  1. Enable the Payable Invoice Detail report to total the invoices for each contact. At present the report totals the GST component of each contact's invoices, which I find not at all useful. It would be possible to export the report to Excel, and calculate the totals in that format, but this would be time-consuming.

    I use the payable invoice detail report to get approvals for payment. It would be useful for the person doing the approving to see how much each contact's invoices add up to.

    Hi team, returning to the idea here I wanted to check if this is still an issue? With the Payable Invoice Details report you'll find you can 'Group by' Contact and there are options to include Balance, Gross Tax and Net columns within the report so you can get a full break down and totals for each. 

  2. With the old reports you were able to run the report and then click into one of the GL codes to look at the data. There was then a link "back to P&L / Balance sheet report" which took you back. This is missing in the new report which is very time consuming as it seems you have to start again with running and customising your report.

    For now, you can try to use the right click to open a new tab on your browser when opening the transaction or code. We’ll come back here if there’s any news. 

  3. It would be incredibly helpful if 'Quantities' & ' Unit Price' were included as column options in the Account Transactions report.

    This way one can quickly review the quantity & price of each entry without having to drill down into each individual entry. It would also provide a total quantity and average unit price for the given period.

    The example that I am referring to is on a farm business where we would like to review the tonnes of crop sold and the price.

  4. Stop Xero from automatically changing the Tax Rate of an Account when the Account Type is changed. It's so annoying. Offer/suggest, sure. But don't do it by default. No, I do not want to change Wages & Salaries from BAS Excluded to GST on Expenses just because I change it from Direct Costs to Expense/Overhead or vice versa. Such a dumb default setting.

  5. I would like to send departmental P&L/spend reports to my managers. For eg, send all marketing spend to that team showing the act v bud figures AND all the transactions making up the actual fig
    I reckon it would be best to add the Act and Bud figs at the top of the account transactions report for a particular chart of accounts

    Appreciate your feedback around how more visuals in reporting would aid when presenting business information to stakeholders.

    Though not direct within the Management report - Xero Analytics provides visual tools to assess and get insight into your business with Short term cash flows and Business Snapshot.

    Alongside this, our reporting team have also started release of a graph in the 'Expenses by Contact report' - It's available if you're running a US organisation atm, and will be with other regions soon 

  8. Currently if you've created a custom report & then select (for eg) the Budget Variance report from the side-bar, all the customisations you've created disappear. We create these customisations for good reason & rarely do we only want to see the one report in that format, so customisation should carry through to the side-bar reports.

  9. In the executive summary report, could there be an option to exclude certain accounts similar to the business snapshot report. For example I would like to exclude the distribution of profit accounts in partnerships as this shows a false profit of $0.

    Also can the variance also be expressed in a $ value in audition to the percentage value.

  10. We run a P&L Forecast report each month, with 12 monthly columns across the financial year.
    Start date = start of the financial year.
    Reporting on Month 1, this report shows Actuals for month 1 + Budgets for months 2 to 12, to give forecast total for year.
    Reporting on Month 2, this report shows Actuals for months 1 to 2 + Budgets for months 3 to 12, to give forecast total for year.
    Reporting on Month 11, this report should show Actuals for months 1 to 11 + Budget for month 12, to give forecast total for year.

  11. It would be useful in the manual journal screen if it indicated there were draft manual journals without having to click on the tab. When using repeating journals which are saved as draft each month you have to remember they are there to attend to.

    Thanks for sharing the idea here, however, we're going to move this idea to not planned as we don't have any plans of moving the placement of the 'Copy and edit' button within a report. 

    You'll find within all Xero's reports the bottom options bar is frozen, so you can find this option permanently on the page. 

  13. The Profit and loss report: Compare tracking are amazing, but still needs the following:
    1 - To be able to edit the heading/remove the dates from the heading (as this is all reading showing on the top of the report, and can be very cluttering if every heading is starting with 1 June - 7 June 2022 ....)
    2 - in the old P&L: compare reports, the columns/tracking that was not applicable "disappeared", with the new reports, I'm seeing ALL my tracking that is available, and not only the ones applicable, please do the same for the new reports

  15. On the New reports - the ability to set a date criteria on each report without it affecting all the other dates. I know you can set up in custom reports but is a pain.... If i wanted to whiz a new report off for a client sat in a meeting, i don't wnat to have to start and edit the layouts. The dates worked brilliantly in the old style management report. I thought it would work the same in the new ones but really long winded. Please can you make it so we can amend the date criteria at…

  16. I would like to be able to add any available report into a practice Report Pack. At the moment, the available reports are limited to those within the Financial Statement realm.

    I would like to produce a report pack that had all the reports i need for my annual working papers:
    - Employee wage summary
    - Bank Rec
    - Tax depreciation report
    - GST rec reports

    etc etc.

    Hi team, following on from my last update though our position remains that we don't have plans for making all reports available in report templates we wanted to share a recent change we have made.

    We have unlocked the ability to add client-specific custom reports to Adviser packs, giving you additional flexibility and more comprehensive reporting, which we know has been a key request for some in the idea here.

    As mentioned in our last post - we're very keen to continue to understand the interest in specific reports, so if not already please make sure to add your support or start an idea for a the report you'd like to see. Thanks

  18. Hiding archived accounts from chart of accounts list when customising report layouts, perhaps with a tick box to show or hide the archived accounts. It makes the job of customising layouts so tedious when the old messy chart of accounts come up every time and you can’t hide the archived accounts!

  19. Regarding the Income Statement:

    When the "Percentage of Income" & "Year to Date" options are selected, can we get the percentage of income column to calculate on the year to date column as well?

    This would allow for better variance analysis - comparing the current months percentages to the year to date percentages.

  20. Would be fantastic if when a fixed asset purchase is recorded and a document is included with the transaction, this document is also recorded in the draft fixed asset window. This would help as reference when moving the asset from draft to registered.
