  2. An automatic monthly payroll tax report would be fantastic. I've noticed Xero cannot do an automatic calculation of Payroll Tax like MYOB can. MYOB allows you to select pay categories (pay items) to exclude and run a monthly payroll tax report.

    Our AU Payroll team are testing some changes to Payroll reconciliation. The idea to have an automatic monthly payroll tax report is highly associated with payroll reconciliation and we feel that voters here would also have an interest in payroll reconciliation. They would love to hear from you!

    They’re aiming to conduct some 1 on 1 interviews between 6 Feb - 16 Feb 2024, the interviews will last 45 minutes.

    The purpose of the session: Participants will be asked to help with testing a prototype concept designed to enhance the AU payroll reconciliation process.

    Hey Jen, thanks for submitting your idea! 

    Just checking if you're referring to Custom Pay Items, which are already available in Xero Payroll.

    If not, could you let us know some examples of custom fields you require, that aren't already available in Xero Payroll?

  6. A simple payroll report that shows the actual wages for a period for reporting for Workers Compensation as it is a legal requirement for AU businesses. Details would be split into wages paid including super, with the residency status (+country of origin for Working Holiday Makers) - with a split if an employee has changed employment basis (i.e., moved from Casual to FT) in the period.
    And any additional details that are required by the majority of insurance companies who handle Workers Comp.

  7. We need to pay two different groups of employees from two different bank accounts. Having to change the payroll settings each time I do a pay run (to change the bank account) leaves far too much room for error. Can there be an option to select which bank account you want to use for each pay group PLEASE!!?

  10. AU Payroll - Setting up a Director in payroll

    When setting up an Employee in payroll that is only being paid Directors fees, you're not able to add their info directly in the Employee tab. Instead, you need to add the directors' fees pay item to their pay template, while also setting up a 0 rate in the ordinary earnings rate.
    It would be great if you could pull the Directors fees through to the Employee tab, rather than having to create a 0 rate to allow setup.

  12. Add a box to payroll for an employee's preferred name, for those who don't use their legal name as their everyday contact, it doesn't need to link to ATO, so no major coding, just be there for reference when contacting the employee. I have several clients with staff that use their middle name or a different version of their first name, that they prefer when being addressed, and it being there in payroll would simplify things.

  13. Payroll Department Coding - to be able to put a department code on all payroll categories and report to show employee name/gross wages/department coding assigned to payroll. The only way in Xero at the moment is through timesheets but this does not allow for all payroll categories to have a department code allocated. And when producing a timesheet report it does not show the $ gross wages for each employee only the hours. Need to include coding on allowances, leave and super.

  14. Ability to specify a set approver for a specific employee for when they submit leave requests.

    Employees who are nominated as a leave approver should only be able to approve leave for the specific employees who have them nominated as their approver.

    Alternatively, employees who have the "Authorised to Approve Leave" checkbox ticked should only be able to approve leave by employees in the same Employee Group.

    Only payroll admins should be able to approve leave for all employees.

    The solution provided for the removal of filtering by Employee Group in the Payroll Employee Summary report now includes all employee groups ever in existence, including the multiple spellings which have since been fixed, groups deleted after never being used, and archived groups which have not been used in years and will never be used again.

  19. Accrued Earnings Payroll item in Payroll

    We need to record a Project Incentive Payment as an accrual on payslips. These accruals vary per project with some accrued hourly, daily or weekly and are paid at the end of the project.

    The Accrued Earnings payment would be setup in Payroll Settings, with a running total displayed on payslips.

    Hiya everyone, as you may have seen we've released a new version of the Payroll Activity Summary report for AU and UK versions of Xero payroll. While it's still not possible to select multiple individual employees to run in this report, what you can do is run the report for an Employee group.

    At this time we don't have plans for developing the ability to select and run the report for multiple employees, however we'll continue to track this here and update if there's any progress.
