  1. I would like a subscription option for a "super only" payroll for 20+ contractors. I do not need all the payroll functions as these are contractors who I pay from an invoice, but I do need to pay their super. There is absolutely no need for me to pay for the top tier payroll subscription, when we only have 2 people actually on payroll, but 20+ people who we need to pay super to.

  2. It would be very helpful if there were the ability to set up Reminders in Xero Payroll for certain dates such as birthdays and apprenticeship anniversaries so that you would know to change the employee's Pay Rate accordingly.

  3. It would be very useful to have a report that shows at a glance when each employee last had a pay rise. Like an extra column in the Employee Remuneration Report. Or an audit report that shows the history of pay changes for all employees in one place.

  4. Currently Xero does not assign annual leave and public holiday to a project/job as timesheet doesn't have this function.
    Superannuation generates from payroll (pay run) , however, there is no place to allocate superannuation to different projects/jobs as well.

  6. When running employee leave transaction reports, it would be good for this report to also include employee unpaid leave, as presently this option is not available. The only way to run an unpaid leave report is to run a leave request report, export and edit as required. We have to submit reports to the ADMS for our apprentice claims, and a report including all leave is required.

As I am an external accountant to several client, each with several pay-calendars across numerous entities, I would much appreciate if the ABA files (much like pdf reports) could be given a naming convention that ties the ABA clearly to entity, and pay-calendar when I screen through my downloads.

  8. Workers Comp pay item leave accrual idea.

    There is an option to "Accrue Leave for this Earnings Rate" when setting up the WC pay item.

    What would be good is the option to accrue for AL or PL separately as this alters according to state law eg in WA, AL is accrued but not PL on WC payments.

  9. Payroll reports - it will be good to have a COMPARISION field on payroll reports just like the P&L - to compare with previous n number of months / periods.

    While the grouping / summarizing features are good - they are limited to just reporting on a particular period.

    Hence any Comparisions are tedious to run / export and consolidate on excel.

    For. eg. I'd like to run a report to display :
    Afternoon Shift Loading & Overtime work for a month OR the full FY with monthly columns.
    Is this something we can get to without having to export…

  10. Please give us the option to split the base rate and casual loading items WHILE working with a timesheet. At the moment this has be manually done in every pay run if we want to show the loading separately.

  11. Right now there’s no functionality in Xero to record credit card account in an employees records, by adding this feature would allow payroll to be paid directly to a credit card.

  13. SSP EXTENSION; There needs to be a way of extending SSP
    Most people who are off sick are not aware of when they will return, it is often necessary to be able to extend SSP. It is not acceptable to have a process that requires reverting payroll. I am still trying to get almost £5000 back from HMRC because Xero reported the variance in April as an additional payroll & the YTD figures have not corrected the issue. Reverting payroll should be the very last resort & not used for something as standard as stat sick leave.

  15. I think it would be fantastic if expenses were able to be linked to payroll/ pay run. Expenses are great and the app is really easy to use but from a processing point, most firms pay with their the payroll. You currently you have to create a expense suspense and clear the expenses to that and then manually add the expenses to payroll which also get posted to the expense suspense- it all a bit of a hassle and would be fantastic if the expenses could just be added to payroll, in the same way the…

  16. When an employee has a postponed autoenrollment the pension doesn't prompt or show up until just before the payment run has been posted. Making any prior payroll reports and payslips incorrect as the pension then tags on at the end. So reports then need to be reprinted and balanced again.

    Can the prompt no show up at the start of the pay run? This will then save any duplicated reports and potential incorrect payments.

    Also the pension filing report viewable before the RTI posting.

  18. In the age of outsourcing, it is impossible to outsource pay run function to an external service provider (especially if they are based overseas) since they can view employee's personal info such as their Tax File Number, Date of Birth, Bank account Details etc.

    Once the subscriber or authorized accountant/bookkeeper has created an employee card, they should be able to restrict the access of outsourced partner to just doing the pay run.   19. Tronc pay item to be set up as PAYE applied only. Currently there are 2 options but one has PAYE and pension applied, the other has PAYE, NI and pension applied.
    The standard Tronc set up is PAYE only, yet there is not pay item for this.

  20. If employees are putting their expenses onto Xero Projects then you should be able to pull a report and pay their expenses from it. Otherwise they are going to have to duplicate work by putting it on Projects and then submitting an expense claim.

    Maybe a case of understanding your workflows here a bit better, Rachel. Currently when entering an expense through Xero Expenses you can assign to Projects so these'll attach and show against your Projects in Xero - Would be great to get more details if there's something in here which requires duplication.
