  1. Reinstate the bank activity graph for contacts (clients) which used to enable us to see all bank activity for all bank accounts on the client contact page. Give us back our credit control eyes!

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the interest this idea is receiving and will continue to watch the interest for this here however want to be open that this isn't something we have plans to develop into the newer Contacts page at present.

  2. I would like to ask if there is a possibility of having on suppliers' and customers' activity bar (please see attached screenshot, what I mean) and one more column - bill/invoice description? I used to work with QuickBooks, and they had this feature, which was very helpful.

  3. I cannot attach a credit note file to a new credit note directly from Xero Files which is frustrating, it would be really helpful to have this as an option.

    Thanks for your idea, Joe. To better understand the use case and maybe help others who'd be after the same connect with your idea here - Are there any scenarios or situations you generally find when viewing a contact and wanting to view the very next or last contact in a list? 

  5. When adding invoices through HubDoc when there is a new contact that needs to be added, it would be great if the option to create a new contact (supplier or customer) was available in HubDoc, rather than having to start typing in the contact filed & then having to wait for HubDoc/Xero to catch up.

  6. Extract tax amount from the invoice. This is required for compliance with VAT amount recorded in accounts must match what is on the invoice

    Extracted Amount requires a manual entry of VAT amount. This is misleading as "extracted" suggests the amount has been extracted from the invoice.

    20% on expenses option calculates from the NET AMOUNT or backwards from the GROSS AMOUNT, this is incorrect as the may not match VAT amount on invoice specifically where there are non or zero vat amounts

  7. FINTECH requires Xero’s Contact ID for integration, but the Contact ID isn’t included in the contact export. They must be manually copied from the URL, which is slow and error prone.

    Hi Marcia thanks for raising this here, we can understand how including the contact ID would be a great addition to the export feature in Contacts.

    We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

  8. Customer statements to show on the contacts tab when sent - I can see in history & notes on the file tab on a contact that a statement was sent but it would be great if it was possible to click a link here to see the statement that was sent to the customer (rather ticking to send statement to own e-mail)

  9. When setting up suppliers in "Contacts" within Xero, it would be great if Xero could perform a VAT check from a link to the HMRC website. There could be a button next to the VAT number box called "Check VAT" and then the supplier's VAT details (as per HMRC) would show.

    Furthermore, it would be great if there could be a VAT report that you could run each quarter to check whether all VAT numbers are correct. It might involve a bit more work for the bookkeeper to ensure they set up the supplier correctly in Xero, but it would…

    Thanks for the suggestion to add a “Check VAT” action in Xero Contacts to verify VAT numbers directly with HMRC John. We can see how this would be a helpful addition for ongoing supplier checks ✨.We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so others can vote and add real-world examples. The more detail you can share about when and how you’d use this (for example, one-off checks during setup vs. quarterly reviews), the better we can assess impact and prioritisation. We’ll continue to monitor interest and will update this thread if there’s progress to share.


  10. Shortcut to Hubdoc - First thing I do when I open Xero in most clients is click straight into Hubdoc. With the BETA layout the shortcut has now been lost right down under 'do more with Xero'. I want to move the shortcut so it is the first thing I get to when I click on the client name. I'd also like the hide the Syft, I don't plan on using it yet and don't want it on my dashboard

  12. Currently hubdoc suggests that a document is a Credit Note and to check before proceeding. Can this be the same when a document has Statement written on it. I find that statements are often processed as invoices causing duplicate payments within Xero

  13. I would like to have having ability to quickly see the outstanding amount in the currency it was originally invoiced (like USD or EUR) directly from contacts dashboard, without having to navigate through detailed reports and apply multiple filters. This would save a lot of time.

  14. Ensure that the branding theme that is assigned to a customer is used to send POs, statements, credit notes, quotes etc ... not just invoices.

  15. Currently the file sizes generated in uploading receipts is unnecessary large - I often see 3Mb for a coffee receipt! This is problematic when onward charging expenses to customers (and requires manually resizing before adding to an invpice which is time consuming) and must be costing you a fortune in data storage. Why isn't the file size limited to a sensible size or at least configurable by the user?

  16. When a folder is created in Files app, it appears on the left menu and the documents uploaded in the folder appears on the right side of the screen. When there is a long list of folders created, like I am doing with the client, the list goes below the screen and scrolling down option is only the main scroll of Xero that moves the list of folders and the document display screen together. So, checking a document from the folder at the end of the list requires to scroll down at the end, find the folder and select it…

  17. It's a small annoyance - but an annoyance all the same.
    (mostly I am annoyed with myself for forgetting the two sections are different ;)

    In the Destinations section of Publish & Proceed - when you start typing in a Contact name if it doesn't yet exist you get the option to add as a new contact - and the beginning of the name you've typed staysa in the box. Then you finish typing it in and hit Create.

    But above, in the Transaction Details section when the first letters don't pull up a known supplier, and you hit +Add…

  18. Customer lifetime value report.

    I would like to see date fields that you complete when you onboard and archive a new customer. Then it would be easy to work out the average lifetime value of your customers (CLV) using the “income and expenses by contact” or other report.

  19. It would be great if in Blue Xero in the Contacts list the "Mobile number" can be displayed when there is no actual phone number, currently you need to open the contact to see the Mobile Number. a bit frustrating.

    We've just released a recent improvement to searching contacts where you can now search a contact by any phone, direct dial, mobile or fax number saved in their contact record.

    While you won't be able to see a contacts mobile number from the screen, you'll be able to search for a contact by a mobile number that's been saved for them.

    We don't have further change planned to add more detail to this screen atm but we'll continue to track the support of the idea here.

  20. When you look at the PAID invoices it shows years of invoices and would be nice if you could archive previous years. If a person is no longer affiliated with your company and they had previous invoices they cannot be archived but the person can be archived.
