New Invoicing - Applying customer credit to invoiceIn the new invoicing it is possible to add a customers credit onto their invoice from the bottom of the screen however the old version would have a pop up asking if you would like to apply the credit. Can we change new invoicing so that it pops up asking for confirmation as this is easily missed. 7 votesHi everyone, as shared a little earlier here when you start entering an invoice for a customer that has credit you'll receive a notification in the bottom right. Once you approve the invoice you'll receive a prompt to let you know that you have credit for the contact and would you like to apply it. If you're not receiving this prompt this would be unexpected behaviour. We'd still like to help you with this, but it's best for our specialists at Xero Support to get more information 1-on-1 and investigate this with you. You can reach out to them through the Contact Xero Support option throughout Xero Central (bottom of the page).

New Invoicing - Use item sales price when copying from Purchase orderNew Invoicing problem - we are copying new invoices from the existing purchase orders and prices on the new invoices are showing as a cost price instead of the sales prices! :(((. A massive issue! Also, the new invoicing look is not user friendly with a lot of space on the screen. We were very happy with the current invoicing when everything was working perfectly, and the new invoicing does not work for us at all. Bills - Support for due dates prior to invoice dateBill Due Date At the moment the due date can't be set as prior to the bill's actual date. New Invoicing - Add a Print PDF where you can directly print from the invoice (not download)New Invoicing - I need to print invoices regularly for counter sale customers. Using new invoicing it used to open a new chrome tab when you clicked Print PDF from there you could print or download the invoice easy. In a recent update (See link https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/47646932-new-invoicing-print-pdf-option) the Print button now only allows you to Download invoices. Please revert to the old system where printing or downloading took the same number of clicks or - Change the current Print PDF button to read "Download PDF"

We know how much our customers value efficient workflows, and appreciate you sharing your thoughts on how the current "Print PDF" button works. For those of you looking for a smoother printing experience, a helpful workaround is to set your browser to automatically open PDFs in your preferred viewer after downloading. This can save you a few clicks in the process. In the interest of transparency, a direct print PDF functionality that go through the download step isn't in our development plans. You can continue to vote on this idea so if our position changes in the future we will update you all, here.

New Invoicing - Remove the zeros from the amount fieldWhen entering after Qty field, amount is pre filled with 0.00 and when you type, it will put the amount after e.g 0.00120 instead of 120.00. Please remove the pre filled zeros as with classic invoicing and keep the new invoicing in line with everything else in Xero like bills and spend money etc. It is too different!😒 28 votes

New Invoicing - Move Save button to bottom of invoice like classicPlease move the SAVE for the New invoicing to the bottom as per old invoicing. When you have an invoice with 30-50 items and then have to scroll back up to save it adds to the pressure of getting things done. Or Better still Leave the old there until you've got it together and your Paid subscribers are happy.

New invoicing - Default quantity of 1 for invoice linesIn the New Invoicing Template you have to enter a Qty for every line as the default Qty is "0"... In the classic version and what we are all used to it's "1".. As a ball park guess I'd say the use of Zero qty on a line is a lot less common than any other number from 0-9 and I'd guess most lines are a qty of x1.. If I wanted to default my qty's to Zero, I can not see the point in making invoices :)))) Come on who made Zero a default qty for invoicing?? 26 votes

Invoicing - Ability to copy invoice within a locked periodKelly, it is a long message. Please be patient. It demonstrates what mess is created in new invoicing. It demonstrates that new invoicing is not ready to fly solo after 20.11.2024. We must have a functional backup of classic invoicing if new invoicing is so erroneous. I had to credit invoice INV-1548 for $1,483.35 in the locked period and replace it with two new invoices addressed to two customers (let’s call them customer1 and customer2). I had to show in the new invoices what was the credit part for each customer. My steps are below:

Following the same steps to copy a fully paid invoice that's within a locked period you should find that you're now able to copy this within the invoice with now errors. Though we don't have a report that'll show the payment method atm, you could run the Receivable or Payable Invoice Detail reports to view much of this information. Once you've customised the report as you like, you can save as Custom to easily access that view anytime.

Invoicing | Tracking - don't override with contact default when copying invoiceKelly, the procedure to copy an invoice was improved, but it is still erroneous. We have tracking category (department) recorded in customer's settings. But for some customers we issue invoices with the other department tracking category. New invoicing does not copy that "other" category. When the invoice is copied, all customer's default settings applied to it. In my particular case, it is wrong. I do not want customer's default tracking category; I want a copy of the INVOICE with the correct tracking category. In short, the new invoice is to be an EXACT copy. New Invoicing - Populate Discount from Contact's Sales DefaultsNew Invoicing: In the classic invoicing, I can click in the discount area and the discount set in a customer's profile is automatically entered. I don't want to have to go in and look up each customer's discount every time I create an invoice. Simply enter a Qty or Price and the discount saved for that contact will be applied. Projects - Expense Date to be shown on the invoiceAdd an expense date to a project When you enter expenses under projects, a date is required. While this may be something we look closer at down the line, I want to be open that we don't have direct change planned in the near term. Understand it's a few more clicks at present, potentially to save tabbing 8 time clicking on the Tax Rate column and then tabbing once may save a little time atm. Completely get it's not a resolve though. Account Team - Is it possible that this would be when you're copying an invoice to a new draft invoice? If so, and you select the same Contact defaults aren't automatically applied and you'd need to remove and re-add the contact on the new draft invoice to trigger defaults to be applied. Invoicing - Edit Item Code without changing Description, qty or priceWhen copying an invoice, we need to be able to copy and paste in the item code without it deleting all of the description, qty and cost.
