Thanks for sharing in the idea here, Faye! While we don't have plans to change the current set up - as suggested when you choose to "Add Holiday" rather than selecting one of the drop down options, you can just type in the Holiday that you want to add.

  3. Currently, Xero lists a super accrual for employees under the age of 18 when they earn over $450/mth. However, it doesn't take into account how many hours that employee works per week. Under 18s are not eligible to be paid super unless they work over 30 hours per week (even if they earn over $450/mth), but Xero doesn't recognise this. Unfortunately this shows up a s liability for the employer, even though a liability doesn't exist. I know that it can be worked around in the pay run, but it just means extra work for the payroll admin - particularly…

  4. It would be really helpful if there was a report that showed the actual amount of hours worked per month per individual and as a total. Our company has busy seasons, as well as quiet seasons and having a report like this would help us in planning our staffing situation.

  5. Workers Comp pay item leave accrual idea.

There is an option to "Accrue Leave for this Earnings Rate" when setting up the WC pay item.

What would be good is the option to accrue for AL or PL separately as this alters according to state law eg in WA, AL is accrued but not PL on WC payments.

  6. NZ Payroll - update minimum wage increases automatically

There are other payroll system they do this, and with the minimum wage requirements changing every year, there should be an automatic update or prompt to change anyone who is affected by this, to avoid the error in not paying out correctly as per the legislation,

  7. It would be great to be able to filter by the PAYROLL DATE not just the DUE DATE for Superannuation Payments.
This would make it a lot easier when creating smaller super batch payments.
Currently, we pay our 100 staff's super each month (30 days after) and this means I need to manually click next to each individual payment line. I can multi-select all, but that will select every single line for all months.

  8. Would be great to get the Payment Summary Details report to include a filter for Superannuation
There doesn't seem to be a report that easily shows all payroll information by Employee Group.

  9. I have a number of clients that have employees that are paid a daily rate rather than an hourly rate. We currently can't use Xero payroll for them as the payroll needs to use hours rather than days to pay. It would be great to use Xero if there was an option to pay a daily rate rather than an hourly rate.

  10. It would be great if there was an option (tick the box) to copy last week's wages for the current week for payroll. I have casual staff who sometimes have the same hours as the previous week's so not having to replicate this would be great and the quickest way would be to have a tick the box which can copy it across to the current payroll

  11. A type of tax code should be possible in which the tax is subtracted from, rather than added to, the invoiced amount for that line item.

Rationale: Many countries require that a foreign supplier's invoice be subject to withheld tax if the supplier doesn't have a satisfactory tax treaty entitlement.

    Example:

We use a reverse-invoice process for our Australian supplier to record payments due to them based on our activity. This activity often attracts a royalty fee that we must pay.

The UK requires us to withhold 5% of this royalty fee, and pay this over HMRC quarterly.

    To create…

Hey team, if you'd like to see a report that shows changes made to payroll such as salary changes, you can use the Payroll History report.

It can be run for a specified date range and will show the date the changes were made, what the changes were, the employee affected and the user who made the changes.

  13. When a company changes their payroll frequency to a new calendar there is no prompt to adjust the leave accrual.

For instance, I recently changed my client from Fortnightly to Monthly Calendar.
I adjusted each employee to the new calendar.

On their Leave tab in the set-up of the leave accrual it asked the question:
Hours a full-time employee works in a Fortnightly pay period
When I changed the calendar to monthly this question changed to:
Hours a full-time employee works in a Monthly pay period
There was however no prompt to adjust the answer, the previous answer just transferred…

  14. We allocated a number for each employee and would like to display it in the pay slip. It would be great if xero can allocate a space similar to the existing employee tax number.

    Thanks for voting and feeding back through Xero product ideas. You may have heard that we’re making some changes to Global Pay Run that we believe will help our customers manage payroll more effectively;

    - From 23 July 2025 Global Pay Run will become read-only. You'll still be able to see all your past payroll information, however you will not be able to process any new pay runs after this date.

    - Global Pay run will be retired after April 2026, at which point you'll no longer be able to access pay run.

With this focus, we want to be upfront that there are no intentions to make improvements to Global Pay Run moving forward, and I'll move any ideas related to this to Not planned.

If you're from a region where we offer dedicated payroll products (AU, NZ and UK) specifically designed for your regions unique requirements, you…

  15. Employers are only required to pay superannuation guarantee up to a quarterly threshold (maximum contribution base). At the moment Xero doesn’t cap the super at this level, and will allow super above the cap to be booked. (In fact, to limit the super at the cap requires a work-around adding 2 lines, one with 0% super and another with the fixed amount up to the cap.). Employers can easily overpay their employees’ super. This functionality needs to be built into Xero.

Hi everyone, thank you for your feedback and I do want to apologise for any confusion my update's caused. You're correct in that the responsibility outlined in my response is relevant to the concessional contribution cap. Seeing your responses today, we now appreciate that the idea here is specifically around the maximum contribution base.

I want to assure you this is something our product teams are paying close attention to and though we don't have any immediate plans we can share, we will consider this request as we continue to plan our roadmap - We encourage you to share any further details on your experiences related to managing the maximum contribution base as these will be helpful to the product team as they assess this feature.

  16. Could Xero start looking at a drop down box on the allowance to have one as Not Reportable (alongside the other catagories eg. Meals, Tools, Car), and to have it out for STP reporting? or another checkbox down the bottom along with the withholding tax, super, and W1 questions?
Instead of going through the long winding process of creating an ordinary earning, remove as deduction and do a reimbursement as per https://central.xero.com/s/article/Process-special-pay-items-like-living-away-from-home-allowance

  17. Xero needs to have an option in either Income Type or Tax Scale for employees on the Seasonal Worker Program, ie PALM Workers, so that the system automatically taxes them at the flat rate of 15%.

At the moment I have approx 33 such employees and I must adjust their tax in every single payrun.

The ATO have a specific code (W > P) that should be used for these workers under STP Phase 2 reporting. I refer you to the table at the following website page: https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/Single-Touch-Payroll/In-detail/Single-Touch-Payroll-Phase-2-employer-reporting-guidelines/?page=5#Tax_treatment

  18. Can we please have the ability to add effective start and end dates against pay items. For example, a deduction may only be for 10 weeks at a set amount. Rather than having to setup multiple notes offline to remind us of this, can't we have this function setup in the payroll system so it only deducts the amount over the set period specified?

Hi everyone, we're looking into this product idea as part of research we're doing on managing employees and we'd love for you to help us get it right!

Particularly, we're looking at our customer's experiences onboarding new hires and setting them up in payroll. If you'd' be willing to have a chat with our product team about this, it'll take about 60 minutes via video call.

If you're interested in taking part, please apply using this link - It'll only take a few minutes to fill in and your answers are confidential.

We really appreciate your time, and I'll be back to share any progress that comes from this work. Thanks!

  20. If in a 'normal' pay run an employee takes Annual Leave then Leave loading is shown as a separate line item - clear to the payroll person and the employee. However in a Final Pay run it does not show. Being consolidated with the leave sum is not obvious. Please keep to the 'normal' format, then it's clear to everyone
