Contacts - Show information on one page
The edit contact format has recently been changed and I now have to click through multiple tabs to edit and view contact info. This is much more time consuming. I would like to be able to edit and view all contact info on one page.
Hi all, returning now a few weeks on from our last update, we’re going to move this idea to Delivered! ✅
You'll now find a single page for editing contact details, with the added benefit of using the tab selections on the left panel to go directly to your chosen section on the contacts add/edit page.
Again, thank you for all your comments here - we know this has been a highly anticipated feature for community. Your feedback helps us to continue to shape the future of contacts at Xero.

A year ago they warned us
These changes are for Xero
Its a sad day for data entry

I echo this comment:
"I have seen no request to move contacts from one page to multiple, yet many complaints about this development.
If Xero focused on the requested developments instead of on changes that seem to benefit no-one, the to-do list would be a lot shorter."

Xero, you are not listening to your customers.
Restoration of the contacts to a single page, instead of multiple tabs is a must do.
System improvements should make tasks easier (less mouse clicks), not increase the amount of work to do the same task. Sort it out please! -

Agree with Bianca.
One page = good
Would love to hear from the so call users that think the change is great.
For goodness sake the one page was so much quicker and much more user friendly, surely you can see that -

Xero - as you seem to have difficulty understanding what your user want, let me put it simply for you :
ONE PAGE = GOOD !!!
MULTIPLE TABS = BAD !!!
I would rather scroll than make 100 clicks! Please put it back on one page!

You can eliminate the need for scrolling by reducing the gaps vertically between fields. You have a "compressed" view in reconcile. Please can I get it throughout.
I still have to scroll on the new one...
Also every other CRM I use has show/hide options on fields.
ALSO please can we get a "role" field, or a notes box pinned somewhere that won't get buried?

I hate hate hate the new contact form. Roll back the old one. The new one takes much extra time and involves far more clicking. I also leave fields not filled in and never did that before. Also the new form CANT SAVE the "SALES ACCOUNT field". This is a must have feature!!!

Best practice is to have all fields on one page to reduce the likelihood of omitting information. It was a smart, efficient process and scrolling was actually a FEATURE to ensure we looked down the page and completed everything!
Now, for every new supplier, (particularly in construction businesses) 4 tabs need to be accessed to enter necessary details - this is such a clunky and time-wasting, cumbersome process now. The only improvement I can see is the function to apply a Credit Limit to Sales.

Every new screen created now replaces one clean, easy to understand screen with several that need to be examoned closely to ensure they are correct. All this is doing is creating more work and more confusion in a system that was simple and effective
And from the response from Xero - we don't really care about our users -

Was the 75 fields and lots of scrolling the only issue you are trying to resolve?
If so, why impose what you (or your focus groups) think is best for the entire community? Instead, how about you give your users some customization options for how this page is laid out.
For starters, I don't need all 75 fields. I need a fraction of this, so giving users the ability to reduce the number of fields on their own helps with your goal of organizing data in bite sized chunks.
Secondly, give users the choice to use their own customized tabs, OR have a single page for their contacts add/edit page.
If they want to use your defaults, great. Otherwise, let people create their own forms that works best for their workflow.
Of course you're going to have some fields that are mandatory and cannot be hidden. But you're going to be giving "power" users the ability to be even more efficient.

Can we please get a comment from those people who are now delighted that their ongoing pleas to the Xero team for an interface that allowed them to click into multiple screens instead of having to endure scrolling, have been answered and staunchly defended? The Xero team has your back, people, it's time for you to come to their defense - both of you.

Clearly this is a PR answer. ONE PAGE means that you can tab between all fields. As small businesses, I'm guessing, most of us need that ability and that common *** fields like contact name and address and phone and email are purty commonly found on one viewable page. We don't really care what you are doing on the backend and that should not even be an excuse for why you changed the view. Just be honest that your largest customers wants it one way and you don't give a **** about the people that largely pay your salaries.

"With the new we’ve organised related info on the same page, and customers have told us they found the new design cleaner and easier to navigate". Seriously, I would like to know how many customers like the new design since there are so many of us here that want it changed back.
Clearly, they don't care what the rest of us think, this says it all:
"There’s no immediate change planned for this idea at present, but we’re continuing to monitor and take in feedback about the Contacts add and edit screen on the idea here".
They will continue to 'monitor and take in feedback' but don't make the changes we ask for to make our lives easier. It is obvious many of your customers are unhappy with the changes you've made Xero. Have you not heard the saying "The customer is always right"

Incredibly painful "improvement" - looking at leaving my 3 Xero subs in the dustbin over this. Subscriber since 2009.

I still do not agree that having to click through multiple tabs to update information is better than scrolling through one screen and updating all details at once. It is more time consuming do it through multiple tabs as opposed to once screen. It is not user friendly and I need to be able to do it quickly through one screen due to the high volume of data entry in Xero. I seriously suggest you consider changing it back to the old format.

I am sorry but I still cannot see any benefit to the user by removing single screen - Can you please ask one of the customers that tested the changes to contact me to discuss the benefits directly. Thank you

All information visible on one page with scrolling is better than multiple clicks to see/edit the information.
For example, when I'm editing a customer's account I can't see their address unless I click on another tab.
