  1. Pay rates rounding by 4 decimal points causing an underpayment of wages. EG: Base rate is 25.65 x 1.5 = 38.475000 but the award rate is actually 38.48. Need a solution for this ASAP. Also change decimal place settings for pay slip and pay template items such as superannuation.

    We can see you raised this a little while ago, thank you for your patience whilst it was being reviewed. We can see this idea has been steadily gaining support so have now updated the status accordingly. Whilst this is not currently on our product team's roadmap, they are keeping an eye on this idea and we will continue to share updates as things evolve.

  2. "Common Expenses" - fix product flaw.
    In Xero app, as follows:
    -Purchases
    - +
    -Add receipt
    -Tap:Categorise to an acct
    -acct list pops up with heading "Common expenses". 2 accts listed which I rarely use.
    PLEASE FIX : there is no way to edit the list of accts under the heading at the top "common expenses". See my screen shot

    Hi Tim, apologies for not returning to you here sooner! The Common expenses list in in the Xero Accounting app is auto-generated from your org’s chart of accounts, based on which expense accounts you’ve actually used when creating receipts/spend money in the app.

    It’s effectively a shortcut of your most-used expense accounts. Atm there’s no way to manually edit or reset that list so we'll continue to keep a track on your idea here and share if there is any change planned.

    Hi everyone, thank you for your continued feedback. We appreciate you sharing how important selecting multiple employees is for you when running payroll reports.

    The good news is our product team has reviewed this idea and agrees it is a valuable addition to Xero. We have updated the status to Accepted.

    This feature is not currently on our immediate development roadmap, however by accepting it we are formally adding it to our backlog for consideration.

    We will keep tracking interest here and update you as soon as we have news.

  4. As a Chartered Accountant, I’ve observed an issue in Xero’s handling of sick leave entitlements that I believe warrants improvement. Currently, if an employee is not included in the pay run closest to their sick leave entitlement date, the entitlement does not accrue. This creates a significant gap in compliance with employment obligations and adds unnecessary administrative burden to correct.
    To enhance the functionality and flexibility of Xero's payroll system, I think that sick leave entitlements should automatically accrue when the employee is included in any future pay run following their entitlement date. This adjustment would ensure compliance with employment…

  7. When entering expense claims, the program should be set to retain the date entered in the last expense claim item. When catching up on accounting, it is cumbersome to be working on July in December and have to go back and change the entire date for each entry. I should be able to retain the last entry date on the next and simply be able to edit the day.

  8. Please enable the ability to pay staff with a joint bank account in same pay run. We currently have to pay two couples with a joint bank account into separate accounts each run. Xero does not permit two payments into the same bank account in one pay run. I have confirmed with our bank that this is not an error on their end. Xero support have informed me that this is not a function that Xero currently offers.

  10. Can we please add a company logo on the payslip email?

    At the moment it just has the 'Xero me' background saying "your payslip is attached" ect. It would be nice to be able to swap that image with our company logo thanks.

  11. Average Employee Numbers in the Year

    As part of preparing accounts, the average employee number is often required. If this could be generated within Xero that would save time collating the number of employees per month and working out an average for the year. It could subsequently be used as working out the amount of revenue attributable to each staff member.

    It’s been a bit since this idea was first raised, so we wanted to check in. To help you get the info you’re looking for, we’ve added Start and Termination dates to the Employee Contact Details report.

  12. UK Payroll - when an unscheduled pay run has been posted for a period it stops any updates to salaries even when a full payroll hasn't been posted. It makes sense that a full run would stop updates but only people included in an unscheduled pay run should be barred from having updates applied. For instance, with an unscheduled run posted I can't adjust starting dates or salaries for staff, and these may have changed after the unscheduled run was posted.

  13. The choice of payroll reports is so limited on Xero. Can the suite of reports be expanded so that they can give us the information we need to do analysis on?

    Thank you for your engagement and sharing through product ideas, everyone. While we appreciate wanting more flexibility and detail in payroll reports, with payroll development quite separated for each region, and to help our product teams best understand the data that would be most useful for our customers we're going to close this idea and recommend starting ideas for the specific fields that would be helpful in reports and why you'd find this useful.

  14. Please can Xero add an Employee 'Known As' Name Field to the Employee Record, and show this alongside the legal name, on the Employees Homepage (& when running payroll) with the ability to sort alphabetically by this 'known as' name in both places.
    Nearly half of our employees go by names that are not their legal name. e.g. Annie = Kit Yee, Kate = Catherine, or go by their middle name instead of their first name.

    This issue is making running payroll ever more difficult and the potential for error incredibly high, as often the legal name bears no resemblance…

  15. Like it says on the tin. Why do Xero send an unnecessary EPS each month when its not needed? If I want to change my payroll, great send the EPS when I approve it. If I make a late payment, send the EPS once I've finalised the payroll. But please stop sending pointless returns which makes me wonder what Xero is doing filing unnecessary data that is more likely to cause problems with HMRC than not given their systems.

    Hi community, appreciate your sharing in community here. Atm if you're wanting to change the payment date for an unscheduled pay run, you can edit the payment date while the pay run is in draft status. We don't have any plans for automating this.

  17. LSL liability calculations are currently handled externally to Xero.

    It would be nice to have a system which could automatically track LSL on staff, similar to asset depreciation.

  19. Currently, when you connect your Xero login to myIR, Xero automatically files the pay run with the IRD as soon as it is posted. Unfortunately, there is no option to opt out of this automatic filing without disconnecting from myIR entirely.

    It would be much more flexible if posting and filing could be done as separate steps. While it's possible to have another user who isn't connected to myIR handle this, small businesses often rely on a single person to manage the entire payroll process.

    We would prefer to post the pay run, send payslips, complete banking, and then submit…

  20. Ability to enter a PAID Break - This would be particularly helpful in Contruction industry, where most awards provide employees with a paid tea break on OT & Weekend work. This would mean employers will meet their obligations for Start/Finish Times as well as break times.
