  1. Including the AUTO lookup feature for sales tax in the Mobile App would make the product usability much better in states such as Colorado. To create invoices at "pop-up" events in various tax jurisdictions is crucial so you don't have to remember to continuously load new rates for complex destination /home-room rule situations. The "usability" of the app would be increased rather than being tethered to a computer to manage.

  2. The sum and subtract function in invoices is a great feature; it would be great to use it in expenses as well. I often have to itemise a gross expense total into separate items with different VAT treatments. It would be useful to subtract the itemised line amount from the gross total directly in Xero rather than using a calculator.

  3. It would be really good to have a tick box on the Invoice creation page similar to "GoCardless: Collect ASAP" which would cause the payment to be collected ASAP as opposed to on the Due Date of the invoice.

    For customers who already have a mandate set up via GoCardless, using "+0 days" for Repeating Invoices or "Today" for standard invoices as the Due Date resolves the problem in a way - the money is collected ASAP.

    But for customers who do not have a mandate set up, things get even more complicated.

  4. Attach the raised purchase order to the invoice rather than creating supplier invoice from it. Upload the created purchase order in Xero - against the supplier invoice uploaded to Xero awaiting authorisation

  5. We need a report that will give us a list of lapsed customers. We as a small business need to be in touch with customers who haven't had any transactions with us for 6 months or a year. It would be great to have a feature or report where we can easily find these customers. On our old accounting system, all of our customers had a " last invoice date" column so we could easily pull a report for any of these customers who hadn't been invoiced for 6 months or more.

  6. We have monthly invoices and we have multiple lines, sometimes 100+. With the new invoicing, the approve button is at the top of the screen and I have to scroll to the top every time I got to check the total prior to approving. Can you please make the 'approve' ribbon fixed at the top of the screen when you scroll down?

    Thanks for your feedback, Dane. This isn't something we have direct plans around atm and we'll track the interest in having this option as a floating button, here.

    You may find using the 'Home' button on your keyboard helps to quickly navigate back to the top of page for now.

  7. We use two tracking category's depending on which country the transaction relates to, the category options are the projects in that country, if a tracking option has been added to the wrong category on an invoice and you need to remove it you can't leave the category blank, on the old invoices and other areas of Xero you have (none) under the category options which you can choose if it is to be blank but this option is not there on the new invoicing

    Hey everyone, thanks again for suggesting this. Good news – the new line item grid is live for everyone now.

    With this update, getting rid of tracking is way easier. You can just hit backspace and tab through the fields, or we've also popped in a 'No tracking' option in the dropdown. We appreciate your feedback through product ideas – it really helps!

  8. VAT201 Report (ZA) - A SARS requirement is to have sequential invoice numbers. The invoice numbers are not displayed on the VAT201 report, only the customer reference number, if there is no reference number, then the customer invoice number is displayed. Can we please have a column for the customer invoice number or only have the customer invoice number listed.

    Hi community, we've recently released shortcuts in new invoicing that cut down the number of mouse clicks and help you perform actions on your invoice with the use of your keyboard. 

    We've added small prompts to highlight these shortcut combinations in product, and if you’d like to view the full list of options you can view them all on Xero Central

    While save options were explored as part of this work, the only keyboard shortcut right now is Save & close (Alt-Shift-C).

    Another option you may want to test for yourself is the '/i' keyboard shortcut. As new invoicing has auto save when you're ready to add another invoice, you could simply type '/i' on your screen. This will open the global search in the blue header with options to go to All invoice, or Create new invoice which you could either click or use Tab to select.

  10. It is most annoying and time consuming to only be able to access half of the inventory items when raising an invoice. Instead one has to look up every item in the second half of the inventory, line by line before you can add it to an invoice. This is a step into the dark ages.

    Hi everyone, I'm pleased to share that the new line item grid is now available to all orgs.

    We know being able to see more of your inventory items is important and with the new grid we've expanded the number of items that you can see from 50 to 100.

    For majority of orgs this means you'll now be able to view your full list of inventory. We understand there are some orgs that have many more items, but want to be honest that we don't intend to increase this amount further. Thank you for all contributions and support you've shared with us, here.

When you create an invoice the payment terms default to what is set for each customer (ie. 45 days from end of month, 60 days etc) however if you then change the issue date of the invoice, it defaults back to 30 days for every client regardless of their terms. We are looking for it to caclulate to each clients correct terms whenever the invoice date is changed

    Hi team, with some recent changes we made to the date picker in new invoicing you should find this is now working correctly for you. When creating a new invoice the default due date is triggered by the invoice settings, or where set for an individual contact this'll be the date used, also as noted in my update here - now if you update the issue date after a due dates entered, it does not automatically update the due date when you make issue date changes.

    If you're still finding any discrepancies in what you're expecting I'd recommend raising a case with our specialists at Xero Support so we can get more detail and confirm the behaviour you're getting.

  12. This is a known issue that needs to be voted on to be prioritized.

    The Auto Sales Tax feature in Xero (from Avalara) disallows the ability to edit an Invoice account category. This is a huge limitation that will have massive repercussions as time goes on. Please fix this promptly.

  14. Invoices have a Date field with the temporal resolution of YYYY-MM-DD (despite there being numeric values to support time as well).
    This field shows the date that the invoice is created. It would be wonderful if the invoices had a time field, with the timestamp that the invoice was created.
    Fundamentally, this is extremely similar to UpdatedDateUTC.

  15. It would be good to be able to see the bank account details (BSB and Account number) on the new bill screen when entering invoices to be paid. By having the contacts bank details on the entry screen you can easily check that the bank details in Xero match what is on the invoice. This would save time of having to go and open the contact to check that the details match - not to mention save time of having to download the invoice so you can view it while checking against the contact.   16. New Invoicing - Type in Item - please change back to only searching start of field, as per old invoicing.
    Now that typing in the Item field in the new invoicing brings up every item with that word or part word in anywhere, we either need to learn all the codes, or make sure our items all contain totally different words. It takes ages to find the item required.

  17. Batch download of Validated eInvocie from Malaysia LDHN

    This idea is related to eInvoice from Malaysia LHDN, send individual invoice section.

    Once sending the email to MyInvois@invoi.ci, and after validated, the e-invoice will be added to file attachment.

    There is currently no option to be able to batch download these multiple eInvoice that is validated in the file attachment section.

  19. We have had a number of issues relating to modified invoices / documents within Xero. It would be great if there is a way we can setup alerts or email notifications each time certain documents are modified such as invoices or figures on forms etc. This would allow our Financial Controller to oversee all changes made on a global level.

  20. New Invoicing My issue is that when an Invoice has been amended after it has been sent. I have found that currently the tick is still in the box as Sent . I think it should not be ticked until the amended invoice has been emailed again. I sent it twice to a customer Also The History and Notes on that Invoice Show it was updated but not emailed straight after I edited it. Anyone else having issues with this?? Maybe I should log a support call for it. If so let me know

    Thanks for your idea and feedback, Maria. I'm just checking in with the team on the history for the send in the second part of your post here.

    In terms of the sent box being ticked. This is automatically ticked when the invoice is initially sent and does not change when an invoice is subsequently edited. Appreciate this might be something that would help your processes and I've slightly amended the title of the idea for this.

    While we don't have any plans for this right now, we'll begin to get a sense of the interest in this, here.
