Account Transactions Report - Hide Archived Accounts
The attached post indicates that Xero has delivered the ability to hide archived files by unticking the "Show Archived" box in the account transactions report and then saving it as a custom report. I have tried this, but it doesn't work. Every time I go into my custom report which should have the Show Archived box unticked it is always ticked and the archived accounts are showing. Could you please look at this again.
8 votesHi Sally, appreciate the image back to the earlier update you're referring to here. Is it possible that the custom report you're using was saved prior to the update and needs updating with any new setting changes and then saving again to hold these for future use?
If you're still finding the same behaviour, I'd highly recommend raising a case with our team of specialists at Support so they can dive into why settings you've saved in a custom report aren't being applied. Thanks

Contacts - Reinstate the 'Payments in past 12 months' feature
The recent changes to the contacts screen have done nothing but hinder our business. You have removed the "Payments in past 12 months" which is something we rely on heavily when managing our clients. There is now no way to see all payments by a particular client where there are credit notes applied or they have paid by different means (sometimes by card, sometimes DD and sometimes bank transfer) as we would have to search each account separately and manually pull out the credit note balances. Very laborious and this is information we use daily in our credit control procedures.

New invoicing | Copy to same contact - auto apply defaults
Thanks for allowing the contact to remain when copying an invoice over - but please can you allow the defaults for the contact e.g. Tax rate to pull through as well?
I have found when changing the account, or just adding a new item, that it is not bringing this in (as the little warning states when you are copying) but this is a real pain as you have to keep checking the Tax rate and amending when it isn't correct for that contact.
Please can this be fixed as it was not an issue in the previous…26 votesQuick spotting there, team. Thanks for staying engaged through this idea. I can confirm that this was a bonus change that has been implemented with the release of other improvements in the Contact field.
As you've noted, now when you copy an invoice and select the same contact it will auto apply that contact's defaults.
Our team are working to remove that warning that defaults won't be applied so you should see that go soon.

Contacts - Allow Negative Discounts
Allow Negative Discounts to provide a basic Tiered Pricing Solution
There has been a huge amount of noise over the last 5+ years about Xero not supporting Tiered pricing. This can mean many things, but the most basic requirement is Customer Price Lists.
It can be as simple as allowing negative discounts in the Contact Record...a negative discount would increase the price instead of discounting it.
Every Item Currently has a default 'Sale Price'.
Allowing both a +ve or -ve 'Discount' in the contact record solves the basic tiered pricing issue. This is a very simple solution to creating a…

Quotes - Delete multiple lines
it would be ideal if you could have the ability to remove / delete costs in the main information tab in a quote. Ie: If you apply a template with a bunch of costs but realise you need to change it - it would be idea to be able to select multiple costs and just remove them from the quote rather than having to go into each individual cost and deletling.

Bank Reconciliation - Linked hierarchy bank accounts
Can we please have a Parent and Child relationship on the accounts to ease cash allocations. At the moment we are getting 1 payment that covers multiple accounts.
We work with Schools and get payments from Councils and Academy's. These payments go across multiple schools and payments are currently allocated 1 invoice at a time.
It would be helpful to have a Parent account / Hierarchy account or to put the Council/Academy name within the individual school account on Xero and put the Parent/Hierarcy name within the "Find & select matching transactions" - "Search by name or reference"

Contacts - Show the value of an allocated credit note and the bill/invoice it's allocated to
On the contacts page you can see the bills and the value, it will either appear with the value in the paid column or the due column unless it has been allocated against a credit. Any allocated credit notes and the invoices they have been allocated to appear as £0.00 in the paid and due column. Now as we have to allocate the credits in order to include them in a bulk payment (a completely pointless time consuming exercise still not addressed by XERO! but lets not get side tracked by another basic function missing) the fact the values are…

VAT - Support multiple VAT accounts for control and suspense
Can the VAT account be split into two, a method that Sage utilises?
A vat control account and a VAT suspense account.
The VAT suspense account will show the balance of the Dr or Cr of vat payable or owing from transactions included in the VAT return, this is where the Vat payments to/from HMRC are posted.
The VAT control account shows the balance of transactions where input/output VAT has been realised from invoices raised/received, but are not yet included in the VAT return typically because the the company is operating the VAT cash scheme.
These two accounts…
2 votesHi Robert, being upfront this isn't something we have any intentions of changing in the near term. We will continue to track interest in your idea here for the time being but would be quite a fundamental change to the way tax works in Xero.

Find & Recode - Ability to change multiple accounts at once
It would be great if we could have an option to use find & recode to change to several accounts at the same time (similar to cash coding), rather than having to use the function over again each time. For example, if a client codes many transactions to general expenses, it would be useful to have a single screen where you can change the coding, with a column for "Current Account" and a second column for "New Account".

Income and Expenses by Contact report - Filter by account
Please add chart of account codes as a filter on the Income and Expenses by Contact report
2 votesHi team, upon re-reviewing your idea here - while there is no filter for Account on the Income & Expenses by contact report atm, you can use the Account Transactions report to get what you're asking here.
You can select the specific accounts you'd like to view results for, Group or Summarise by Contact and add a Filter for Source to only select the transaction types you'd like to see results for.
If you find this report useful you could then Save it as custom so you can easily access it with your filters in the future. 🙂

Account Transactions Report | Paid or Unpaid Bills / Invoices
I wish to see if invoices are paid on unpaid when pulling account transaction reports.
Accounting - Account Transaction Report - Columns - (add if we can see if bill/invoice paid or unpaid)
There is no way currently when pulling this report to see if the bills are paid or not.
7 votesApologies for not seeing your response here sooner, Jayden. Thanks for sharing that image. I do hope you've got your answer already but to confirm for anyone viewing here - That screenshot appears to be the Account Transactions report.
To view paid or unpaid invoices or bills you'll want to run the Receivable or Payable Invoice Detail reports. This is a slightly different report to what you're looking at and can be found in the Payables and Receivables section of the reports centre.
