  1. I have voted for the idea "Switch Rules - Notes to Financial Accounts" but would like to also propose an idea that may be of benefit if that one is too complex to implement.

Enable a rule that allows an account to be shown/hidden depending on the balance.

For example - if Accounts Receivable is a credit balance then it will display, if it has a negative balance it is hidden.
That means that the Accounts Receivable account could be added to two schedules in the report, but will only show in one, which should align with…

Appreciate you thinking of other ways to solve something, Jessica. With a lot of the reporting teams concentration on elements to redevelop the most vying features from older reports in the new before their removal later this year I want to be open that we don't have this in pour plans at this stage.

We'll start to get a sense of the interest for this here, and let you know if there are any changes.

  2. The "Planned Dates" feature in Bills to Pay works extremely well. Key element is that you can bulk update dates as required from a multiple selection.

The "Expected Date" feature has the same potential but also needs to be able to update invoice "Expected Dates" in bulk.

Invoices cannot be updated in bulk from Short Term Cashflow if a part-payment has been made against that invoice. Also, you can't update invoices Expected dates if they are not due yet.

Thanks for the detail of why the Short term cashflows option is not viable for you here, Karl.

We don't have any immediate plans around this but will keep an eye on the appetite here and let you know if there's any plans made.

  3. Stop messing around with things that people haven't asked for and actually look at implementing things that have been asked for.
The new look for customer and sales ledgers is awful. Why change it?
When it comes to being easy to reconcile supplier ledgers Xero is already miles behind it's competitors but you've somehow managed to make it even worse!
For example if there is an overpayment that you part allocate against a bill and then refresh the screen it shows that the bill is paid but the overpayment still shows that the full amount is to be used, it…

  5. If you have multiple invoices for the same client, a feature that allows you the option to automatically apply bank transactions receiving money from the client to the oldest invoices first moving closer to date would be mighty helpful. At the current moment, we have to manually split out each transaction to the invoices when reconciling bank transactions; it stands to reason that if you have a client with multiple invoices and they pay off in chunks, you would want to apply payments to their oldest debt first; having this as a selectable option for a contact / bank rule…

  6. In timesheets, when you enter a new entry by hitting the + be good is the start of time could auto default to the end of time for the last timesheet entry you made, but you could still over type this if you wanted. Currently you have to keep looking and there is danger you could over lap or miss some time and it is time consuming.

  7. Ability to filter draft invoices by Contact Groups.
We have a large number of customers who are moving toward shared accounting services (ie: centralised payment of our invoices). It would be great to be able to filter draft invoices by the Contact Group, or at the very least be able to see the contact group with the customer name on the draft invoice screen

  8. Report dates
On financial reports. Instead of last financial year of this financial year wouldn’t it be better to have the years as the selection ie 2024/25 2023/24 2022/23. it will be much quicker to select the year especially is going back further than the current year.

Thanks for sharing here, Kerri. Understand why you'd find this helpful and we'll start to get a sense from others that'd like to see this here, too.

I know it's a little different to what you're directly asking here, but perhaps comparison columns and saving as custom could help where you can run the report for multiple date ranges at once and view the comparison across each?

  9. When sending an invoice to a new customer using the new invoicing you can only add one address line before the Town/City field. With the old invoicing you could add multiple address lines before the Town/City field (as you can also do with their Contact page and clicking edit).
With new invoicing this is difficult. Every time you need to add an address to a new invoice going to a new contact within the invoice screen then you only have one address line above the town/city field.
To add more address lines above the town/city field you need to amend…

Hi team, we’ve made and released some recent enhancements to the ‘Contact’ field and contact card within new invoicing.

Hearing your feedback here, we added more address lines to the contact card within new invoicing so you can add your full customer’s delivery or billing address on the fly. You’ll also see you can quickly look up and select addresses for your contact, as well as edit or add the Attention to without needing to go to the contact record. Thanks for your interest with us here.

  10. In the Classic Invoice you can select an overhead or expense as the account to raise an invoice against. This is useful where you are incurring costs that will be charged out at a later date. In the new Invoice version you cannot do that.

  11. An updated, functional VAT reconciliation report.

The existing VAT reconciliation report isn't particularly useful. It has to be populated manually and the figures that do populate automatically can't be drilled down into. Not helpful.

VAT reconciliation aren't really a problem for us as we can use the Detailed Account Transactions report to identify the transactions posted directly to the VAT account i.e. transactions that have a category of VAT, whether it be a VAT payment, VAT on imports or just simply a miscoding by the client. Essentially it highlights those transactions that will affect the VAT ledger balance but won't…

  13. I've noticed when an account gets a negative balance (such as an asset) that the balance sheet moves it to liabilities. I also noticed that, although I put "Other Income" at the end of the account list (with a account number of 7000) it still shows up in the income section. Proper accounting reports show "Other Income" and "Other Expense" at the bottom of the balance sheet. Additionally, if an asset account gets a negative balance for some reason it should NOT be moved to liabilities. Please fix this.

    Thank you

  14. Ability to allow a 13 month accounting period.

Hi everyone, we have some updates in the UK with the bill payments method with Crezco. You now have more control of your cashflows with the ability to schedule bills to be paid at a future date using direct bank transfer. This helps to avoid potential bank charges for same day transactions, and missing due dates. Along with this you'll also be able to stay up to date with your payments with real-time payment status in Xero. Meaning you don't have to log into your bank to check the status of each bill payment. With an overview of all payments made using direct bank transfer, you have an accurate record of which suppliers have been paid, and when.

We know there are users from others regions also interested in the idea here and we'll share if there are any updates for expanding similar functionality in other places.

  16. Currently, it seems that business owners with more than one company need to purchase separate subscriptions for each entity.

Whilst this may be a good solution for users with one or two entities, it becomes very expensive (and in some cases prohibitive) for users who own multiple entities to make use of Xero as an accounting service. Additionally, "overall financial position" metrics / reports currently need to be purchased separately - which further increases the cost for business owners.

I would thus like to enquire whether it would be possible for Xero to create either a license option to…

  17. Invoicing - Ability to insert a page break in long invoices

Some of our invoices have long narrations with multiple lines. At present if one of your line items goes over to a second page you have no ability to define where the page break should be. It would be a great feature to be able to place a page break at any point in the invoice.

  18. Can the new invoicing template show address like the classic invoicing template does?
Classic invoicing - Shows company address and the person it is addressed to (Attention:) when viewing the invoicing from our end
New Invoice - Only shows the company name and to check if the address is correct and if the person it is addressed to is correct you have to click on Edit or download it as a pdf to verify it.
    Example Snapshots attached.

Hi team, with our latest updates to new invoicing you're now able to see your contacts address if they have one saved when viewing the invoice.

Appreciate the question around being able to edit the address and to confirm - you'll find in view mode you can click on the contact to view the contact card. If you'd like to edit the address click the small link in the top right of the contact card. This'll pop the contact open in a separate browser tab where you can edit and add a billing and/or delivery address. 🙂

  19. Ability to show details on notes or comments from Invoices/Contact record to Aged Payable report.

Purpose: With notes and comments, users will have extra details with the debts that the suppliers/customers owned to users’ business

  20. Hi, I would love the ability to select one of our bank accounts or credit cards on the awaiting payments screen for each bill. i can select the planned date however this only tells me when it is going to be paid and it would be useful for planning if i was able to select for example the credit card it is DD from or bank account to aid in budgeting and cashflow.
