  1. Have the ability to set the relevant Award Rates and applicable grade so the pay rates gets automatically updated each year when the award rate changes, rather than having to manually make the changes.

    As you may have seen in our Xero Blog post, we’ve rolled out support for start and end times in timesheets, and with this update comes the ability for staff to add in notes 🎉


    As such, I'll be marking this one as delivered !

  3. What I need is for it to look like the Payroll Employee Summary, but with additional columns for Annual & Personal leave taken and the value of that leave.
    The report you are telling me is to messy to read.

  4. When you view a payrun, the breakdown at the top shows: Earnings, Taxes, Superannuation, Net Pay, Status & Payment Date.
    When you view the details for any of the employees there is an additional field for Reimbursements at the top of the screen.
    It would be great if the reimbursements total was also shown on the pay runs summary screen to quickly review and identify the total.
    Especially when the clients run their own payroll and we are just reconciling.

  5. Could we include a notification when a staff member has a birthday? This has multiple benefits including allowing us to check if their award salary or benefits need to change and also be able to congratulate them on their birthday. Surely it wouldn't be a huge change to make but would be a unique and helpful change for many SME as I currently need to create a new Google calendar for staff birthdays, creating additional work especially when we have 50+ staff and low retention in hospitality. Thank you.

    Appreciate the interest through the idea, but want to be open that we don't have any development planned for adding reminders or notification of an employees birth date atm. 

    I see there are some supporters from NZ and UK in the idea here and wanted to point you across to these specific ideas for each region that I'd encourage adding your support for - Each version of Xero Payroll has been developed specifically for the that regions tax and reporting obligations and this would need to be developed for each version separately. Thanks

  7. In the Payroll software, we can only allocate Direct wages to the cost of sales. Unfortunately, that doesn't include Employer NI nor Employer Pension cost in the cost of sales.
    Such coding would be useful, as we now use Birghtpay to do such coding.
    Without this feature, the gross profit margin and overheads are incorrect.

  8. I have different managers responsible for different employee timesheets so therefore I would really like the ability to authorise specific managers to employees. Am still using mostly paper timesheets because of the massive deficiencies in the XeroMe ones (think is one of the many reasons).
    I don't think its appropriate that anyone authorised can access all timesheets as it does nothing but create confusion and the potential to authorise the wrong ones. Also unnecessarily time consuming.

    Is it possible to please add some tickboxes/controls to remove this hurdle?

  9. Flag duplicate leave entries on the same day
    We are extracting leave data through API to manage resourcing including leave booked. We have a few cases of employees with duplicate leave on the same day entered and approved in error. It would be great to see a flag or warning pop up to approvers and payroll admins where more than a standard number of hours leave is applied to a given day. The number of hours comprising a working day could ideally be set for each employee.

  10. Automatically accrue RDO hours after a certain amount of hours logged.

    Job management systems push 80 hours over as a timesheet in Xero.

    We would like the total combined hours logged (ordinary hours, annual leave, RDOs, personal leave and public holidays) in excess of 76 hours to automatically be converted to RDO hours.

    E.g: If I log 80 hours ordinary time, I accrue 4 hours RDO.
    E.g: If I log 78 hours ordinary time, I accrue 2 hours RDO.
    E.g: If I log 80 hours annual leave, I accrue 4 hours RDO.
    E.g: If I log 72 hours ordinary time…

SUPER NON Regulated Super Fund Set Up - There are many Non Regulated Super funds out there and Xero only provides a list of Regulated Super Fund name to choose/ set up under payroll settings so when an employee has a NON Regulated Super Fund you can not set up or choose in the Employee card. The current work around is to Choose another Super Fund name (fraught with danger) in the Employee card then make manual payments. Making manual payments is not an issue however, choosing another Super fund name that is not correct is not an appropriate work…

  12. The new Payroll Activity and Summary Report is not as user friendly as the old one. It was much easier to read and find your employee name and net amount due on the older version. I also don't like how half an employees details can be on one page and the rest on the next page. I would like to revert to the old style, if possible?

  13. As we don't have the ability to turn off automatic posting of payroll, can you add nominal codes for ER NI & ER Pension, other analysis fields to employees records rather than at Company level to allow easier analysis and posting of payroll journal.
    There is a field on the employee record to enter the nominal code for their wages cost so why can't there be more fields for different codes?

  15. Since the latest Payroll update there seems to be no functionality in Xero to change how the name of the Employee Summary report appears when saved. There are too many _ between words, for example: JoeBloggsPtyLtd-PayrollEmployee_Summary 4 June 2024.

    So frustrating. Bring back the old style PDF format.

    Hi team, we're developing more ways to pay with Stripe!

    Soon you'll have the option to offer Afterpay as a payment method to your customers which we know is important to all of you who've voted on this idea.

    I'll round back to confirm when it's live and more detail of how to do this. 🙂

  18. For the payroll drop tap it would be good if we could have notification numbers next to say leave request and timesheets. Like the notifications of expenses.
    This helps to keep track on all leave submissions and what's approved.

  19. When downloading the individual payslip it would be nice if the PDF would say the persons name rather than the default filename of Payslip (1) etc
    Other payroll software such as Shape does this. Shame that Xero doesn't

  20. Could the user have access to the calendar in payroll to allow them to manually input other dates that are important but not automatically fed into the calendar and also set up reminder alerts?

    Sage allowed you to this which was really useful if you had to remove/add a benefit on a certain date.
