  1. Xero should auto import all the transactions from the bank feeds even if it appears to be double entries of the same transaction. For example Toll fees with the same amount on the same day are only imported once into xero although all the transactions are on the bank's online profile.

  2. Projects - it would be really helpful if we could select Projects as favourites (with the star like in reports) so when we click on the Projects heading we see our favourites in the drop down list, like we do with reports we use frequently. See image for example.

  3. Draft sales invoice. I would be helpful that when entering a sales invoice for a customer if Xero could advise/warn you that there is already a "Draft" invoice in the system.
    I add to draft invoices each week, and sometimes a draft that is already in existence gets missed.

  4. The new reports are significantly slower than the old reports. I was wondering if this has been experienced/ shared by other users? And if Xero were working on improving this?

    Appears Xero has gone backwards in terms of efficiency...

  5. A report to show transactions that have been posted including the account code and the projects that the transactions have been assigned to with data parameters.

    We reconcile the sales, direct costs and gross profit amounts from the project summary report to the same amounts in the profit and loss report but currently there is no way to identify differences when they arise. The above report will really be helpful!

    I know the second option is Payroll Activity Details report. However, when I download this report in excel, the Pay item type is under the employee column i.e not separated.

  9. Addition option of show customer statement "actual" outstanding instead "as at" date.
    Eg, Our customer ABC need us to furnish a Outstanding statement that as at 30 June 2023, and there is 4 invoice unpaid. Happen that 15 July 2023the customer pay the 3 invoices only. Customer request us to send the statement show the 1 unpaid invoice dated 30 June 2023 but it still shows 4 outstanding, how can we show the the one unpaid invoice in the statement.

    Ideal additional option of show date 30.6.23 and show the one 1 unpaid invoice only. Kindly advice.

  10. Where can I attach contact related documents vs financial related documents, as it appears there is only one document file upload location now. When there were options to keep these separate previously. It is all very well making updates and changes to the system in order for things to be quicker and more efficient but when this means, loosing previously used facilities, this is very frustrating. Keeping these different related documents apart has been very important previously and so now these all being stored together will mean things our end take longer and are less efficient for the end user.…

  11. Client has just realised that they hadn't entered an IRD number into Xero Payroll details for one of their contractors on withholding tax. Xero Payroll allowed the submission of payday filing to go through without error or notifying the client of the missing information.

    6 months later, client is contacted by contractor to say IRD don't have any record of withholding income or tax withheld on behalf even though the details were submitted and tax paid on to IRD. Without the IRD number, IRD was unable to allocate it to the contractor's income records.

  12. Sometimes small businesses use personal bank accounts or credit cards for business expenses. In order to ensure quick book keeping and reconciliation of business expenses, it is necessary to remove items of personal expenses from these bank feeds. By doing this only those transactions from personal bank feed that are relevant to the business are imported. Personal expenses have to be manually deleted.
    Can the system not allow us to select a bunch of personal transactions and remove them instead of having to manually remove each line item. This will dramatically reduce the time spent by Accountants in reconciling Personal…

    Hi team, while we appreciate you raising the idea here, the cap of processing payroll for 200 employees is to prevent any issues with your user experience - Going over this could slow down the payroll function, and create difficulties when you run payroll reports.

    If you do need to process larger payrolls, we suggest taking a look at our third-party providers in the Xero app store that can serve your needs and handle larger payroll data.

  14. It would be useful if the cell size was bigger when entering a Spend Money or Receive Money transaction. The area to type in is only two thirds the size of the cell in the Description box which restricts the amount of information visible. Only two lines of text are visible at a time.

Please provide bills allocation to purchase order option. converting purchase order to bills is not that useful as we received multiple invoice from different suppliers. sometime some supplier send us wrong invoice and without P.O allocations to bills we were unable to catch that kind of mistakes. which result in wrong payment.

    benefits of that option:

    it will be easy to see if trade/supplier invoiced more than our purchase order (agreed price). as right now there is no way we can see that information in xero.

  16. Payroll/Wages Payable Reconciliation
    It is quiet difficult in Xero to find out wages payable error done because there is no system of matching wages payment with the payroll journal at the transaction allocation stage.
    e.g. as we get the suggestions to allocate a payment received against an invoice, it should be similar with the wages.
    If there is any over/under payment it will be detected at the transaction allocation stage as there won't be any matching payroll transaction existing. This feature is there in MYOB. This is the only reason where I find MYOB better than Xero.

    Thanks for the engagement with this idea, everyone. This isn't possible atm however just to provide some options of being able to add a gratuity or tip to an existing invoice.

    You could have a inventory item set up for this. When a customer provides you a tip you would then edit the invoice and add this item, entering quantity as 1 and tip amount as the unit price. This way you could have the account and tax rate auto entered.

    Appreciate this may not suit all circumstance, but hopefully helps some here.

    We don't have any current plans for this but will update you if there's any news.

  18. Bills has an 'Accept & Next' Button. It would be great to have the same feature for Credit Notes.

  19. It would be GREAT (ok essential) to have the "Related account" column available here.

    A list of transactions by contact at it is, with date,VAT and total amount is ok but a CRUCIAL column is missing.

    "Related account" column is crucial/ essenital/ a mist because we often need to check consistency of posting to the correct account, which we cannot do right now.

  20. Where payroll is handled through Xero, please block the ability for client users to post bank transactions to Wages expense account and Superannuation expense account. It is time consuming to recode entries to the Wages payable account and Superannuation payable account. I have told some clients several times to not use the expense accounts but they still do it. If access to the expense accounts could be blocked when payroll is done through Xero, it would save a lot of time fixing the ledger accounts.
