  1. Would it be possible to have the ability to search on a customers account for individual products that have been previously sold to them? We have customers that purchase various products from us and sometimes it will be months between each purchase. I have to open every invoice to see if the item is on there. Even if there was an update on the Products & Services page to list the products sold to each customer, I think it would help.

    Currently there are a couple of options for some here such as using Smart Lists to run a search to view all customers that have bought a certain item within a period.  

    Alternatively, you can run Inventory Item Details or Receivable Invoice Details reports could be useful where you can filter by a specific contact, item and/or description to understand what items and quantities of those items that have been bought by a contact with the in the timeframe of the report. 

    However if you'd like to see this option direct within the contact record, add your support to the idea here and we'll get a better sense of overall interest. 🙂

  2. Ability to allow individual access to inventory(products & services) and sales in Xero.

    Thanks for all your input and sharing how we can improve Xero's user roles to cater for the needs of your business and staff you'd like to provide this access for.

    As you may have seen in other ideas we've been conducting some research into user roles across all of Xero. As a step on from this, one of our teams are beginning a deeper dive into solving this idea here and enabling more roles access to Products & services (Inventory) in Xero.

    While this may take sometime to accomplish we wanted to provide an update to you all interested in this, and we'll keep you informed of further progress as the team begin looking into it.

  3. As with the financial side in Xero and their history and notes section, it would be very useful to be able to track who has approved leave or timesheets in Xero Payroll. We need site on which manager has approved the leave application or timesheet to mitigate any risk of the wrong people approving these.

  5. It would be massively helpful to be able to preview the PDF invoice instead of having to click on and download it each time. If you could preview it alongside where you are inputting data on a Purchase invoice that you have sent to Xero by email - then you can check details side by side rather than having to print out the paper versions. Would be much more efficient

  6. Like it says on the tin. Why do Xero send an unnecessary EPS each month when its not needed? If I want to change my payroll, great send the EPS when I approve it. If I make a late payment, send the EPS once I've finalised the payroll. But please stop sending pointless returns which makes me wonder what Xero is doing filing unnecessary data that is more likely to cause problems with HMRC than not given their systems.

  7. The Danish Business Authority requires Accounting Systems to be approved by them in order for you to use their system in the country. XERO currently have no plans to get approved by them, I think they should get approval from DBA, and other countries, to enable subsidiaries of Global companies to use the same software as their parent companies.

  8. Need to be able to send credit notes including bill credit notes to customer/ supplier with one click. Equally as important as sending them an invoice/ purchase order.

  9. Currently bill costs are not posted to the accounts until it has been approved. It would be beneficial if once a bill was entered/submitted for approval in xero the costs were shown in the accounts. If the approver is not available to approve the bills it holds up finalising month end accounts.

  10. It would be useful to be able to assign a bill to a specific person for approval within the system - without this the function is pretty useless.

    This seems like a simple thing if you have this as an option.

  11. To make the profit and loss report calculation is based on Cost of Goods Sold = Opening Stock + Purchases - Closing Stock.

    Purpose: To get the figures easily in P&L report by deducting the closing stock from purchases.

    Hi community, in the way untracked inventory in Xero works it isn't possible to automatically calculate cost of goods sold for a period in your reports. 

    There is a way to go about this yourself through entering Manual Journals to account for the Cost of Goods sold, and adjusting the value of inventory on your Balance Sheet. 

    You'll want to enter your Conversion Balances into an account that has a Current Asset type rather than an inventory type (Inventory type is reserved for use with tracked inventory in Xero and can't be coded to on manual journals).
    To avoid potential taxation and reporting issues - We highly recommend contacting your accountant to check whether this is suitable for your business, or if you need additional clarification on what journals to enter. 

  12. Require functionality that allows quotes to be sent to management for approval before they can be sent out to customers.
    Purpose: to reduce business risk and ensure prices / vendor terms are agreed and approved.

  13. With the new invoicing the branding theme is not available which is an important feature for us since for different clients we had different branding theme. Can this be added to the new invoicing system? Please refer to the attached. We cannot switch to this new invoicing if branding them is not added and it seems in September we will not have a choice. Clicking on edit invoice is not a solution. This info was available with the old system without clicking edit invoice

    Understand the sentiment and urgency in wanting this feature available. We've just released an update so now you can view the branding of an invoice when viewing. This is visible on invoices with Awaiting Payment and Paid status 🙂

  14. Users that can create draft invoices should also be able to print off pdf's and packing slips of approved invoices

  16. We have a client that has subscriptions that are paid monthly via card with a "debit order", can you create different payables folders and link it to each bank account so that normal operating expenses that are paid weekly can match with the business' current account and have a separate folder in payables that has all the subscription invoices to match in the bank recon screen

    Hi Marinus, thanks for the detail of your needs here. While there's no particular feature for this right now, one option could be to use a consistent prefix that you add to the reference field of these type of bills.

    When reconciling the payment in your bank account, you'd use Find & Match and could enter the prefix in the Search field to look up al the related bills for that period.

  17. Currently leave requests must be approved before the relevant pay run is commenced.

    If we discover that leave needs to be added at any point after the pay run is commenced, the entire pay run must be deleted, along with any progress made.

    When processing payroll for businesses, I occasionally discover leave should be included only while I'm actually processing the pay run.

    I'd like to have a clone of the leave creation UI as an option while within the pay run process itself. This would show leave balances for the employee, and only have an option to Approve

  18. Ability to import the number of days of annual leave/other leave taken per employee for the month. It is very time consuming to manually add the leave taken for each employee when completing the payroll each month.

  19. When creating a bill from a purchase order, it does not bring over the purchase order date. The date automatically changes to the date you are processing.
    Is there anyway you could keep the date.

  20. As an accounts practice, we are looking to reconcile bank in timely manner, and not particularly concerned about supplier payment allocations against particular invoices. Therefore we would like to see cash coding option for Advisor to allocate purchase invoice payments against supplier account as overpayment, as we would be reconciling supplier balances after bank is all allocated. We would then reconcile overpayments in each individual supplier account.
