    Hello everyone, thanks for voting and commenting on this idea. Available right now is the short-term cash flow dashboard, which is a tool that visualises your future bank balance based on upcoming bills and invoices. The Analytics Plus version of this dashboard allows you to look 90 days into the future, and can make predictions for recurring cash transactions based on your spend and receive money history. 


    At this stage there are no plans to extend out the timeframe of this tool, or to account for balance sheet items but we’ll keep monitoring this idea, so please continue to add your feedback here on how this feature can improve your workflow.

  3. Xero advertises 24/7 support. My idea is that this representation is amended to reflect what support is actually offered.

    Xero state that you can "Contact Xero for free and unlimited 24/7 customer support". To most people, the meaning of this representation is that you can communicate in real time with someone from Xero who can help. This is not the case.

    The advertising claim should reflect that, while you can request support at any time, you will only get that support when Xero staff have the time to provide it, based on their triage system.

  4. We publish a large quantity of bills from Hubdoc to Xero. To implement a purchase order system we will need to be able to link these bills from Hubdoc to Purchase orders created in Xero. Otherwise Hubdoc is not really of use to us and will make the work load more.

  6. Xero permissions are all or nothing - you either have access to timesheets and expenses or you don't. As such, you get a lot of notifications about things that aren't yours to deal with. It would be good to have a little more detail in notifications, for example; "There is a new expense from Robert Smith to review" so you know if it's relevant to you or not

    Thanks for sharing your idea here, Sophie. Atm our product team are working on a few changes for expense notifications - Once live there will be a few different scenarios for notifications

    • When an expense is submitted users with the admin or approver role will receive an email notification that an expense is awaiting approval
    • When an expense is approved or declined the user that submitted the expense will receive an email notification
    • Users will no longer receive notifications when they take an action on their own expense

    I'll let you know once these changes have been rolled out. But if there are other specifics in the notifications that you'd find helpful it would be good to hear these, too.

  7. Ability to handle reverse charges for VAT EU in Xero Global edition.

    Purpose: It’ll save users time instead of having to use third party API or creating a second line with a negative amount.

  8. Currently, it appears that Xero is not authorised by Portuguese tax authorities for use with a company in Portugal. As we run a business in the UK using Xero, it would make sense to also use the same accounting system in an authorised fashion in Portugal.
    Could this be done?

    Hi community, while we appreciate you raising this with us here I want to confirm that there are no plans to bring back the 'I want to be repaid' option in the Xero Accounting app. This option was connected to classic expenses which has been replaced by Xero Expenses where we have a separate app where employees can submit these expense claim type receipts through. If you're not familiar with Xero Expenses just yet, you can find more on this and how to get set up through Xero Central.

  10. Xero and NEST do not always link.

    For example a client of mine has a pay date 15th September (pay period 15/08/23-14/08/23). This gets sent to NEST from Xero using a pay reference period 15/09/23-14/10/23. This results in the submission showing in the period following the current period on NEST.

    I have spoken to NEST and they advised that Xero is incorrect and need to change the pay reference period to match the pay period so the file is submitted to the correct period within NEST.

    Please can this issue be rectified to avoid manual submissions having to be made.

    Hi community, while we're continuing to keep a close eye on the support for this idea here, we don't have any plans in the near term to control the naming of files sent form Xero.

    Just to share, though appreciate many will already be aware, once the file is received and downloaded by the recipient the file name can be manually edited on their local device.

  12. For my clients that I have on Xero, I would like to use the Xero Network Key send through my invoices as Spend Money transactions instead of Bills.

    Similarly, I would like to receive invoices from Xero through my Xero Network Key as a Spend Money instead of a bill that I import/approve.

    Hi community, we appreciate your feedback here. While we have enabled Xero to Xero within new invoicing we want to be open that we don't have plans for developing the ability to send invoices to create spend money transactions in a recipients organisation.

  13. It would be great to have the functionality for Partners/Accountant to be able to view Xero Go files as you would in a cashbook, ledger or business edition organisation, by seeing a preview of the document without having to download it.

    This was the case when Xero Go was initially came out and only an odd invoice needed downloading, now it is all of them, across various clients.

    I would take a guess there may be an issue with the app and photos it takes, these are jpeg and should just come up automatically when we view them. A fix…

    Hi community, thanks for engaging with us here on Xero Product Ideas. As you'll have recently seen in our communications - We have spent the last year testing and refining Xero Go and after completing a careful review to understand the future of the product, we found greater investment was required to meet the changing customer needs and expectations around the product.  As a result, we will be retiring Xero Go on 12 September 2024, and will move this idea to not planned.  We really appreciate the support from you all who have been using the app during this free period.

  14. Today, I received an email from Xero, enthusing about the upcoming feature called JAX "Just Ask Xero". Apparently, this is a generative AI assistant.

    Once it goes live, I will want to know how to turn it off. I will never use it - if I need help creating an invoice, there's a help file for that, and checking an AI's work takes as long or longer than just doing it myself in the first place - and see no reason to waste processing resources on something I will never use.     Hi everyone, we appreciate your engagement with us about Just Ask Xero(JAX) and concerns shared on the data this model uses.

    To confirm the LLMs are not trained using any Xero data. The AI behind JAX uses LLMs available from commercial vendors like Microsoft, Google and Amazon, (we have commercial agreements that prevent them from training their models with our customers data), as well as proprietary technology, JAX Assure, that works in concert to support accuracy and security.

    JAX is currently in beta - Once your organisation is invited to opt-in to the beta, you can trigger the opt-in buy sending JAX a message in the pop-up window of your dashboard.

  15. When a folder is created in Files app, it appears on the left menu and the documents uploaded in the folder appears on the right side of the screen. When there is a long list of folders created, like I am doing with the client, the list goes below the screen and scrolling down option is only the main scroll of Xero that moves the list of folders and the document display screen together.   17. When going into a contact in the web version oif Xero the paid and unpaid invoices/bills are listed in date order with the newest first. This is not the case in the Android App version and it is really annoying having to scroll through (in one case) 200 invoices to get to the most recent.

    Can the App versions please go newest first like the web version..

  18. Xero Analytics Plus cashflow to show a year not just 90 days.
    The current cashflow upgrade from Xero only shows up to 90 day which is weird as in reality you need to forecast for the year. Is this going to be extended to a year like all the other cashflow apps ?

  19. This is the most tone deaf response I have ever heard to a feature request, ever. The fact that it has responses switched off suggests that it is known just how wrong the answer is.

    The request for files (receipts etc) be pulled through to an invoice is nothing like attaching standard terms, as the patronising response suggests.
    It's quite the opposite. Yet not such an outrageous request that it should be shot down like this.

    Hi David, I'm sorry to hear your frustration and appreciate my recent update on the original idea you've shared from is not our community were hoping for.

    I understand that inserting files within the branding template is not going to be a solution for all situations but with many customers interested we wanted to include this in our update for those that it could possibly help.

    As shared on the idea this is not something we have plans for changing, and though it's not possible to comment on an idea that is Not in pipeline other community members will still be able to vote and we can continue to track the trend in this. I can assure you if there is any change that would help everyone there we will make sure to post an update.

  20. Ability to completely remove from the My Xero homepage cancelled Xero organisations. Currently, you can list no fewer than 10 items per page, so if you have say 4 active organisations and 6 cancelled organisations, you are 'forced' to look at the list of cancelled organisations every time you log in, even if the entities have long been deregistered and there is no chance that you will resubscribe to them.
