Contacts - Different default email addresses for different transactions in Xero
Ability to allocate different transactions to different email addresses.
Purpose: Because it’ll make users’ workflow easier when they’re dealing with the contacts that have different departments.

Hi community, we appreciate your continued feedback on having different default email addresses for various transaction types in Xero contacts, and the manual steps involved to ensure you're communicating with the right person for different purposes.
Currently, one way of managing this in Xero would be to include every additional person on a contact record in emails, and then removing those that aren't required when sending each transaction. However we totally get this isn't the ideal solution.
While being able to set different email addresses for differing transaction types is something we want to address longer term, like the idea for multiple addresses work for this feature requires cross-collaboration between teams in order to achieve.
Once the multiple addresses feature is live this is something we'll be able to consider more closely and provide further updates on.
We do regularly review all ideas here, and your input is vital. We'll update you if anything changes. Thanks

We have many customers that have moved to accounting systems where electronic invoices need to be emailed to a specific email address. An example of this would be hub doc.
However these customers have advised that this email address cannot be used for statements and these need to go to a different email address.
In XERO it is incredibly difficult to differentiate email address so for these customers we have to keep a seperate manual list and remember to email these customers separately. And this seems somewhat antiquated.
Given that I am sure XERO are aware of these services that are now available to business is there anyway you can set up an email address that pertains to statement only emails?? I know you can put numerous emails in a customers details but that doesn't really help differentiate as you still need to remember what goes where. I am talking about being able to input an email address that XERO knows is specifically for statements.
We have experienced many months of bad debtors because statements have been going to systems like hub doc and the statements don't get recognised and get rejected by these systems.

you've given us the ability to add more than one person per contact, but are whittling away the ability to use this functionality.
I have several contacts who I send quotes, invoices, statements and purchase orders to. I need four different email addresses.
A drop down box to select which email to use, or default for different type of form would be wonderful.
In the newly rolled out quote form, the ONLY email address sent to is the primary person - even if I've ticked the checkbox to 'include in emails' for secondary contacts. -

It would be great to be able to email quotes to someone different to who the invoices go to

This is really important, we email quotes, invoices, and purchase orders to the same company and some of them have different departments and Project Managers that deal with each product. We also don't get the benefit of invoice reminders as these have to be turned off, great for a 1 man show but how many are there?

Many companies have a separate email address for receiving invoices and another for statements. Is it possible to add a tick box in the contacts so that invoices go to one email and statements to another, as currently the only way is to send everything to both emails (or delete the one you don't want each time)

This is incredibly important within the building industry, manufacturing plants and any other company that has multiple sites or multiple departments and therefore multiple cost centers with different managers.
Please develop a drop down 'contacts' box in the quote and invoice generators so we can easily address them to the correct people without having to type it in each time. It's such a frustrating waste of time having to manually edit the contact and worse yet, having to regenerate the quote or invoice if you forget to change the details.

This is super important from a hospo perspective, I need to be able to send invoices to chefs to have them cost up their inventory, but they don’t need statements.

This is needed urgently. We deal with large companies who don't want invoice reminders and statement sent to the project manager who requested the original quote.
