  1. It would be great if we could pay our employees similar to how we can process a batch payment in XERO for bills. At the moment I am having to go into the bank account at the end and pay each employee individually.

    Is there another way to do this ? I may be missing something.

  2. We're currently using xero projects a lot and something that happens fairly regularly is staff posting time entries into finalised periods. I.e. we have run reports and finalised an accounting period and then there have been later changes in those periods in xero projects. It would be good to be able to lock periods in xero projects as we do with financial informtation in xero.

  4. Make the Xero Me App receipt analysis feature (to autofill expense data) available to expense submitter users.

    I was pretty surprised to lean today it is currently only available for admin users, despite it being a feature to benefit the expense submission process.

    Hi Paul, I think there's been a little bit of confusion here. Only an Expenses user with Admin can enable this feature, however once enabled any user in the organisation that has access to Expenses will be able to make use of the receipt analysis feature. 🙂

  5. In Xero we have the ability not to show the personal leave balance on payslips. But this is made redundant where the employee can apply for leave on the Xero Me app and see their personal leave balance there instead.

    For consistency, there should be an option to not show the available personal leave balances when employees are applying for leave - either on the Xero Me app or if on the web browser.

  6. I have the a tablet and use a cover with a keyboard, it would be so much easier to use the app if the screen didn't default to portrait mode and activating the screen keyboard. Please allow the Xero app to rotate to landscape so that I can use the cover keyboard.

  7. OK so maybe it's obvious to you that Xero Product Ideas is under the 'Community' tab on xero central but can I suggest you mention it under 'Support' too, as that is where most people looking for help start?

    I tried searching 'feature request', 'request' etc on support and in the end had to open a case to find out you had a whole Product Ideas thing - I didn't think to look under 'Community' as I wrongly assumed that was just discussion.
    I can't be the only person who thought this way, especially when concerned about something that seems…

    Hi all, we’ve now made Product Ideas available in Xero Central search, you’ll spot them in the results with their green label for “Product Idea” or you can filter your search under “What do you want to do?” to select “Share an idea”. 😁

    As mentioned in our last update we’re also looking into making Product Ideas easier to find - we’ll update this idea once we’ve got more to share.

  8. Ability to turn off email notifications for submitted expenses to Xero admins. Only started receiving email relating to submitted expenses as of 10th July 2025 but have been told by Xero support that it is an integral part of expense management and can’t be switched off. Have used Xero and expenses since 2019 and have never received an email relating to an expense submission. Am more than happy to continue receiving notifications of submissions via Xero Me mobile app but do not want or require email notifications.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate your feedback, and have been monitoring this change closely.

    We appreciate the differing needs of our customers our product team have temporarily removed the notification changes mentioned in my previous update - This means this'll reduce the amount of email notification you're receiving from expenses.

    We're looking into enabling more controls for expense notifications and I'll come back to share any further news around this with you here.

  9. Be able to sync multiple Xero organisations to the one external program (for us it's Splose) to allow invoicing from one program to split to appropriate Xero organisation.

  10. At the moment, we can only download the P45 and then email to employees by different software. It would be better if we can just email the P45 directly to employees from Xero.

    Hi community, as many will have seen in our updates about new invoicing we’ve been releasing many improvements to the new experience including keyboard shortcuts that will also interest many in the idea here. 

    At the end of 2024, we made an update so all date entry shortcuts will now also work within new invoicing. Along with this and listening closely to our customers feedback, we’ve most recently delivered some new keyboard shortcuts specifically for new invoicing. These shortcuts help users quickly perform common actions while invoicing to save the need of using your mouse and clicking around. Shortcuts include things like; different options when Approving or updating your invoice, being able to Preview, or Print your invoice, through to sending your invoice to a customer. When sending invoices from Xero to Xero it doesn't attach the actual invoice in the draft bill as an attached so we don't have this invoice for record keeping purposes and can't even see if there's VAT or No VAT charged on the invoice as it is not attached to the bill. This needs to be added.

    Hi team, apologies as we have jumped the gun a little - While it's currently possible to include a PDF of the invoice when sending via the Xero network, including attached files is not available just yet.

    However, I want to confirm this is something the team are currently working on and we will share as soon as there is another update on this.

  14. Keep the Xero Classic Look everyone preferred.

    The design of the New Invoicing, Bills and Fixed Assets pages are sadly reminiscent of an excel spreadsheet.

    One of the enjoyments of the Xero software compared to its competitors are the fresh, clean pages that make it inviting to use. When changing to new function, Xero has changed its design elements and is missing the 'attractiveness' that has been part of Xero's signature branding.

    Specifically black text, flat checkboxes, grey cell borders and grey column headers makes it feel like an outdated 1990s program.

    Appreciate your feedback here, and I've shared this back with our teams at Xero. We want to be upfront that as we continue to develop Xero products and features and update technology, this will ultimately result in some change to designs, actions and flows.

    Product ideas here is a great place to share what improvements we can make in specific features or how we could develop new features that would enable you to grow your businesses.

    As we make decisions around new experiences we're keeping customers front of mind. Our product teams regularly review feedback and consider asks from our community in product ideas. We also do thorough testing before changes are released, to try and make transitions as smooth as possible for our customers.

  15. Not quite sure if this is applicable here, but it would be good if there was a newsletter of sorts to announce any new apps that is released on the Xero App Store. It'll be good if there was a update of sorts whenever a new integration for Xero was released, especially for clients who're still looking for the right app to sign up for.

Xero Expenses - Limit the selection of VAT rates available for employees to select (we have a client who has domestic reverse charge, reverse charge and other VAT rates that the employees will never need to select and therefore it would be better to reduce the available list for them to select from otherwise they are more likely to select the wrong rate)

  20. I currently use Xero Files to store documents. Most of the documents are PDF's but some are Excel spreadsheets. Unfortunately, Xero Files doesn't recognise duplicate documents so, when uploading to Xero, it's necessary to compare the Xero file with my personal file in order to determine which documents need to be uploaded. It would be good if Xero Files recognised duplicates so all documents could be selected for upload with Xero simply flagging the duplicates with an option to either "skip" or to "skip all".
