Homepage - Remove animations
Provide an option to eliminate animations. The growing bars is a distraction, I find myself waiting for the movement to stop before proceeding. I'm here to work, I want the information - I'm not here for entertainment.
3 votesThanks so much for taking the time to share how the moving graphs on the homepage feel for you – I’m really sorry they’re causing frustration and distraction.
We introduced the animations to help bring key information (like money in and out, or what’s owed and due) to life and make it easier to see changes at a glance when the page first loads, rather than having everything appear as a static block of numbers. The bars “rising” from the baseline are there to show the most up-to-date figures and make comparisons a bit clearer, not to get in the way of your work.
That said, we completely understand that movement on screen doesn’t work well for everyone, and it’s important you can focus on your tasks without visual noise. At the moment there isn’t a way to turn these homepage graphs off, or to disable the animation just for…

Remove the "Import bank statement" link
We don't need to see this link against every bank account on the homepage. The link in the ellipsis is enough.
3 votesHey Jonathan., I completely understand that you personally don’t need the Import bank statement option there.
However, we’ve chosen to keep it visible because, across all Xero organisations, it’s actually one of the most frequently used actions on the bank widget.
Many businesses still rely on manual statement uploads at different times – for example when a bank doesn’t support feeds, there’s a gap in the data, or a feed is temporarily unavailable.
So while it might not be something you use every day, it’s a key shortcut for a lot of other customers, which is why it still appears on the homepage.
If your feeds are working well, you can safely ignore it – it’s simply there as a convenient backup when it’s needed.

Homepage - Add new bank accounts to homepage by default
Automatically show new bank accounts on the Homepage
When a new bank account is added in Xero, it currently defaults to being hidden until the user manually clicks “Add to homepage.” This creates an extra, unnecessary step.
Suggestion:
Have newly added bank accounts appear on the Homepage by default, with the option to hide them if users prefer. This would streamline the setup process and reduce friction for users who expect new accounts to be visible immediately.3 votesHi team, after further discussion with our product team we're going to open this idea back up and would like to better understand the wider interest for being able to add new bank accounts as a default to the Homepage.
As mentioned in our last update at present.
- When you add your very first bank account to your Xero org, this automatically appears as a widget on your Homepage
- After this, additional bank accounts you add prompt a banner so you're made aware there are new accounts, and you can Edit your Homepage to add each of them as a widget to your view and arrange where these sit on the page.
We'd be really keen to get further insights through your feedback here on why showing every bank account by default would be most useful to your business, as opposed to being able to Edit the homepage and add…

Xero Tax (UK) - MTD for IT running total on homepage
Include MTD running total for self-employed and landlords.
Tracking tax payable can help inform decisions about, for example, pension contributions, investing in property upgrades or paying off mortgages that affect tax bills.3 votesThanks for sharing this idea about MTD running totals for self-employed individuals and landlords.
We appreciate you highlighting how visibility into tax payable could support financial planning decisions.

Homepage - Add “New Mileage Claim” button in Expenses widget
Would it be possible to add in a "Create New Mileage Claim" in the 'Expenses' section of the new Homescreen? Currently there is a button to 'Create new Expense', but I know of a lot of Xero users that have significantly more mileage claims to input than expense claims, so having the quick shortcut option for the mileage element would be far more efficient.
3 votesThanks for your feedback on adding a dedicated mileage claim button to the homepage. We appreciate you sharing how this could streamline your workflow, especially for those processing mileage claims regularly.

Homepage | Bills to pay - View for bills Due today
Hi we really need the homepage Bills widget to display bills due for payment TODAY.
We receive a lot of bills and we pay them on the due date.
Currently it is not easy to find bills due today among all the bills awaiting payment.
The widget displays overdue bills, it could easily show shows due today so we can easily display and pay them.
Thanks
3 votesAppreciate your feedback, and explaining how viewing bills due today from the homepage would help your business, Rick.
Right now we're watching all feedback we're getting about the new Homepage closely. We'll get a sense of the community interest for this here and share if there are any updates. Thanks

Homepage | Banking widget - Real Time Balance (included future payments)
There should be a widget that shows current bank balance, that includes future payments. The current one only shows bank statement balance, and balance in Xero that only shows up to the current date. But when paying bills, it's nice to know the current balance after other future payments to have a full idea of cash flow available. This widget should then also follow through to the bills pages so I can pay bills and see my balance in real-time to make better plans of which and when bills should be paid.
3 votesThanks for your feedback, Aaron. It's good to get a sense of interest in others that would find this view useful. We'll start to track through your idea here.

Homepage - "Renew HMRC Connection" link in the VAT Returns widget
VAT status in home page needs to link to HMRC to renew link as on old version. For reasons I don't understand the link does frequesntly need renewing. I had to switch back to old version to do this today.
3 votesHi everyone, thanks for raising this.
We know that when your HMRC connection expires, not being able to renew it directly from the dashboard can slow things down.
For now, the best way to reconnect is to head to Tax > VAT Return, then follow the prompts in settings to reconnect to HMRC.
I’ve moved this idea into Gaining Support so we can keep track of interest and share your feedback with our product team. It’s clear that having a simple “Renew” option on the VAT widget would make things easier, and your input helps us build a stronger case for it.

Homepage | Banking widget - Option to update feed login details
The 'update feed login' isn't available under the dropdown on the new page
3 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea. Being able to update bank feed login details directly from the dashboard would make it quicker to resolve connection alerts and keep your bank feeds running smoothly. We can see how having that action available right where the notification appears would help you get back to reconciliation faster.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and give our product teams visibility into how helpful a direct “Update login” option on the dashboard banking widget would be.

Homepage - Add a "Manage Bank Accounts" or "See All" link to the bank widgets
Please put the quick link button on the new layout to "manage bank accounts".
It's annoying it's not there now, I use it alot!3 votesHi Juliet, thanks for sharing this idea! A direct "See All" link on the dashboard would make it even easier to view and manage all your bank accounts in one place.
Right now, you can click into Accounting > Bank Accounts to see the full list, but having a single shortcut from the Homepage would help you move through your reconciliation tasks more smoothly. I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so our product teams can track interest and see how this could enhance the daily experience for users.

Homepage - Add shortcut to access Repeating Invoices list
On the "Invoices owed to you widget" please add a button to go straight to "repeating invoices." You currently have "New invoice" and "View all invoices." It looks like you have room to add "Repeating invoices." You could change the text from "View all invoices" to "All invoices" if you needed more room.
3 votesHi Maggie, appreciate you for sharing your idea and explaining how this would fit into your workflow. It’s helpful to understand where quicker access could make things run more smoothly day to day.
We’ve moved this idea into Gaining Support, so it’s now open for the community to add votes and comments. Seeing how others respond will help us understand how widely this need is shared.
As a short-term workaround, you could bookmark the Repeating Invoices page in your browser or pin that tab so it’s always within easy reach. It’s not quite the same as having a dashboard shortcut, but it can help shave off some time while we continue to gather feedback.

Homepage - Adaptive layout & zoom to fit for monitors with different aspect ratios
VISUAL: Adaptive layout & zoom to fit?
I use my widescreen monitor to use two windows side-by-side, but then the Xero window has a lot of negative space around the tabs (see image) and the only way I can find to make this larger is to zoom in the browser, but that makes all the browser items zoomed, which I don't want. If I enlarge the Xero tab, the layout adjusts to a sweet spot, but that also doesn't fit nicely on full screen, and I end up clicking between things more than is efficient, so it should ideally sit…
3 votesHi!
Thanks for sharing this idea about adaptive layout for monitors like your widescreen one.
We've reviewed this, and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit, so they can add their votes and comments about how they'd like this too!

New Homepage - Widget refresh button disappearing
If you're going to make us refresh every widget manually, don't remove the refresh button when we do. Let's leave it there in case we need to refresh again! We now have to refresh the whole page in order to have the widget refresh buttons return. How ridiculous
2 votesThanks for taking the time to share with us, here.
Refreshing of widgets in the new Homepage is only relevant to organisations with higher volumes of data. You can read more about this and recurrence of updates in our update on this idea.
When you click the refresh option the button will disappear as data's up to date at that point in time. However, to bring through latest changes (after an hour) or the option to manually refresh the widget the homepage does need to be refreshed.
Though we don't have any plans for changing the behaviour here in the short term, as shared on the other idea - we're always evolving our experience and will continue to evaluate how we can better serve high volume customers. Thanks

Home page | Profit or Loss widget - Independent toggle for accounting basis
Please derive the Home page Profit and Loss accounting basis from the business setup setting i.e. cash or Accrual.
This issue has been raised before and closed by a naive XERO person with no understanding of how a USER thikns or expects to use the system.
The request by the user is not "existing functionality" as stated by the incorrect Xero staff. Being instructed to leave the homepage, go the the Dashboard (some of us dont need to use those), changing a setting in a Dashboard widget and then come back to the Homepage is not a helpful instruction.
FYI…
2 votesHi Michael, appreciate you re-raising this idea with us and would like to provide some clarification on how Profit or loss widget accounting basis is currently derived.
This is driven by the organisations Report preferences - Report preferences can only be set and changed by a user with the Adviser role in the organisation so if you do not have this permission you would need to contact another user who does.
Understand there is also the request for having an independent toggle that can be actioned from the Homepage and we will continue tracing interest for this here.
In terms of how the idea forums statuses work - When a post is moved to Existing functionality, or Feedback comments and votes are turned off however if you disagree or would like to provide feedback about the response there is an option within the email update you'll have received so you…

Homepage | Tasks - Add quotes to follow up
on the home page, under Tab For Tasks - have one of the tasks showing Quotes that need to be followed up , like after 1 weeks
2 votesThanks for your idea, Ben. Appreciate for users that process quotes this could be quite useful as a quick indicator and action item.
We don't have immediate plans for this but are considering improvements to the tasks widget so will be sure to share if there are updates on this.
In the meantime, make sure to share your idea with other colleagues that'd find this useful and we'll get a sense of the wider interest in your idea here. 🙂

Homepage - Include the number of billable expenses outstanding in the tasks list
It would be great if the number of billable expenses - outstanding (as per the report of the same name) could be included in the tasks widget - ie expenses to be oncharged. Currently I have to run the report to check if there are any oncharges to complete, but it would be great if I could just see the number on the list. We use this feature for almost all of the organisations we look after (20+) and it would save time and ensure we are oncharging more promptly.
2 votesThanks for your feedback on this and sharing how this would be useful to your flows, Lisa. We're taking feedback about this widget on board and considering what additional items would be most useful to customers. I'll be sure to share any updates if there is progress for adding billable expenses to this view.

Homepage - Show expenses to review/pay in task list
When I add the "expenses to review" widget to the homepage, this shows the expenses that are needing approval, and how much is to be paid.
At the moment I have all my expenses reviewed, and some that now need payment. Why is this information also not replicated in the "Tasks" widget?
What is the point of a "Tasks" widget if it doesn't summarise all the needed actions highlighted across all the selected/displayed widgets? At the moment the listed tasks appear to only summarise a few widgets (and even then regardless of whether those widgets are selected to be shown…
2 votesAppreciate the feedback and how you'd find this information useful within the task widget. Our product teams are reviewing this widget to consider what additional items would be most useful for customers and your feedback here is welcomed. We'll be sure to let you know if we make plans to add expenses to this widget.
