  1. Amend status of timesheet - I accidentally ran a Pay Run without having approved the timesheet. The status of the timesheet then was Approved, and didn't become 'Processed'. An 'Approved' staus meant I couldn't change the calendar setting s etc for the employee. It becasme a challenge to do what was necessary to get the status to 'Processed'.

    Hi team, just returning to this idea, I've slightly amended the title and we'll move across to delivered.

    As mentioned in my last update, you can use the Leave requests report which will show the start and end dates, as well as units and dollar amount. It's also possible to run the report for all, or just specific employees for the period. 🙂

  3. In the same way that there are tick boxes for "Exempt from PAYG withholding", "Exempt from SGC" & "Reportable as W1" on Pay Items, can we have a check box for Subject to or Exempt from PTX & Workers Compensation so that a report can be generated for Payroll Tax & Workers Compensation calculations.

  4. As the automatic journal for payroll is not able to be viewed before posting to accounts, we should have the option to turn off automatic journals. Currently, we have to post, then go back and do another journal to split out ER NI & Pension for different departments. This system is so unflexible.

  5. Would we please be able to see staff leave at the same time when entering timesheets?

    This would be beneficial to see both when approving timesheets instead of opening up two screens.

  6. Ability to restrict which pay items an employee can view in Xero Me to only those that apply to that employee. Without this ability employees sometimes choose pay items that do not apply to them. Most often this is picked up at the authorisation stage but why allow the possibility for error in the first place.

  8. Hi Team, Im not sure if this has been raised, but can we get the ability when setting up an employee to be able to allocate a % of their salary costs between different department / cost centres. At this stage we do not have the option of splitting salary costs without having to do manual journals

  9. Payroll doesn't refresh data unless you scroll up and down inside an employees pay all the time
    Can you fix this ? Even if you had a button which you could hit to pull changes
    into pay amounts quicker
    It takes a long time waiting doing the payroll when putting in hours and different rates for each employee each week for the amounts to change and pull through properly

  10. Unscheduled payruns - the ability to not include pending leave. When processing bonuses etc, Xero automatically puts in the up coming leave even though it is not appropriate to be included in this unscheduled payrun and should be in the standard payrun. Because we pay monthly this only exacerbates the situation. To have the option to not include the leave in that payrun would help with this.

  11. It would be helpful to edit the layout of the Overview payroll dashboard, as you can do with the normal Xero accounting dashboard.

    I can't understand why the 'pay employees' widget is at the bottom, surely running payroll is the primary function so why isn't that at the top? Not all business use the leave and timesheet function, they should be considered secondary.

  12. Xero recommends creating a new, duplicate employee record when a terminated employee returns to the organisation. This can also happen when an employee switches from permanent to casual, as they need to be terminated to pay out annual leave.

    Due to HR add-ons that make the issue of setting up a new, duplicate employee in Xero extremely complicated and almost unworkable, I would really like to see an additional workflow in Xero to handle this. When unterminating an employee, I'd like to see Xero asking whether we're doing this to fix something or because we're rehiring the same…

  13. The witholding variation should be on top of the existing PAYG calculation not overrides it, as it currently does. If an employee completes a MyGov employee Tax Form and notes they want an additional % amount variation withheld - it should be on top of their existing PAYG tax, not instead of it. There is no other option to put in a percentage amount in XERO.

    Or allow the upward variation amount to be a percentage amount - not just a fixed amount.

    The screenshot attached shows this employee should be paying tax on the full amount (no threshold claimed)…

  14. In the Employee section, under Employment Tab:
    Have a section/box for Award - maybe a drop down menu to choose from? There are only 122 Awards and that doesn't change.
    (as well as classification box - don't remove that)

  15. Please adjust the Leave Authorisers in Xero Me to be the employees in the business with Payroll Admin &/or the Authority to Approve Leave.
    Currently all user with PAyroll Admin are available for selection - which includes ALL advisors.
    As an accountant - we are having to revoke our access to a client's payroll to ensure that the staff in the client's business cannot select the accountant's staff members to approve their leave.

  16. Allow Xero users permission to authorise employee timesheets. At the moment only the payroll administrator or specific employee has the ability to do this. Payroll permissions under settings/users should be expanded to be more granular, with an option to allow users permission to authorise timesheets. Alternatively, under the employee details in Payroll, an option to select authorised Xero users whom may sign off timesheets for that user.

    This change was specific to users of the Australian payroll.


    Apologies, and we'll shift this idea back to 'Submitted' so we can continue to track and share if there are developments in New Zealand Payroll.


    However, at the moment this is not in the team's plans.

  19. Currently the super funds appear in the super settings page in no particular order. It would be great if they appear in order so its easier to find and check if they have already been added or if a payment bounces and you need to check details.

  20. To enhance efficiency and save time, it would be highly beneficial to integrate the payroll system in Xero with Crezco Online Banking. This integration would allow wages to be paid directly through Xero, similar to how bills are currently managed. By automating the connection between Xero's payroll system and Crezco, users could avoid the manual process of downloading payroll documents, uploading them to Crezco, and processing payments. This streamlined approach would significantly reduce administrative tasks and improve overall productivity.
