  1. Move the "add last items" in the invoicing screen. Half the time the Billable items button comes up first in its place, but then moves to a lower point on the screen. The problem is if you click on it before it moves to the lower point on screen or just as it does, you end up with the last invoiced items on the invoice that you don't want.

  2. In original invoicing the Chrome CopyTables extension worked to copy the data from the invoice into Excel for creating pivot tables; that feature doesn't work in new invoicing. We work with multiple vendors on a single project and it's significantly easier to place those orders by copying the tables from Xero into Excel and creating a pivot table. If the base code can't be adjusted to work with extensions like that than being able to export an invoice as a CSV would be helpful.

  3. New Invoicing - currently wont allow me to send an invoice (as a reminder for payment) if it is in a locked period. Which i don't understand as it is not affecting the accounts in any way.
    It is very time consuming having to download and then email from google, rather than straight from Xero as before.

  4. Most people using accounting software are keyboard proficient. Having to use a mouse to see and click on drop down lists is inefficient. This is particularly bad when applying payments to the new invoicing system. I can see you've updated this so that you can tab across when you're creating a new invoice - please extend this functionality to the payment field. (All we really want is for you to #BringBackClassicInvoicing)

    Hi Amanda, are there any particular fields you're having issues tabbing through in the payments window? We recently released a change so you can now type in dates rather than having to choose from the calendar.

  7. The Classic version of Invoicing used to inform you on the view of an invoice that was created from a Repeating Invoice when the Repeating Template had been deleted.
    The new version does not give you this information resulting in confusion and wasted time.
    Please see screen shots below.
    This is causing us a major headache as we have lots of Repeating Invoices that have to be cancelled and if a user isn't sure new invoicing doesn't help but allows you to go through the process of trying to delete the template again which results in an error.

    Hi Chris, we appreciate you raising this message with us. It's something our team have added to their backlog but want to be open that we don't have active plans for changing for the time being. We'll continue to monitor the feedback here and I'll share if there is any progress.

  8. Is it possible to move the delete button away from approve button in Sales Overview.
    When approving invoices, have too be very careful with delete button right beside approve.

    This will soon be a requirement in the UAE with legislation to be passed on this.

When the invoice has been approved and need to be emailed, the side by side view is great but I would like to see the invoice amount ex VAT, not the total of the invoice and it would be good to see all the body of the invoice as well, not just saying there are more items, you cant even click on it to see

  11. Unless I'm missing something, I can't seem to see the Item Code or Tracking Code fields on a saved invoice? They are there in Edit mode, but not when viewing a saved invoice? We don't need to include these columns on the invoice sent to clients, but do need to be able to see them for internal use without having to go into edit mode. Until we can do this, we won't be able to switch to the new invoicing.

    Hi team, apologies we haven't updated this idea sooner. Our product team made a change to the approved grid view a fem months ago, where now you'll see Item code and Tracking as separate columns once the invoice is approved to make it easier to review your information. We appreciate your feedback here and sharing through product ideas.

  12. This is a real issue where you have a customer with multiple delivery addresses. Here is a typical scenario.

    1) Customer has one invoice address and 3 different shops.

    2) The online ordering system syncs across the customer contact details, one invoice address and 3 delivery addresses (here is the first problem, Xero will only use Shop 3 for the deliver address as it is the last one synced across).

    3) The online system creates an order for for invoicing for a delivery to Shop 2 and syncs it across.

    4) Xero creates the order but shows the delivery address…

  13. Hello,

    When you go to add in a 'add payment' in new invoicing, today's date auto populates. If you click on this field to change the date, you HAVE to use the calendar and arrows, it won't let you type in a date.

    Can you please add this feature, like is available in most other areas of Xero?

    If you could also please allow any date format to be entered in his field this would be preferred, (yes like bank reconciliation dates, not like fixed assets dates which only allow 1 format of date to be entered)

    You can use the forward slash (/) or hyphen (-) as separators, making it quick and easy to enter the dates you need. Plus, all the handy keyboard shortcuts you already know will work in these date fields too, making the process even smoother.

  14. Please change the editor in the email copy, when sending an email & creating an email template, to a rich text editor. It would be useful to be able to bold/highlight particular lines especially when invoices are late & reminders are being sent

    Hi everyone, while we appreciate and initially provided a solution for the idea here within the new invoicing email modal, we wanted to return as after further testing this feature has needed to be removed.

    That said, we know being able to add basic formatting to your emails is important to some of our customers and while the tool bar has been removed you can still add basic html formatting to your emails to bold, add italics or underline text within the invoice emails you send to customers.

    • Bold = <b> and </b>
    • Italics = <i> and </i>
    • Underline = <u> and </u>

    We understand not all customers are familiar with these tags so I've added an example image that shows the different tags that can be added and how these will show instantly within the email preview so you can make sure you email looks as you expect.

    Hi Amy, although discount column may not be visible when you first use new invoicing, you can use the Show/hide fields option to choose which fields and columns are displayed - including Discount, and Save your preferences.

    Next time you create an invoice for a customer using new invoicing you'll see your field preferences from the last invoice should be in the new one.

We use two tracking category's depending on which country the transaction relates to, the category options are the projects in that country, if a tracking option has been added to the wrong category on an invoice and you need to remove it you can't leave the category blank, on the old invoices and other areas of Xero you have (none) under the category options which you can choose if it is to be blank but this option is not there on the new invoicing

    Hey everyone, thanks again for suggesting this. Good news – the new line item grid is live for everyone now.

    With this update, getting rid of tracking is way easier. You can just hit backspace and tab through the fields, or we've also popped in a 'No tracking' option in the dropdown. We appreciate your feedback through product ideas – it really helps!

    Hi team, while not a 'default' option for this within Xero, you could achieve this using a Custom DOCX branding theme, with an advanced invoice template.

    With the template open in Microsoft Word, you can add the ContactPhysicalAddress merge field where you want their Delivery Address to appear.

    You can add your logo and make any other changes you'd like, before saving the file and uploading it back into your branding theme in Xero.

    You'll then want to select this custom branding theme for your invoices.

    Hi everyone, we want to share that we've released a change to history for each time an invoice is sent.

    Invoice history will now show the primary recipient email whenever an invoice is sent. This includes the initial and any subsequent send of an invoice.

    We appreciate this has been a pain point for everyone that's joined in the idea here and hope this visibility improves your experience in invoicing.

    We'd like to confirm how this works;

    • This record is only applicable from here on in, there are no updates to any historical entries for sending.
    • History will show the email of the initial recipient entered in the 'To' field any emails that you include as a CC or BCC option will not be shown.

    We do want to highlight, that while the email will be recorded in majority of cases, there are a few scenarios our team have picked…

  20. Make it possible for imported invoices to be marked as sent when importing them.
    Perhaps an additional column in the template Mark as sent status "Y for sent N for not sent"
    If this is not possible the ability to bulk "mark as sent"
    this would eliminate the issue of individually opening each invoice to manually "mark as sent" to activate the auto invoice reminders
