Invoicing - Remove 'Powered by Xero' in Footer of emails
Remove 'Powered by Xero' Advertisement on the footer invoice emails (only recently added)
102 votesHi everyone, we wanted to return and give you an update here. As mentioned in our last post - we want to be forth right that we don't have any plans to remove 'Powered by Xero' from emails sent from Xero, with intentional purpose and based on findings from interactions we can see having true benefit to customers in getting paid faster.
That said, we appreciate the feedback we've received and have made changes since this was initially raised to reduce the size of the footer where this is shown and have removed the hyperlink to xero.com. We will continue to develop the invoice email to continue to drive improvements for our customers and the ways you receive payments.

UK Payroll - Ability to process prior year employment allowance claims through Xero payroll
At the moment this isn't an available feature, and HMRCs basic PAYE tools need to be used. It would be good to see this as an option in Xero.

Sales Invoice - Collate lines of a single invoice when exporting
When exporting invoices if an invoice has multiple lines in Xero it also appears with multiple lines on the exported Excel.
Can we have some way to collate the invoice lines onto one line on the excel?
Currently when exporting a bulk amount of invoices we have to manually combine lines on the spreadsheet for the same invoice. This can take a lot of time and often lead to mistakes as manual calculation is needed to get the correct invoice amount.

We don't have any plans for changing the format of the export right now, however it sounds like this is a common action for you, and it'd be good to better understand the use case that we can share with the team.

Xero Expense report - Ability to add column for user that created the expense
To produce a report that shows all expenses entered via the expense claim feature for a specific period, which also shows who entered the expenses and details of the claims?
This is a useful feature required for comparing budgets and forecasting future cash flow expectations.

New Invoicing - Open attached files in the current window
open attached files (especially PDFs) in the current window (same as old invoicing), not in a new tab which is automatically happening with new invoicing.
is frustrating as you now need to go back and forth between tabs if you want to transpose info from the attachment into the invoice.

Our team have released a change, and you'll now find when you 'view' a file attached to an invoice this'll now show a side by side view so you can transcribe any detail as needed from the attachment to your invoice. ✨

Purpose : Invoice reminder email would not be treated as spam with company logo in the email
17 votesHi everyone, super quick turn around here 😁I'm happy to share that the changes for invoice reminders have been pushed live and you should now find invoice reminder emails will include your company logo. This is pulled from the organisation settings, so if you'd like to revise your logo you can do this through the organisations settings page.

Payment services - Square Payment Terminal integration
I would like the Square terminal (The portable device) to link payments to Xero invoices and automatically log them as paid as in the square link that goes out with email invoices

If this is still an important feature for you, you could restart the idea in the forum to see if it gets renewed interest from community.

Quotes - Packing slip template
When invoicing, there is a drop down arrow/menu next to the "Print PDF" button, where you can select 'Invoice' or 'Packing Slip'.
We need this feature to be available in the quote for printing a picking slip / delivery docket.
Is it possible to add this functionality?
22 votesThanks for raising and supporting the idea here, community. Being open this isn't something we're looking to develop into Quotes for the time being. However, if needed you could have two branding themes, with a different Quote template: one for the quote itself, and one for a packing slip.
You could then edit the quote, and switch the branding theme to the one you want to send out.

New Invoicing - Make it work with Projects
The new invoicing doesn't work properly with Projects! A disaster for me this morning - trebled the time it takes to do my weekly Projects invoices. When it falls over because it can't find the GL Code to use, and doesn't even have subtotal and total fields....did someone forget about that when they were adding all the new empty space on the screen and screwing the work flow up?

I see you've also come into our Xero Support team and they've suggested booking a time to connect and share screen so they can see the behaviour occurring for you. New invoicing - Auto adjust the column width when additional columns are added
On the new invoicing, when additional columns are selected, a scrollbar is added to the invoice layout and interrupts the smooth capture process. Having to manually scroll from one side to the other to view details is not ideal.
Consider either auto-adjusting the column widths or allow for the automatic expansion of the invoice layout width when additional columns are selected. This way, users could view all necessary details without the need for manual scrolling.

I'm now pleased to share that we've released a new line item grid within invoicing that embodies a lot of changes our customers have been asking for. Most importantly to the idea here, our teams have optimised the padding, text size and columns width to make this more compact so you can see more detail without the need to scroll.
You'll also find that all fields now wrap rather than truncating so you can see all the detail of your cell. Thank you all for contributing and engaging with us, here.

Sent check box checked by default after approving an invoice
It would be nice to have an option in the invoices settings to have approved invoices automatically marked as sent.
This would be mainly for users that send their invoices with another program, so the invoices they enter in Xero are always sent.1 vote -
Aged reports - View Credit note allocations
Just looked at the new Aged Payable report > Aged Payables Detail - it doesn't show credit notes which been allocated to invoices. This is very confusing as we can't reconcile against the statement. Please review the report and add in credit notes, even if they have been allocated to the Invoices, or advise which report I need to use when reconciling the account.

New Invoicing - Separate Email button, instead of a 2-click selection
The email invoice button on the new invoice template has moved from a main button to now being in a sub menu in the three dots, adding a click to the work flow.
But Print PDF is still a button on the main invoice template.
In an era where email is preferred over a printed PDF in the post, it would be nice to retain both EMAIL and PRINT as main buttons on the new invoice system. Thanks for all sharing your flows and the efficiency you found in being able to easily select to email your invoices. Listening to our customers feedback we know improvements to reduce the amount of clicks for actions in new invoicing is important.
We’ve just delivered a range of keyboard shortcuts to new invoicing, that cut down the number of mouse clicks and help you perform actions on your invoice with some simple keyboard entry.
Now you can easily bring up the send modal within a Draft, Awaiting Payment or Paid invoice by typing Alt-Shift-M (or Opt-Shift-M on a Mac)

Payment Services - Option to add Zip as a 'Buy Now, Pay Later' payment service
It would be great if Zip could be categorised correctly as a "Buy Now, Pay Later" service, rather than "Credit Card" payment service. This would allow us to integrate it with xero invoices along with Stripe for example. Currently they come up in the same category so we can only choose one. Maybe it's time to add a buy now, pay later category for after pay etc as well.

Billable Expenses - Files to copy through to the Sales Invoice
Ability to have a copy of billable expenses to the sales invoice.
Purpose: Save them time from having to send another email of copies of the expenses.

Customer Statement - Attach additional documents
It would be great to be able to attached documents to statements like we do with invoices/quotes. ie a general company letter, holiday notifications etc. instead of sending the client 2 emails.
I have an urgent document that need to go out with this months statements.

Contacts - Set default settings when adding new contacts
Have the ability to set default settings for every new Contact you add to Xero.
Our default tax will always be Tax Exclusive for example. We should be able to set this as the default to all new contacts added, as well as:
Default account
Currency
Invoice Theme
Invoices Due DateCheers

Ability to have an alert in Xero when an invoice has been paid.
Purpose: Users can easily be reminded. Which will make it easier for them to order the product/stock for their business when they know that they have been paid.
