  1. When using the new Avalara auto taxes, the options are now show every line item tax rate, even if it's except. This is not right. Tax Exempt lines should show Exempt, just like they did with the manual tax entry. My clients are confused why every line item shows a rate rate, even if it isn't being taxed. In the business AND accounting world this is not right. Only items that are being taxed should show tax rate.

  2. I hope xero has the functionality of e-invoicing to approve and send the multiple e-invoices in bulk.
    As this new invoicing does not allow it and make the task slower than the conventional xero way.
    I hope you'll add this suggestion on your product improvement and see xero functioning the next time around.

  4. Stop "Mark as sent" pop-up for every invoice. When making multiple new invoices, this pop-up occurs for each invoice made, no matter if reminders are turned off. This is new, started April 2024, and XERO support states there is no way to turn this off.

  5. The "Review and pay" banner misleads recipients into thinking they can make electronic payments, but we're not using e-invoicing and have it turned off. Another major issue is that it causes significant delays in loading or, in some cases, renders the invoice completely inaccessible. The banner in the new invoicing should be named "Review" rather than "Review and pay" or be editable to suit different needs.

It would be really useful to be able to have a column in the 'awaiting payment' section where you can mark the group (i.e. Direct Debit) so when you're setting up Telleroo payments / batch payments, you can easily see which one's are Direct Debit suppliers without either running a payables report or clicking into the supplier to see which group they belong to

  7. I can see multiple suggestions and several thread over a number of years regarding the need for an SMS feature for both customer communication and invoicing. When are you going to add this? The tech is readily available to you. Many other platforms offer this now. Please prioritize this enhancement! Thanks.

  8. Improve Text Formatting - Invoicing

    • Ability to change all text to caps, lowercase or sentence case (like Microsoft word feature) to enable more consistent, professional invoicing in less time. For example when adding multiple billable expense lines.

    • Ability to sort invoice lines by the headers, i.e. description (alphabetically), by price or amount high-low etc.

  9. We create multiple invoices with deferred income. Currently I can approve the sales invoice then under "Invoice Options" copy to a new invoice and all the data is pulled over. I can then adjust the nominal ledger to the balance sheet and approve that, then again from the "Invoice Options" I can add a credit note to the P&L. I can then copy again to create a new sales invoice for the date when the income is due to the P&L and create that and once again add a credit note to credit the balance sheet. I realise this might…

    Thanks for sharing your feedback and the detail on how you use invoicing here. Just to make sure I understand fully and can share back with the team - when you say you want to retain all the data. It is currently possible to copy an invoice to a new draft invoice for the same contact, however is it that you are wanting the contacts defaults to be applied to the new invoice?

  10. Invoice and bill due dates to default to issue date.

    As above. Basically when you enter the initial date of an invoice or a bill, the due date defaults to the date you have entered. This will save additional data entry if your dates are the same.

    In the case of a franchise where Remits are sent via a supporting booking software, the invoice/bill due date is always the same as the issue date.

    Hi Adam, there are a couple of options here including the suggestion that Geoff's provided. 🙂

    Right now, within Invoice Settings you can set a default for the Due Date, this could be based on the invoice issue date if you choose.

    It's also possible to set a due date for an individual contact within their contact record.

  11. I am having problems with Xero automatically changing my due by date when I adjust the invoice date. I found a previous post where someone had the same problem and it was marked as resolved. But that is not the case. We often draft invoices for a customer - with carefully calculated due dates based on the service to be performed. When I go back to issue and approve the invoice - the invoice date changes but I want the due date to stay the same. I have to recalculate now as Xero changes it. Can this be fixed -…

  14. When the Allocate Amount pops up to allow for Pre-Payments to be allocated to an Invoice, I find I am going between Mouse, Tab, Numeric repeatedly. We have a large number of Clients who pay weekly and build up a number of Pre-Payments. It would be a lot easier to just use the mouse. Allow for a Double Click in the box containing what is available, or Double Click in the amount allocated, or something - but there has to be a simpler method.

  16. New Invoicing - bring back the 'save and continue adding' button in drafts, a feature classic invoicing offered. When completing invoices with multiple lines it is imperative that it you can save during input without having to save and close. Especially now that the new invoicing is unreliable.

    Hi Meradene, as new invoicing also encompasses auto save there is no need to manually save your invoice. Once you've added a Contact, as you move between fields of your invoice Xero will continuously save any data you've entered.

    It sounds like you may be having trouble with this though and if you're finding you're loosing information you've entered I'd really encourage reaching out to our specialists at Xero Support who can take a closer look to investigate what's going on for you.

  17. Please be consistent with the location of the "Branding Theme" field.

    You have placed the "Branding Theme" field in different places, in the Quotes page it's on the right and in Invoicing it's on the left. Can you please put it in the same place consistently. As a user you learn where fields are and automatically go to them, so this is annoying.
    My preference would be to keep it on the left.

  18. Increase the character limit for invoice and quote terms for the standard invoice template.
    Currently the limit is 1000 characters and that is not enough. Please please look into this! It is so important to be able to have terms in the body of the invoice and very useful to be able to use the terms section for this.

  20. It's not possible for customers to update their own email address eg if we send an invoice or statement to an old email address and they want to change it. Would be good if customer could update it and we just verify it. Or some kind of automated form they get to speed updating it.
