Xero should allow users to set different default sender/reply-to email address depending on the document type.

For example, it would be easier if I had:

Quotes - sales/estimating email address
Invoices - accounts/finance email address.

At the moment users have to manually change the email address when sending different document types.

This would be particularly useful for businesses where the sales/estimating team and accounts team use different email addresses.

This is an important fix that is required!
I log into clients files with my own business email but I do not want their suppliers emailing me direct nor do they need to know I am a contractor not employee. Hence I need to add an email address specify to their business that they have given me. However there other staff need to be able to use their own email address they log in with.
Please update so we can add an email address just for us and doesn't effect other log ins also!

This is a critical feature for any business that has different company email management for Sales (Quotes), Purchasing (Purchase Orders), Accounts Receivables (Invoices), Accounts Payables (bills). These can't all have the same reply to email setting especially if one user controls more than one area.

This is now even more important to us, as Xero seem to have changed the "Send myself a copy" function to now send the copy to the "reply to" email - this has significant privacy ramifications for our business.

Definitely would be useful, as well as the ability to associate a reply to email to a Branding Theme, as sometimes we forget to change it when sending invoices or statements. Makes if very confusing to our customers when they receive the email from the wrong account.

It seems pointless to have the dropdown for each company I work for however have to log into each account to be able to send invoices/do payroll so it comes from the right account. As it has been mentioned there is a big emphasis on spam and my experience has been clients are unwilling to pay invoices if they are coming from strange emails outside the company's email.

Come on, Xero, rather than spending time on developing things users do not like (the new home page), how about something that will help users? This is really a great idea and would help so much.

As well as the obvious of company branding (it is clear by the way that Xero only do this to promote their own product). In can be done in MYOB. To me this is almost a good enough reason to change away from Xero. Clients these days are ignoring xero@ emails as they consider them span or bogus, or just want to delay payment so they don't get a read receipt in Xero. Official company emails can therefore be better trusted as we can request a read receipt if needed.

I would also like to add to this request, we have a seperate brand and would like to have the option to select the organisation name as well as the reply to email address when using secondary branding emails. These 2 options come hand in hand. At present you can set up a second brand with secondary logo etc but when you email the invoice the organisation name does not change to reflect the branding theme. So you need to manually change the reply to email address and organisation name. Why have multiple branding themes id they don't fully integrate and creating and paying for another subscription isn't the answer.

This is critical for our business as seperate teams and obvious confidentiality requirements need to be managed. We have seperate teams for invoicing and other finance matters. Plus deliver this feature in 2025 as it is a critical area for us and many many others as per votes and comments.

If you have two or more companies (organisations) in a multi-organisation package, the e.g. invoice emails sent to customers go from the login-email.

This is unprofessional, as if the login email address to XERO is for Company 1, when Company 2 sends out an invoice by email, it goes from Company 1's email address.

This is such an obvious fault, I do not understand why XERO has not addressed this.

XERO has told me that to resolve this, I should have two complete separate accounts, and lose my 5% discount. However, this is not acceptable, as I would have to logout then login every time I want to change accounts

There must be tens of thousands of users who use multi-organisational XERO, so I urge all of you to VOTE on this idea.

This is becoming a critical feature. Its currently preventing our Sales / Purchasing from using the email features.

We need to be able to select either the users inbox or a shared mailbox, manually per message or per entity type.

E.G Invoices / statements always use accounts@domain
Quotes always use sales inbox sales@domain
Purchases respond directly to the purchaser engineer_man@domain

Our team end up manually changing the email setting causing mistakes or now for assurance export the documents and send manually from their email client.

Although we are a small business, it is frustrating to find that all outgoing emails originating from Xero receive replies from third parties & customers ending up in one company email address - irrespective of the user who originated it. For example, finance has no interest in acceptance of customer quotes sent from the technical department and currently has to forward everything on to the relevant person. Ditto for purchase orders. A resolution would save a lot of wasted time - please!

Email sending features in Xero are useless until this is resolved.

As we are a multi-state organization, and have several bookkeepers around the country, it is critical to us to be able to have the "reply to" email address be personalized for each bookkeeper.

One way to achieve this is to have the "Reply to" email address to be set in the branding, rather than being in the settings.

If you truly want Xero to be scalable to larger corporation, you will need to address this issue, and perhaps more larger companies would adopt Xero

Yes please. We would like this feature too. With two trading companies under one Ltd umbrella, doing this would make all sending easier.

As a freelance bookkeeper with multiple clients using Xero, I don't really want my login email address to be used as the reply to address for clients. Currently it seems that you either use your login email address to allow separate reply to addresses or all replies go to one email address. In many of my client cases, quotes are required to have one email address and invoicing and accounts payable are required to use an admin email address. This is becoming increasingly difficult to work around and prevents me from using some of the features to send directly from Xero. If I'm missing something and there is a different way to achieve this, please let me know. I'm alway happy to learn more about the software. Thanking you.
