  1. Currently, the stock is not updated until the bill is entered. Many times the deliveries can be part-deliveries or billed on multiple bills. It is impossible to part bill and update the stock for the delivered items
    Also, we can get billed before any order is even processed by the supplier. To match the bill with the purchase order, it needs to be entered through the purchase order, which updates the stock before it has even arrived in store.
    We need the ability to update the stock record in Xero at the time of delivery, not on billing date.

  6. In new invoicing, please revert the ability to edit the postal address 'attention' box, back to the same as classic invoicing. Property managers want the owner's name included in the invoice address, so for each invoice I produce, I need to change the person's name in the 'attention' box. Previously this could be done by clicking on 'edit address' within the invoice, but in new invoicing, I need to edit the address by going into 'contacts', 'edit ', 'addresses', 'edit address', 'update address', 'save'.     Hi everyone, we value your input on the new invoicing experience and hearing the specific features that are of importance to you.

    We have some updates planned for the contact card where you can enter details of your contact within new invoicing, and as part of this we'll be providing the ability to edit the Attention to field.

    We'll keep you up to date with progress of this through the idea here.

  7. The new feature sets the discount column to numeric value by standard. My business uses % and it's incredibly tedious having to type % each time. We can do 10-20 quotes a day with an average of 30 products per quote. So a feature that would allow us to click a button to default to percentage, so when you type a number the % appears (like in old Xero).

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the interest his idea has received. Introducing the ability to add a discount amount was highly requested by our community. We recognise for customers that discount by % this means you'll need to enter a % symbol where y ou wouldn't have done so before.

    With quite a few items drawing our teams attention at present we want to be upfront that developing a default option for discounts isn't in the pipeline atm. This is something we'll keep reviewing and consider as a future improvement in this space. If there is any change or progress around this I'll let you know on the idea, here.

  8. Xero Projects seems a bit backwards to me, you create project then can create or link a quote. It would be far better if you could create a a project from an accepted quote.
    ie. Quote customer for job > Customer accepts quote > Mark quote as accepted and create project.

  10. Currently Xero Expenses creates a single expense claim for each individual item.
    Normal practice for an expense claim is it contains multiple lines (different expenses), such as parking, a restaurant bill and a hotel.

    I would like to have the ability to group individual expense lines into one expense claim.

    I would then have a single bill to pay (an expense claim with multiple lines) appear in my Bills to pay, rather than one for each line.

    Hi everyone, while our team considered solutions in this space with other pieces of work planned there is no current development planned for adding a notes or description field within Projects at this time. 

    For now, as you may be aware you can add notes to the History and notes of the individual transactions within a project, or alternatively on the Contacts record. 

    We're continuing to watch this space and will share if there is any progress.

    Thanks for joining and following in the idea here, everyone. While early exploration has been done in this area, we want to be upfront that we don't have any short term plans for developing the ability to track quotes on the dashboard. 

    At present, you may find search in the navigation a quick way to navigate to all quotes by typing 'q'.

    If there is any change planned in this space we'll be sure to update you on this.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the restrictive nature of inventory(Products and Services) atm, and our product team have plans to explore adding capability to cater for negative inventory or back order of stock recorded in Xero. 

    While they have a few other priorities to get through first we'll move this idea to Under review and return to share more when this work picks up.

    Thanks for your continued input and contribution to this idea. We've now released an improved send experience for new invoicing, where you have a side by side view to give you full visibility of what's being sent. Encompassed in this is also the ability to CC and BCC others in the email😊.

    For the time being this is limited to sending from the invoice itself and won't apply to Invoice Reminder emails. However, we are thinking ahead and will look to expand this capability in time. We'll keep you updated of any further progress of this here.

  16. To have a column of back orders/negative items within the Sales Invoices.

    Purpose: Users can easily enter back ordered items rather than doing extra steps of adding 1 more item in their inventory.

    Hi team, we know some of our customers find using inventory(Products and Services) in Xero a little restrictive atm. Related to the idea here - Exploring the ability to record negative inventory, or back order of stock in Xero is in our product teams plans. They have a bits of work to get through first, but we'll shift this idea to Under review and keep you updated when this progresses.

    Thanks for all the feedback and detail on your needs in the idea here. As you'll see from each others comments there are different points at which businesses would want to be automating this process. Not really a one size fits all approach. 

    As noted in recent comments, we recently made a change for new invoicing flow where (like classic) you can now choose to Send receipt from the payment confirmation that's shown once you apply a payment to an invoice. 

    At this time we don't have plans for automating this flow however we're still attuned to the idea here and will be sure to share if there are any plans made toward this in the future.

    Hi everyone, understand the difference between a description only line and what's being asked for in the idea here. 

    This isn't something we have planned at present. 

    We do want to highlight the existing option for anyone interested that could benefit from the option mentioned earlier in the conversation (thanks, Paco) 

    Currently, it is possible to 'description' only lines to an invoice (with no Qty or Price) where you can enter up to 4000 characters worth of detail that could help you signal a note within an invoice to your customer. 

    We will continue to assess ideas in the forum here and let you know if there are any changes surrounding this to share. 

  19. Restore the ability to see the total number of days an invoice is overdue from the client contact page for credit control. It used to say 125 days overdue in red - that has gone so it is now not as easy to decide how firm to be when emailing a client to chase a late invoice. Those days overdue on an email heading get attention fast.

    Thanks for your interest in being able to send a PDF of an invoice via the Xero Network. 


    While this isn't something we're looking to develop atm. For those in AU and NZ you could look into sending e invoices via the Peppol network. 


    Through e invoices you can attach and include files as well as a PDF of the invoice - See more on Xero Central
