Xero Accounting app - Sales report table by month and year
I would like to be able to see sales totals on a simple table on the Xero app. I simply wish to see monthly sales totals as well as year totals per selected year. This helps me to get a quick snapshot of how my sales are increasing or decreasing, and also to view sales trends by month.
5 votesThanks for submitting your idea on Xero Product Idea's, Domenico. As you may have seen there is the Total Cash In and Out graph on the dashboard of the app. The dark blue bars show the total amount of cash that’s come into your bank account per month, and the light blue bars show the cash that’s gone out.
Appreciate there's no way to show this only based on invoices, or for a year view atm.

Xero Me - Timesheets default start and finish times
Ability for the employee in Xero Me. to be able to create a timesheet template so that they don't have to complete the start, finish and break times for every day every pay period.

Thanks for starting this idea! Did you see last week that our Product Team released an update that helps speed things up on Xero Me Mobile? They’ve enabled the ability to copy previous time entries in start-end timesheets on a per day basis. To do this, enter your time entries as usual for the first day in your timesheet, and then select the “copy from [date]” option when adding a new time entry for a consecutive day.
The team are interested in further exploring improvements in this area, but at this stage there are no firm plans to progress this idea. They’ve got their eyes on the ground though - closely monitoring your ideas, votes and comments. -
Xero Analytics Plus | STCF - Options to export
Even though the above feature in XERO has great potential for add on value services to clients, example, 90 days cash flow projections, I am very surprised that no one asked, why cant we produce a report in PDF or Excel??? Isn't this an essential part of a report?

AU Payroll - Xero Me Payslip only access
Have an option in settings to only allow employees to access their payslip and not create. Our employees enter their timesheets into a job management system which is synced to xero for actual payroll and timesheets however on occasion they accidentally create a payslip in xero me and it creates a heap of issues down stream

CIS: Mark CIS returns as filed when submitted outside of Xero
It is not possible for CIS returns to be marked as filed when submitted outside of Xero, resulting in historic returns showing as overdue.
It would be helpful to mark CIS returns as filed when submitted outside of Xero, as is currently possible with VAT returns.6 votes -
Expenses: Option to disable mileage claims
Turn off the mileage claims option in the Expense Settings .. currently one cannot do this ... we have never used this option, and it's a pain when we use the Xero expenses app as it adds another layer to inputting an expense.

Notifications - Email/notification when items are Awaiting Approval in Xero
Ability to notify an approver within the Xero org when items are in the Awaiting Approval status.
Purpose: Approver can approve or decline the transactions faster.

Xero Me - Decimal hours for timesheets in Xero Me
Xero Me App
When an employee is trying to enter the hours worked it only provides an option to do hours and minutes for the day worked, yet on the desktop it can be done simply as a decimal. For example we do 7.6 hours normal working hours with 0.4 hours going to an RDO bank for every day (except on an RDO).
It just seems really silly to have to adjust it to an equivalent of minutes instead of the hours total, be it whole or decimal for each and every day. Can this be fixed to work exactly…

Files - Ability to send documents to cloud storage from Xero Files
Ability to push files that’s uploaded in Xero Files to cloud storage (e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, and Sharepoint).
Purpose: Users can easily store/keep their files that they’ve uploaded in Xero into their own cloud storage. Especially when they have many documents that exceed the limit of Xero Files.

Xero Dashboard - Sticky headings across other Xero pages
Hi there! Really loving the "sticky headers" in the new reporting - just so much easier to use and navigate. I wondered whether it would also be beneficial to implement something similar on the other Xero functions. Namely for employee details. Often, I would find that I would click a tab, scroll down and not find the information I was looking for (because it was actually in another tab facepalm), then I would have to scroll back up to the top of the page to select the right tab. I feel that there is a poor level of dialogue from Xero on these ideas. For the top voted topics - I'd like communication as to what they're doing to implement a solution (and if not then why not).

We receive ideas for incremental, and large changes to existing products, as well as for new features entirely. With so many customers the range of ideas coming from our users is large, and we cannot action all things at once.
We try to be transparent in our communication and updates to ideas across the site, even if this means there is no current development planned for a feature.

Xero Expenses - Allow one off expense claims without purchasing the "Expenses" subscription
Allow casual, one off, expense claims WITHOUT needing to purchase the "Expenses" subscription.
I am the treasurer of a Men's Shed and, occasionally, members use personal funds (either card or cash) for Shed expenses, generating an expense claim. These are rare, usually one off, and might not occur again.
Could an exception be allowed for this, within the software, that would allow a one off expense to be recorded? This could then then trigger the need to purchase the "Expense" module if that person had any future expense claims within, say, 12 or 18 months.

Xero Accounting app - Assign billable expense to Project when creating a transaction
I would really like to be able to allocate my expenses to a project within the app.
If I add a receipt via the app, (which for me is the most efficient way to add expenses) I then have to go online, find the transaction, edit it and resave it, in order to sign it to a project. This is frustratingly inefficient and doubles the time it takes to input a purchase!

Invoices - Xero to Create/Assign invoice number when importing
To make have Xero fill the invoice number automatically when customer importing invoices.
Purpose: To save users’ time rather than having to supply their own invoice numbers.

Xero - Reduce white space
There seems to be a lot of white space on each page. An accounting system really needs to show concise, compact, neat lines so it is easy to compare figures without having to scroll up and down all the time. I feel that Xero is more interested in the look of the screen, when really the information is the most important part of an accounting system.
The important information seems to start half way down the screen!

Have an itemised subscription invoice by Xero Organisation, so that it is easy for us to on charge the costs to our clients.

UK Payroll - Allow Xero users permission to authorise employee timesheets
Allow Xero users permission to authorise employee timesheets. At the moment only the payroll administrator or specific employee has the ability to do this. Payroll permissions under settings/users should be expanded to be more granular, with an option to allow users permission to authorise timesheets. Alternatively, under the employee details in Payroll, an option to select authorised Xero users whom may sign off timesheets for that user.

Xero Projects - Create project from accepted quote
Xero Projects seems a bit backwards to me, you create project then can create or link a quote. It would be far better if you could create a a project from an accepted quote.
ie. Quote customer for job > Customer accepts quote > Mark quote as accepted and create project.104 votes -
