1. Sales | Batch Deposit in Foreign Currency

   Xero currently lacks the capability to bulk pay multi-currency invoices. This creates a significant bottleneck for our clients with a default currency of USD who process hundreds of invoices in EUR each month. While it is possible to import invoices in EUR in bulk, marking each invoice as paid individually is extremely time-consuming and inefficient. Please consider implementing a feature that allows users to bulk pay invoices in the same foreign currency. This enhancement would streamline the workflow for businesses handling large volumes of international transactions, saving time and reducing manual effort.

3. AU Payroll - HH:MM entry format for timesheets

   It would be wonderful to have the option to use HH:MM format for timesheet entries, instead of only decimal time. Hard to convince employees to do timesheets as it is, but to also ask them to convert two weeks of project works over numerous jobs into decimal format is a big ask! Not many people are used to entering 4.6667 hrs instead of 4hrs 40min. If this is a feature of Xero Practice Manager, can it not be easily made available to the rest of us?

4. MFA - Move cursor to code field automatically

   When I login to Xero, I enter my email address and password and am taken to the second page (MFA).

   I'm then asked for the authenticator code, but I have to click into the field to enter the code.

   Xero knows that there is an almost 100% likelihood that the first (and only) thing I am going to do on that page is enter the MFA code.

   Xero should automatically have the cursor in that field so that I can type the code without clicking into the field.

5. Auto sales tax - Ability to edit invoice with auto sales tax

   This is a known issue that needs to be voted on to be prioritized.

   The Auto Sales Tax feature in Xero (from Avalara) disallows the ability to edit an Invoice account category. This is a huge limitation that will have massive repercussions as time goes on. Please fix this promptly.

   We need to be able to select "All Dates" on a report. ex. I want to see a report for a certain account from the start of my business to the current date. now I need to select beginning date and then todays date and the update.

   Thanks for sharing this great idea for improving efficiency in reports.

   For anyone looking to achieve this now, you can view transactions across all time by selecting a custom date range in your reports. By setting the start date to your organisation's first transaction date and the end date to today, you can get a full historical view of your data.

   We see the value in your suggestion to add a preset 'All Time' or 'All Dates' option, which would make this process a faster, one-click action.

7. Lock date - Separate lock dates for sales Tax and accounting period

   Separation between Sales Tax/VAT/GST lock date and accounting period lock date.
   It would save a significant amount of time if VAT periods in Xero could have a separate lock date than the accounting period lock date. For instance, an invoice/bank transaction is still outstanding when filing a VAT return, and the VAT return date could be locked so once this outstanding transaction is completed at a later date, it would automatically appear on the next VAT return. This should be separated from the accounting period lock dates, as you still want to account for that transaction in it's relevant period, without it influencing the Sales Tax/VAT Report that has already bene filed. Currently accountants need to run this review manually to ensure no transactions are missed or accounted for twice when filing a return.

   Hi everyone, thanks for all your votes and comments on this idea. Just a quick update to let you know that this request is still open for voting and comments from the community.

   We're keeping an eye on the demand for this idea here, and will be sure to post another update if changes are made in this area.

8. Organisation settings - Setting to remove data 7+ years old

   In NZ we are required by law to keep 7 years of records for the IRD (tax department). I make a point of destroying old financial records that are older than 7 years. Xero doesn't have a mechanism to purge old data. I see in my Xero I full record including invoices, supplier invoices and financial data back to Jan 2014.

   I would like to see a system whereby old data was completely wiped, and summary starting figures created for the purged data period, say as at the start of each tax year, for me 1 April 2018 so that the Xero calculations etc still worked.

   This would be summary data like opening balances, exactly the same as if you started Xero transferring from a different financial management system.

   Surely this is good for Xero too, because as the years tick by, your storage today contains everyone's old data, even though by law I am not required to hold financial records older than 7 years.

   That also ticks the green box by reducing storage which equals less electricity and resources consumed, holding on to attachments and data that clients like me don't want to keep and legally are not required to do so.

   Appreciate why you'd like to remove older data from your org after a long period, Steven. Generally we don't want to be touching our customers data, and this isn't something we have plans for implementing. However, we'll get a sense of the interest from others in this here, for our product teams to consider.

   Right now, if you'd like to remove older data there are a couple of options;

   • You could start a new organisation from the date you'd like to keep records from, setting up the organisation with conversion balances from that date. You could also export and import information from the old org to the new one.
   • Change the conversion balances in your existing org and remove older data prior to this date

9. AU Payroll - Automatically exhaust paid leave before unpaid leave is applied

   Payroll - Auto calculate the leave entitlement on employee including the accrual from the current pay period to exhaust all leave before unpaid leave is applied.

10. New Invoicing | Send - Copy & paste multiple emails into the To field

    When sending a new invoice to a client with multiple contacts, I find the most recent invoice relevant to the current project and copy the email details from the History and Notes entry for the action Invoice Sent.
    If there is more than one email address, the old invoicing used to recognise that a comma separated the email addresses. I could paste that into the 'To' box without issue.
    BUT IN THE NEW INVOICING, I get an error message when pasting multiple emails into the 'To' box: "One or more email addresses are invalid."
    This means that I have to copy and paste each email address separately, which is fine if I'm only doing this once. Over multiple invoices, it gets very frustrating.
    Can the new invoicing recognise that a comma between email address means that there is more than one? Or can the History and Notes formatting be changed in such a way that copying and pasting will work with the new invoicing?

    Hi everyone, we wanted to return and give you an update here. As mentioned in our last post - we want to be forth right that we don't have any plans to remove 'Powered by Xero' from emails sent from Xero, with intentional purpose and based on findings from interactions we can see having true benefit to customers in getting paid faster. 

    That said, we appreciate the feedback we've received and have made changes since this was initially raised to reduce the size of the footer where this is shown and have removed the hyperlink to xero.com. We will continue to develop the invoice email to continue to drive improvements for our customers and the ways you receive payments.

12. Donation receipts

    As a charity funded entirely by donation we receive the majority of funds via online bank receipts. Because the bank receipt is standard, I currently manually create a receipt for our donors in word which I can attach to the bank receipt transaction and email to the donor. This is very time-consuming and I think it would be a very easy fix to allow customisation as with invoices

13. Dashboard - Edit dashboard layout

    Dashboard- It would be great if Xero gave us more options to edit out Dashboards. Two colums are not enough, at the most I get to see four accounts before I have to scroll, they needn't be so large either. If they had three colums, and we could shrink the size of the 'boxes' then we could easily see a better snapshot of work to do and where the business is at.

14. New invoicing - Keep the send button

    On the classic invoicing there is a send button at the top by email, print pdf etc that you can use to send to another xero customer. This feature is no longer on the new invoicing version. It would be good to have the send button back

    Hi Samantha, when referring to send would this be the 'Email' button in classic?

    If so this is actually still available in new invoicing, you'll find the option in the 3 dot menu at the top of the page 🙂

15. Manual Journals - Ability to post journal entries to bank/cash accounts

    Remove the limitation on posting manual journal entries to bank/cash accounts. I end up spending way too much time on manual workarounds (payroll entries for example, you have to use a "bill" to replace the functionality of a journal entry). It ends up taking way more time working around the limitation than its worth. As a new user of Xero, I'm incredulous. I've worked with multiple accounting software platforms over the years, and never been exposed to such a massive limitation like this. It's almost a dealbreaker, and for some clients it certainly is. I've been looking for a viable alternative to Intuit for a while. I generally like Xero - customer service is significantly better than Intuit, and the pricing is better too. Unfortunately, if this limitation is not removed in the near future, I fear that I will have to go back to using QBO. Xero please fix so that I don't have to do that.

    Thanks for the added detail, everyone. It's good to be able to share this detail back with our teams.

    Appreciate why Bank Rules won't help for cash accounts and where you don't have a bank feed coming into the account.

    Being open, this isn't something we have plans for changing in the short-term. We'll leave the idea open for our product team to continue considering how we could improve efficiency in some of the situations you've described. If there are any updates we'll share this with you all here.

16. Expenses - Chart of accounts list

    Need to ability to limit the list of accounts for each user and then allow the approver to have access to all chart of accounts to re-assign the expense.
    Staff don't understand accounts requirements to be able to choose the correct account.
    Also need to make it simple for users.

    Hi community, thanks for supporting this idea for Xero Expenses.

    While there isn't currently a way to limit the Chart of Accounts for individual users, there is a way to shorten the list of accounts for all staff who submit expenses - you can find out more about this on Xero Central.

    This may help streamline your processes, while this idea is still open for support from other community members.

17. Invoicing - Create a Credit Note from a Paid invoice

    We raise an invoice to a client.
    They pay it.
    Then for some reason, something changes.
    We need to raise a credit note against that invoice!

    I know I can create a new one from scratch but I want the history with this particular invoice and all the other details that I have already typed into it.

    What I DON'T want - is to delete the payment, create the credit note, delete the allocation of the credit to the invoice, then reapply the original payment.

    It is not an option within Xero to 'copy to draft' and create a negative invoice (Credit Note).

    Hi team, thank you for the detail in the flows you have when trading that create the need in being able to create a credit note from a paid invoice in Xero.
