  1. There isn’t the ability to have a ‘reporting name’ for a bank account name on the Chart of accounts
    (. e.g. you either have to update the name in the system (problematic for live files where the client names accounts based upon their use and not in out reporting name format) or manually create a group with the correct name when drafting the financials to replace the account name.

    Thanks for your images showing what you're meaning here, Zoe. Makes it super clear for others and our product teams. 

    Appreciate it's not the ideal solution but good to hear you're aware of how you can group and rename an account through the Financial reports at present. We'll keep an eye on the interest in this, here. 

  2. Can we please have the ability to see if a note has been added to a document when you are in the Hubdoc APP without having to go into a document.

    The ability to see this is available in the Web version, would be great to see it in the APP as well.

  3. After grouping accounts using the 'edit layout' function it would be great to be able to either expand or collapse each group while viewing the report, rather than having to go back into the 'edit layout' section to change the way the group appears.

  4. When paying bills using Crezco use the "Details" field from the Supplier Contact / Finance as the payment reference.
    For instance if a supplier has given us a unique ID on there system as "DME002" use this reference in the payment field when doing Crezco payments.
    FYI. It used to be this way with Wise payments? but has now changed as we move over to Crezco?

  5. The same way a direct debit file is created for Creditors, it would be great if Xero could create a direct credit file for Debtors. We direct credit over 200 debtor accounts weekly. As Xero isnt able, we do it externally and use a bank template. If Xero can creatre a direct debit file, I dont see why it cant create a direct credit file. The only change is the bank ID. Our previous clunky software could do it and banks are able to upload a direct credit file.

  6. Unscheduled pay run - most of my unscheduled pay runs are paid on the day of creation.
    It would be good to be able to change the payment date to the actual date of payment instead of the date selected by the unscheduled pay run.

    E.g. unscheduled pay run for the week ending 13th Aug has a payment date of 16th Aug yet payment may have been made on 18th Sep.

  7. If you have multiple invoices for the same client, a feature that allows you the option to automatically apply bank transactions receiving money from the client to the oldest invoices first moving closer to date would be mighty helpful. At the current moment, we have to manually split out each transaction to the invoices when reconciling bank transactions; it stands to reason that if you have a client with multiple invoices and they pay off in chunks, you would want to apply payments to their oldest debt first; having this as a selectable option for a contact / bank rule…

  8. Can we please have the ability to set a due date for an expense? Currently it is set as the day it is approved, but we pay all our expenses for the whole month, on the 15th of the following month. It would be good to be able to set this as default for any expenses raised.

    Hi community, thanks for continuing to engage, and sharing your needs in adding more layers to your chart of accounts structure.

    We know especially for some of our US customers that this can sometimes be a show stopper in using of Xero.

    Right now, we do have a product team that have begun exploring the efforts that'd be required to implement a change of this nature - while we can't commit to any development at this point we'll share any progression with you all here. Thanks

  10. I have a client whose workers use toll gates daily, often returning on the same day. Xero sees this as a duplicate expense and delete the second transaction.
    It would help if Xero can create a report showing these duplicates and giving the option to pull them into the bank.

  11. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE add an option to Payroll that allows employer expenses to be processed. The Union our company is a member of insists we pay as an employer expense into a redundancy program and also an income protection program for each employee. The Union demands that the payments are detailed on each employees payslip. We can only do this if we have an employer expense option. One of my clients in the United Kingdom uses the UK version of XERO and their version allows for this. Come on Australia, catch up!!!

  12. you should be able to confirm your account with a secondary email. I got locked out of my primary email, and Xero thought my normal log in was suspicious. I had not way to confirm my account. I have a secondary email. What is the point of the secondary email if there is no way to use it to confirm my account? Or use my phone for a text confirmation.

  15. When creating an Invoice from a quote within Projects, the newly created invoice does not retain any connection to the Project that the quote is linked to. This is very annoying and time-consuming - as the only way to then link the Invoice to the Project is to manually select and assign every individual line item, one by one and map them against the project. Surely this is an easy fix to keep an Invoice linked to a project as the quote was? Why would you disassociate an invoice from a project that it directly relates to??

  16. Right now, we see average days we pay or receive payment. It would be good if we can have another row that shows us the payment terms we have with the contact so we can benchmark against performance that way. The data is already in Xero, just need to show it.

  17. There is an issue with the new contact edit settings, we cannot add IBAN in account number and swift in routing numberFinancial details. Since we have vendors globally, not everyone have US routing and acct number only. This needs to be fixed since we are relying on the bank details updated in contact

    Hi everyone, thanks for your on-going involvement in the idea here.

    We understand many of our customers are trading internationally. While we haven't been able to deliver a solution as yet, this is still high on our radar.

    Right now, depending on the country selected when setting up organisations will have different field options - Sort code in UK, BSB code in AU and Routing number in US. This explains the differences some in the conversation have mentioned. I appreciate it's not a solution but for the time being any extra detail (IBAN or any other banking detail) for the contact could be added as a note to the contacts record that can be looked up before making payments.

    For our UK customers that have set up international bill payments - Though not direct from Contacts you can edit and save international payment details for a supplier through the flow…

  18. On the dashboard, be able to reorder the accounts in the watchlist. At the moment they are shown by default in alphabetical order and can't be reordered.

    Hi community, as much as we were amped to share that there was work begun to solve for the idea, unfortunately this has been pushed back for now while the team get through a few other developments that are taking priority. As soon as there's change or news to share around the Account Watchlist we'll update you on this, here. 

  19. Having the ability to invoice a percentage of each task in a project.
    Our company invoices as a job progresses e.g 20% of one task is completed the first month, and then 50% has been completed the following month.
    At this stage, I am only able to apply a 'discount' to alter the amount invoiced (while still maintaining the full contract amount on the invoice as a reference to clients). When doing this, it also marks that task as invoiced and I am unable to further invoice. The only alternative to this, is invoicing for a project amount and still…

    Thanks for your feedback on the thread. Though not useful for all, we did bring attention to the reports that could help some people in the forums here. 

    We'll continue to consider this and other ideas for customer statements as the platform evolves. 

    Again not a full resolve but another option that could be handy for some is the inclusion of the Outstanding bills link when sending individual invoices to your customers. Through this, persons of a contact will be able to view and get detail of the invoices they have outstanding with you at any given time.
