new invoicing does not show $0 after payment is appliednew invoicing does not show $0 after payment is applied unlike classic invoicing why why why ? 6 votesHi team, this is unexpected behaviour and something we'd need to take a closer look into. If not already I'd recommend raising a case with our team at Xero Support where our specialists can get more detail and access to your org to investigate. While we'll move the idea here to Not planned this is something we'd like to help you with so please do come into our Xero Support team, who can escalate if required.

New Invoicing - Allow us to have Negative quantities on invoiceIn the Classic Invoicing, we could set a negative item amount which was useful to make it clear to clients that we had refunded something. It also corrected the stock levels in the inventory. In new Invoicing, you can set a negative financial amount but you are not allowed negative quantities, as such it is not clear and it messes up the stock inventory levels. You can do it via credit notes but this requires more things to be issued to clients etc. 23 votes

New Invoicing | Send - Copy & paste multiple emails into the To fieldWhen sending a new invoice to a client with multiple contacts, I find the most recent invoice relevant to the current project and copy the email details from the History and Notes entry for the action Invoice Sent.
If there is more than one email address, the old invoicing used to recognise that a comma separated the email addresses. I could paste that into the 'To' box without issue.
BUT IN THE NEW INVOICING, I get an error message when pasting multiple emails into the 'To' box: "One or more email addresses are invalid."
This means that I have…22 votes

New Invoicing - Populate Tracking column from settings in contact's Sales DefaultsHi, the new version of invoicing will increase my work load. at present when you open an invoice to approve it, it is easy to select the tracking categories, as it is linked to the client profile. in the new version it does not and you have to go through the list in a drop down! Also we have an issue when we change the invoice date. for example and Invoice raised on the 5th Feb should be paid on the 6th March. If we change the invoice date from the 5th to the 4th, it does not change… 3 votesThanks for your feedback on the idea here, with the way new invoicing works once you add a contact, any sales defaults saved for that contact in their record will be applied. Adding a Qty or Price for a line will trigger Tracking defaults saved for them to be automatically applied. Similarly this applies to the any default saved for Due Date. If you have saved a due date that is driven by the invoice Issue date you should see this update if you change the Issue date on the invoice. If this is not behaviour that you're experiencing please do raise a case with our team of specialists so we can take a closer look into this with you.

New invoicing - Show invoices with "includes Adjustments to Tax"In Classic views if there was an Adjustment to Tax it was quite obvious when the Invoice (or Bill) had an adjustment to tax. Compare that to the new Invoice screen where there is nothing showing that this adjustment exists.
It must be sitting in the database somewhere as its shows in classic invoicing.Could this be added back into new invoicing plus could there be a report or filter that could show invoices or bills that have an adjustment to tax? 11 votesHi everyone, apologies we've not updated you on this idea sooner. Where you're using the UK or Global editions of Xero it is possible to manually adjust the tax amount of individual lines of your invoice with new invoicing. This is slightly different to classic where you would adjust the overall tax amount of the invoice. If the Tax Amount column isn't shown already, click the show/hide fields button where you'll have the option to check this - While this column is possible to view for all orgs, as with classic invoicing only UK and Global editions will find the option to edit the Tax amount of your invoice lines.

New Invoicing - Reduce the amount of empty space on screenHave less white space on new invoicing as it fills screen. The notes section which is in contacts 4000 chars make visable and editable on the new invoice page so we can see it whilst creating and invoice. We dont then have to keep jumping from one page to the next. 437 votesHi team, taking a lot of our customers feedback onboard we've just released a new line item grid that encompasses many improvements our customers have been asking for. With this change, our product team have optimised padding, font size and column width, reducing the amount of white space and providing a more compact view. For many customers this means less scrolling and better visibility of the contents of fields like Account and Tax Rate which are now wrapped so you can see the full contents. We value all the feedback we've received from customers as we keep developing this experience. Please continue to add your votes to what matters most to you, our product teams continuously lean into your feedback and trending ideas from the forums here as they plan more improvements.

New invoicing doesn't contain previous useful featuresNew invoicing version makes me tick 'Include files as attachments' for every invoice I send off, whereas the old invoicing remembered my defaults. I prefer the old way where my preferences were saved. New invoicing also cannot preview attachments, it always has to open a new tab to view an attachment. Old invoicing I could preview an attachment on a pop up within the same browser tab. I prefer just viewing the attachment quick within the same screen, I personally don't like having another tab that needs closing. Invoicing notes are inaccurate. For example; the system keeps marking invoiced as… 7 votesThanks for sharing your thoughts and feedback on how you'd like to see new invoicing developed. All your feedback here is being shared with the team as they continue to iterate and develop this new experience. That said, in order for us to get a better understanding of interest for the different points raised here it's best for us to track and update any progress on these each separately. We appear to have ideas for each of the points mentioned in the thread here and I've linked these below so you can join and follow any updates for each.

New invoicing - Increase size of item code displayThe item code on the New invoicing shows much smaller that it was on the Classic Invoicing. Example attached shows how much harder it is to read. Can this be enlarged? 5 votes

E-invoicing - United Arab EmiratesE-Invoicing in the UAE.
This will soon be a requirement in the UAE with legislation to be passed on this.
Please can we as Xero users have a standard process template for this.7 votesHi Faadhilah, thanks for raising the idea about introducing e-invoicing specifically for the UAE. With the government’s timelines and deadlines coming up, we understand how important it is for businesses there to have a streamlined way to comply. Xero already supports e-invoicing in other regions where this has become a regulatory requirement. While we can’t share any definite plans about when or if this will be available in the UAE just yet, your idea status is currently Gaining support. This status means the community team has reviewed it, and now it’s open for votes and comments from users like you. Getting more votes and detailed feedback from the community helps bring attention to the demand and shows the product team where to focus next. If you haven’t already, adding more context about how e-invoicing would affect your business day to day would be really valuable. The more insights the team…

Invoicing - Automatically delete draft invoices when merging invoicesI would love if when we merged Invoices into 1 from drafts it doesn't leave the draft that I need to manually go back and delete. This can cause double ups of Invoicing. 6 votes

Invoicing - Show attachment option at the top of the pageThe button to view attachments was at the top of the page in classic invoicing but is at the bottom in new invoicing. Our sales transactions are imported from our point of sales software via API. Every sales invoice has an attachment and we now have to pointlessly scroll down to the bottom of every invoice before we can view the underlying report. Please put the attachment button back in an accessible place! 19 votes

New Invoicing - add "Hide invoice summary in email" optionDespite several separate requests on this forum, New Invoicing's email still begins with an invoice summary, unlike Classic Invoicing. For us, relationship and communication are more important than asking for payment so Classic Invoicing's email is perfectly set up with our message first and the invoice following. New Invoicing's email reverses this with the money part writ large at the top. Andrew Chadwick described it better than I can in the post linked below. The idea has been marked as Delivered but, respectfully, it hasn't been. His and my points still stand. 12 votes

Jax - Invoice Due DateJAX currently does not pull the customers due date from the customers file. Because that feature isn't live yet, JAX doesn't help our organization to be able to use JAX to create invoices. I wanted to bring it to your attention in the hopes your product team is working on it. You may already be working on it, I just didn't see it listed anywhere. Our customers have different invoice due dates depending on how their account is setup. Because of this, we would have to look up each due date for the customer and manually change it. It… 1 voteHi Brandy! Did you know it's already possible to do this in Xero via JAX? To get JAX to automatically use your contacts’ default due dates, simply prompt it once to apply the default dates set in each contact’s profile. From then on, JAX will create draft invoices that use those contacts’ specific due dates. If you’d like an extra hand setting this up, you can raise a case with our Xero Support specialists 😊 To ask questions about using Xero in community you can post or join Discussions on Xero Central. Online Invoicing - Auto attach PDF of invoice when saving as DraftI've noticed that Xero is retiring classic invoicing, and that the Xero to Xero link option is not available in New Invoicing. Xero to Xero is an important feature for many of our clients especially in groups where there is intra-group invoicing with many items on an invoice this saves a lot of time! Please add Xero to Xero to new invoicing. I also want to ask if Xero to Xero can please automatically attach the pdf version of the invoice to the bill created in the opposite entity as this does not happen automatically. 5 votesHi Michael, we have an idea for Xero to Xero in new invoicing and want to be open that this isn't something we'll be building into new invoicing however there is still a way to use this feature. You can have a read of my full post on the idea. In relation to your second idea around auto attaching the PDF of an invoice when it's created as a bill in the recipients organisation. I'll slightly amend your idea for this here and we can get a sense of the appetite for this.

Invoicing - Update contact with email used when sendingUnder the old invoicing, when an invoice was emailed to a client for the first time, the email address used for that first invoice automatically populated the Contact card's email address at the time the invoice was sent.
This meant that if the invoice was unpaid, the reminder would be able to go to the same person who received the invoice.
However the new invoicing doesn't automatically populate the Contact's email address.
This means an extra step is needed to ensure the Contact card is updated.
If this step isn't taken, then the automated reminders don't go…10 votesThanks for sharing your thoughts and adding your vote to this idea! We totally get how important it is to keep your customer contact info accurate and up to date. An automatic update feature through invoicing sounds like a great way to save you some valuable time. Right now, if you send an invoice to an email that’s not already linked to a contact, you’ll need to add that email manually in Xero. The current setup is designed to be flexible so you can send invoices to multiple emails without changing the contact record. But we can definitely see how this feature would speed things up for you. This idea is now in the “Gaining Support” phase, which means it’s open for votes and comments. We’re keeping an eye on how much interest it gets from the community. Your vote really helps us understand how much this feature matters to…

New invoicing - Show full Tracking categoryDespite some condensing of information and improvements to the appearance of new invoicing, it continues to display information with less clarity and efficiency than before. This is only one example but on classic invoicing, entering a tracking category that was too large for the field would cause the vertical height of that row to increase. Now new invoicing simply cuts off the field after a certain character limit. This system is not ready for default deployment and you have no idea how bad the support storm is going to be on the 2nd of September. Please push back… 5 votesHi everyone, our new line item grid has been released, and you'll find with this update along with other changes, that all fields now wrap. So if you have an account, tax rate or code that is a little longer you'll be able to see the full name of this when invoicing. We appreciate all your feedback on improving new invoicing to suit your needs here. Thanks

Sales Invoices - Ability to set the void dateInvoice - Change voided invoice date Ability to adjust the void date for a previously voided invoice. 2 votesHi Rachel, could you share any detail of what this would help your business do? Is there a specific reason you'd like to be able to set the Voided invoice date?
