    Hi everyone, thanks again for sharing input on widget placement on the homepage.

    As mentioned in our last update, once you Edit Homepage and Save the layout this will be saved for that screen size. If you change screens a prompt is also surfaced to explain that you may want to reset and save your layout.

    While we don’t have plans to allow vertical stacking at this stage, we're improving the edit experience. This will make it easier to see how changing a widget's position shifts other items on your screen. I’ll let you know as soon as this is released.

  2. I would like to set and track deadline dates on the dashboard for each client relating to statutory and other submissions (i.e. provisional tax / monthly management reports / tax return submissions / etc.).

    Hi everyone, appreciate the tractions on this idea.

    It's clear that having key tax and compliance dates visible on the dashboard would make it much easier to plan ahead and ensure due dates are met. When those deadlines live outside of Xero, it can mean extra admin and more mental load than necessary.

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can capture interest and share with the product team how valuable this added visibility would be.

  3. Widget for planned supplier bill payments - either a summary of total by planned date, or detailed view of the next planned date payments by supplier (e.g. flexes to show planned payments in current week). Helpful for review prior to batch payment runs.

  4. With many accounts on the homepage (for example multiple currency accounts), it would be great to be able to drop the widgets into a group. Almost like the iPhones home screen. The difference would be that I could have the ability to resize the group to display the widgets in the group so they could be seen all at one (if desired). e.g. A collapsable view. e.g. All my EUR accounts grouped together.

    Rather than making the group resizable to any size, it would be limited to a 3x1 or a 1x3 arrangement, Or some other practical variation

    Hi everyone, it makes a lot of sense to want a cleaner way to organise dashboard widgets. When related items like bank accounts or invoice summaries are grouped together, it’s easier to find what you need without much scrolling..

    For now, you can use the Edit dashboard button at the bottom of the page to reorder widgets—move your most-used ones to the top and hide the rest.

    This idea is now Gaining Support, so we can see how many others would like more control over dashboard layout. We’d love to hear how you’d group your widgets—keep the votes and comments coming!

  5. Where there are headings in the columns of the widget, being able to SORT by that heading..

    For eg, "expenses to review" can be sorted by any of the columns: "submitted by", "expenses to review" or "Amount".

    This would be helpful also in CoA watchlist, Recent Invoice payments or any other unseen widgets which have a list with column headings.

  6. Have a widget for custom reports.

    Appreciate the extra details shared by everyone here.

    We'll continue to get a track of the interest in a specific widget for accessing reports from the Homepage and share if there are any developments planned around this.

    Right now, just to highlight what is possible - You can favourite a report from the Reports centre including a custom report you've set up to make this accessible from the Reporting drop down menu in the navigation.

  7. Overall Cash Balance widget for Xero Dashboard. I actually love the Overall Cash Balance widget for the app. Can we have that as an option for the Xero Dashboard for the web version as well? It's handy to be able to log in and instantly see the total cash for my business.

  8. I like the new look. Can the Business overview heading be removed and the customise button be moved up to where it is in the old homepage, next to last login? Screen real estate is very precious, especially when the client has a lot of bank accounts/credit cards that fall off the bottom of the screen and can get easily missed.

  9. I would like to customise the columns that appear in the chart of accounts watchlist. I would like have yesterday's closing balance, last month's closing balance, and the change.

    I use the watchlist to monitor clearing accounts, such as daily takings clearing accounts, and being able to spot when a balance has gone awry would be very helpful not only for me but for our team who reconcile these clearing accounts.

    Would be even better if we could add more than one instance of the watchlist then we could have one for clearing accounts with the columns described above, and…

    Hi team, we appreciate interest and the value our customers have in using and being able to keep track that transactions have ben assigned to Tracking categories in your org.

    As we continue to develop Xero, ideas in the forums here are being considered closely by our product teams.

    I want to be upfront that we don't have any immediate plans for developing a Tracking widget or adding a tracking view to the existing widgets, but if any work is picked up around this we'll be sure to let you know here. Thanks

  13. Homepage PRIVACY - If could could please add a button, close to the top of the page, that allowed for sensitive data to be blurred with one toggle on/off. Sometimes you may still want to login and use something in a more public space, or perhaps show someone something in the system, but you do not want all your figures on display. I think this is quite an important one.

    Hiya team, appreciate all the input you've each shared with us on the needs in keeping some information private, and less visible to others that may be working close by.

    Understanding the needs here, I'd like to share this is a piece of work our team have picked up and in the initial stages of working through.

  14. Add a widget for tracking categories with current and prior month expenses against each or even the top 5 of each category.

    make the hope page printable to pdf and also for the user to be able to present it to a client or board.

  15. I would like the Business Performance graph to remain. Its a useful visual and instant reminder of the performance.

    Additionally adding the VAT liability to the home screen would be extremely useful. Yes I know it changes daily, however a good insight for business and management of cash flow in an instant (without having to produce reports).

    The contents of the proposed Task Bar is just a duplication of information that's already on the home screen therefore not useful to add them collectively on 1 widget. To be able to add our own written task and reminders on a calendar…

    Really good to hear you exploring the new homepage, Estela.

    We ask that each idea is contained to one feature request so that it's easy for other members to understand what they're voting for and we can best keep you updated on any progress on a feature. I've slightly amended the title of your idea here for the first you've shared on the Business Performance dashboard.

    We appreciate hearing how you find this useful, however we want to be upfront that we don't have intentions of adding this to the new Homepage, to make way for new features that will be coming soon. You'll be able to continue accessing key information from the Business Performance Dashboard page.

    The Tax & Reporting widget has been replaced by a new sales tax widget, and depending on your region this will be available in the next 12 months. We also have an idea

  16. At a glance, a running total of VAT and Corporation tax due. As a small business, this would be very helpful for planning. Crunch Accounting had this on their homepage and it is the only thing i miss about their very clunky system!

  17. Next Payroll Wiget for Homepage
    When the new homepage was launched, I was hoping for a widget that had the link to the next scheduled payroll, the draft amount, the due date, leave to approve, timesheets to approve, last payroll (perhaps), super payments, etc. Layout could be like the 'Bills to pay' widget without the chart. Given that in Australia, SGC will need to be paid each payroll, that draft amount could also be added in the widget, linking to the Super payments module.

We have various users from accounts administrator to operations managers and the new home screen will automatically show them extra information they don't necessarily need, as in, the operations managers should ideally have the bills and invoices front and centre and not really each other's credit cards. Also, the profit and loss widget is extremely annoying being there as our management is presented with monthly accrual basis accounts and use a custom P+L that require a large number of journals done so the profit and loss widget is wrong until the journals get done.     Hi Debbie, thanks for sharing this idea! Giving a Subscriber control over the team’s homepage layout would be really useful—helping everyone focus on the right tasks while keeping sensitive information private.

    Right now, each user customises their own dashboard, so it can be tricky for admins to know exactly what’s visible. For now, User Roles can limit access to certain data, or you can share a simple SOP with a screenshot of your preferred layout for staff to match.

    I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would find this helpful. Your feedback really helps guide what we look at next.

  19. We use cash basis for reporting, but utilize the COA watchlist in the accrual basis.

    Having the ability to choose your accounting basis on the Chart of Account watchlist would allow users to take full advantage of the COA watchlist without having to change their reporting basis to one basis to utilize the watchlist and back to the other for reporting.

    I can see how frustrating it is to have to jump back and forth into your Advanced Settings just to get the view you need on your dashboard.


    The Account Watchlist is meant to give you a quick "at-a-glance" look at your numbers, and having to change your global reporting basis to make it useful definitely adds extra steps to your day.


    I’ve assessed this and moved it to Gaining Support. This will allow our product team to see how many other users are running their operations on a different basis than their compliance reporting.


    I’ve also updated your title to: Dashboard - Independent accounting basis toggle for Account Watchlist to make it easier for others to find and vote on.

    Hi team, we appreciate the feedback we've received around the need to manually refresh widgets on the homepage for organisations with higher volumes of data.

    Our product teams have been paying close attention and monitoring usage and we have recently released an update that will improve the experience for these larger organisations - Reducing the automatic update from 24 hours to 1 hour. Meaning your data is more recent and up to date, and saving you from having to manually refresh as often. 🙂

    To reconfirm the rationale and how this works - To help the homepage load efficiently, some widgets in these organisations show data from the last 1 hour by default.

    • These widgets are designed to automatically update with the latest figures from the last 1 hour when you log in.
