  1. Please can advisers have a more in depth way to search for a particular change. The history & notes filters need an "edited date range" and a filter to search in a particular area e.g. "Bank", "Bills" Invoices"

    Scenario:
    Bank was fully reconciled after a conversion to Xero and remained so up to the end of November 2025 with reconciliation report printed. i.e. at the beginning of December 2025 the November 2025 bank reconciliation fully balanced and matched to the bank statement.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea and outlining your use case. We understand you’re looking for an easier way to search through History & Notes when reviewing changes or investigating balance differences.

    The suggestion is to add more advanced filtering options, such as date ranges or transaction types, to help narrow down specific changes without manually reviewing the full history.

    For now, reports like the Bank Reconciliation Summary and Journal Report can help investigate adjustments and changes. We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand the value of improving History & Notes search.

  3. In the financial reports, the Beneficiaries header shoudl be able to be updated automatically with the name of the beneficiary.

    Having Beneficiary 1 there and having to edit it each time a report is generated is a complete waste of time for something that should eb automated.

    Editing individual reports not only wastes time but also increases the risk of errors in spelling or having a standard naming process across a business.

    Have raised this with support and its not available. Seems like it would be a pretty simple fix and something that should have been a standard implementation.

  4. For future reference, I would like to share the solution we received, as it was much simpler than the long winded process that had been suggested by Xero support

    Following the change to our payroll Branch ID, it is correct that employees will see two income statements in their ATO/myGov account after STP finalisation. However, the important distinction is that the two income statements have different statuses—one is marked "Tax Ready" and the other is marked "Not Tax Ready."

  6. Custom Reports Formatting & Formulas

    1 - more options like spacers (not just page breaks), lines, section dividers
    2 - text box more flexible = between lines, not just at the beggining and end of the whole reports
    3 - allow formulas to display text results (if statements), not just numbers

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback here. We understand why having more flexibility in custom report layouts and formulas could help create more tailored reporting outputs.

    The idea is to provide additional formatting options and expanded formula capabilities, allowing users to build reports that better align with their reporting needs.

  7. Have the ability to have separate reports for codes and prices for Billing items that is under Purchases and not lumped in with the Sales codes.

    Not enough filter flexibilty within to see only those that you require to look at or amend without getting everything.

    Not all purchases for bills are sales items for invoicing

  8. For Company Accounts - the directors feed from Companies House and include the resignation date in the Company Information section of the accounts. However, the final report doesn't include the resignation date against the director. Whilst, there is obviously a work around to include the date as if it's part of the directors name, it relies on manual intervention and given the information is already there, it seems odd that it isn't automatic.

  9. Create a report that shows the Quotation number and the created date as well as the Invoice number and created date. I want to be able to see all the information so I can see the turn around time from when we started with the client to the time it took to invoice them. No report on Xero shows both lots of information on one report. Also no way to export different reports and then link each line with a unique factor to build the report.

The Section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006 statement ("the directors have chosen to not file a copy of the company’s profit and loss account under section 444 (5A) Companies Act 2006")appears on the Balance Sheet in the full accounts. This statement should only be in the abridged accounts for Companies House, The only workaround is to manually edit the pdf, which requires pdf software and takes time. This needs to be amended.

  12. Current Behaviour

    When using comparison periods in Xero financial reports (such as Profit & Loss), the report automatically displays periods in reverse chronological order (newest to oldest).

    Whilst users can manually reorder columns using the Edit Layout function, this change only applies to the specific report layout and does not dynamically adapt when different reporting periods are selected. As a result, users must manually rearrange the columns each time they run reports for different months, quarters, or years.

  13. Bank Reconciliation - With Separate Debit and Credit columns with their totals
    Currently both DR and CR amounts show in one column. Would love to see them in their own columns when reporting.

  14. History on Fixed asset settings (the global settings that control depreciation rules) - If any changes are done to the default effective life or rate setting(applied to new assets) Xero does not log those setting changes in the History and Notes. Add a History tab within Fixed Asset Settings timestamped log of “effective life default changed from 5 years to 7 years”. Also if any changes are done to the default settings an option to bulk change all assets changed to the previous effective rate without manually editing them.

    This isn't something we have plans for right now, but make sure to share your idea with others that could benefit and we can get a better sense of demand here.

    In terms of the second request you've made we have another idea around bulk edit of assets that you may like to join and can stay updated of any progress through.

  15. As I inquired on how to modify a report to allow for printing the column headings on multiple pages, Xero Support told me that I should "export the report and add the headings on page breaks".

    Come on, Xero. That response was like a QuickBooks response! Surely someone at Xero must realize that when a report spans multiple pages, the user frequently may need to refer back to page one to be sure they understand what the numbers they are viewing are related to. Multiple page reports SHOULD have the column headings repeat on every page the report prints on…

  16. It would be nice to be able to attach customers to groups within the contact details screen. Due to the way Xero works, every single customer has to be attached to at least two different groups for reporting purposes. I have one group called Customers so that I get every customer an no other entities in reports. The next I have to attach the customer to a state since there is no availability to create reports of sales by state.

  17. When filtering Account Transactions report by contact, show only contacts in the report, rather than all contacts.
    Would make conducting a review a lot easier - i.e. if you are reviewing one account in particular.

  18. The uncoded statement lines report is really helpful to send to clients to show what documents we are missing, but seems to lack the functionality of the other reports.

    On high volume clients with multiple bank accounts an un-grouped option would be useful. When client provides receipts in currency paid GBP it is more helpful to have the data sorted by date rather than by bank account.

    It would be good to have the date range shortcuts (eg "this month", "last month", "last quarter") on this report - the uncoded statement lines report only has the calendar date selection option.

  19. Budget Manager - Add Balance Sheet Items to Budget.
    - It makes no sense that one can't budget for balance sheet items.
    - The purchase of assets and repayment of loans, etc., have to be budgeted for and reflected in the budget actual vs budget reports.
