checking reports. It makes it more transparent too.
Time In Lieu
Annual Leave
Sick Leave
Compassionate Leave
