    Hi everyone, we appreciate the importance of being able to view and understand where billable expenses have and haven't been assigned. While we have keen eyes on the idea here, with other big pieces of work on the go we want to be open that this is not in the roadmap atm.
    We want you to know we're taking on board all your feedback here, and will continue to stay across this, and keep you updated of any news or progress that'll improve visibility for your needs here.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate wanting the ability to assign files to the project itself. While this isn't something we have planned right now we'll keep tracking the interest through the idea here. 


    To highlight, though not currently available on the Project directly, it's possible to attach files to the individual transactions within a project e.g a Bill, Invoice, Spend money or Expense. i

    Along with this, you may also find it useful to create folders within your Files library where you can collect all files related to a specific project for ease of reference. 

    Understand this isn't the ideal solution, but may help some for now 🙂

  3. Ability to edit a bank account without having to delete the transaction and then re-enter it in the correct account.

    Purpose: Save time from deleting the transactions and entering them from scratch in the correct account.

  6. in Recurring invoices, placeholders are essential to accurate and meaningful descriptions. Placeholders seem to currently only offer Week, Month & Year but not ‘Day’ or [DATE] or [TODAY]. (with the usual +/- feature). This would be hugely helpful for recurring daily or weekly invoices or for communicating a relevant billing period on a Monthly invoice (that differs from calendar months or calendar weeks) without having to manually update the date in description of every Repeated invoice. Currently more work is required and ALL repeating invoices need manual intervention before approval whereas if this could be automated Bills could be automatically…

  7. Ability to trigger notification when expense claims are awaiting approval and approved status.

  10. We use tracking categories of building jobs. It would be great to archive the tracking category once the job it complete. Allowing a P&L by tracking category report to only show active jobs.

In the "classic invoicing" interface an alert is displayed at the bottom of approved invoices when the contact being invoiced has existing credit that can potentially be applied to the new invoice. This is a very important feature and strangely it's missing from the new invoicing interface. With the "classic invoicing" now being officially retired this basic feature must definitely carry over to the new invoicing interface.

    Without this alert, every time we create an invoice we would need to manually check if the contact has previous credit with us, which makes the process unnecessarily inefficient and unpleasant.

    Hi community, we appreciate all the feedback you've shared on how we can improve new invoicing for your needs.

    In relation to the alert of available credit as raised in this idea, we've identified there are a few situations for Invoice only users where the available credit pop up isn't being shown. This is something we have plans to fix, and while I can't give a specific date on the idea here, we want you to know this is important to us and I'll keep you updated on progress here.

    Thanks for sharing and supporting the idea here, Community. We understand the needs and desire to set a default mileage rate for Xero expenses, however want to be upfront that this is not something we have plans for in the short term.

    Our product team are staying close to the feedback, and will continue to review this idea, so if there's any changes planned we'll update you of this, here.

    Appreciate the feedback and interest through the idea here. Being open this isn't something we have plans for at this stage. Current focus is on new invoicing and improving the experience for our users as we edge closer to the retirement of classic invoicing.

  17. Ability to create a separate proforma invoice function which allows you to make part payments against the proforma invoice, before being able to convert it to a sales invoice.

    Hi everyone, thank you for all your valuable insights of how we could improve Xero inventory to suit your business.

    Atm, we don't have direct plans for providing capability to track assembly inventory within Xero, however our product team are doing some early testing of concepts for being able to bundle inventory in Xero.

    Quite related to your interests here, we wanted to provide you the opportunity to be a part of this,

  20. Currently Xero Expenses creates a single expense claim for each individual item.
    Normal practice for an expense claim is it contains multiple lines (different expenses), such as parking, a restaurant bill and a hotel.

    I would like to have the ability to group individual expense lines into one expense claim.

    I would then have a single bill to pay (an expense claim with multiple lines) appear in my Bills to pay, rather than one for each line.
