Hi everyone, appreciate your continued feedback on new invoicing. As mentioned in my last update we've now added a new Xero Central page for new invoicing.

Along with updates to individual ideas on Xero Product Ideas, this page will become the single source of truth for key feature rollouts including:

  • what’s available in new invoicing right now,
  • timelines for features and enhancements going live in new invoicing, as well as
  • a comparison table between the classic and newer versions of invoicing.

We'll be updating this page regularly.


Relating to some of the more recent feedback there are some existing ideas that may also be of particular interest that you can join, like the ability to see the email the invoice was sent to in the history, or being able to see a timestamp, and reducing clicks and steps.

    I despise the new invoicing and hate that it is going to be the only option available.
    Keep classic invoicing for users who want to use it.

    I HATE the new invoicing layout, it's so unnecessarily fluffy. Don't rate whoever's managing the UI and UX.

    If you are going to keep the New Invoicing features this is one area that needs to be looked at.....
    The History & Notes show date & Times, Email addresses but the new Invoicing only shows the date NOT TIMES OR EMAIL ADDRESSES.
    This is something we find very useful

    I totally agree. Why on earth would Xero introduce a new version that has less functionality than the previous version? Except Xero does this ALL the time. This is fundamental.

    I like the automatic save function on the new invoices but I hate everything else. The user interface is ****. The lack of features is awful. I used to type the due date as +0 for an invoice due today - but you can't do that on the backwards new version - WHY NOT?

    I don't understand why Xero decided to create this "new look" invoicing system... what a way to really .... on your customers... years of entering invoices and developing muscle memory for where everthing was and it worked perfectly.... Yes!, all the features the previous invoicing system had should be by default included in the new one.

    PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE Keep the old format the new one is more work/key strokes and there are a lot of complaints I notice on the facebook xero users group.
    could you have a look and see what the users are saying (which indicates nearly all users want to keep the old format)

    Allow subscriber to remain on classic invoicing system as this meets their needs perfectly. The new invoicing system creates a great deal of additional work every day which nobody needs.

    Give us the option to use the Classic version of invoices as our default
