When the invoice has been approved and need to be emailed, the side by side view is great but I would like to see the invoice amount ex VAT, not the total of the invoice and it would be good to see all the body of the invoice as well, not just saying there are more items, you cant even click on it to see

Hi Community, we need to have the option to copy part of the invoice when we are doing it, and then, copy that on the same invoice we are working, many times we need to invoice the same things to the same client but separate it by levels or offices into the same invoice, we can save a lot of time with this function when we are writing a big invoice.

  3. Unless I'm missing something, I can't seem to see the Item Code or Tracking Code fields on a saved invoice? They are there in Edit mode, but not when viewing a saved invoice? We don't need to include these columns on the invoice sent to clients, but do need to be able to see them for internal use without having to go into edit mode. Until we can do this, we won't be able to switch to the new invoicing.

    Hi team, apologies we haven't updated this idea sooner. Our product team made a change to the approved grid view a fem months ago, where now you'll see Item code and Tracking as separate columns once the invoice is approved to make it easier to review your information. We appreciate your feedback here and sharing through product ideas.

  4. Please allow a customers unique name and number pasted into the "to" box, be the only customer information required to continue filling out the invoice.
    My continued use of Xero depends on this action to stay as it is.
    Some users will not want to use Xero invoicing other than to use it as a debtors ledger and GST etc manager.
    In our case, we paste the name and number in the TO field, the only " item " we sell is one invoice worth our invoice total. The invoice number and reference holds our real invoice number.

    Hi everyone, to confirm for anyone coming across the idea here. In new invoicing the contact card will open so you can add more details of a new contact. However, the name is the only field required, so you can simply enter the name and then click Save to continue on. 🙂

  5. Create an undo or revert option for edits made to invoices. We can already see the history of changes made to an invoice, so why can't there be a option to undo or revert to a previous revision of the invoice?

    Hi everyone, we wanted to return and give you an update here. As mentioned in our last post - we want to be forth right that we don't have any plans to remove 'Powered by Xero' from emails sent from Xero, with intentional purpose and based on findings from interactions we can see having true benefit to customers in getting paid faster. 

    That said, we appreciate the feedback we've received and have made changes since this was initially raised to reduce the size of the footer where this is shown and have removed the hyperlink to xero.com. We will continue to develop the invoice email to continue to drive improvements for our customers and the ways you receive payments.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate the interest for being able to add QR codes to invoices. 

    While this is something we started looking into this is not something we're developing. 

    To set the right expectation I'll shift this status to submitted and we can continue to track the interest here. 

  9. Ever since Xero updated the online view to hide invoice info, I get one or two clients a month asking me what they're being billed for.

    Of course all they have to is click for details, but users are funny that way... they're not seeing it, and there's really no good reason to have this info hidden. I wish there were at least a setting to show them as expanded/visible by default, or even just have the first bit revealed so people would notice that they can click to expand.

  10. What's most wrong with the new invoicing template is that the most useful features have been shifted to to the bottom of the layout , so you have to scroll to the bottom to use them. Also the default of approve and send is not the best option , approve would be better ( or perhaps a way to choose that box default would be terrific. Also to attach files , all the way to the bottom we go, thats crazy . also the size of the template is too big , it needs to be more compact its adds…

    Thanks for feeding back to us here, Mark. I want to assure you our product teams and leadership are very attentive to the feedback we've been receiving from customers on the new invoicing experience and we're committed to improving this.

    It helps for each of the points you've raised to be tracked separately so our teams can consider the votes as a factor when prioritising and planning development, as well as keeping the communication clear of the changes we're making.

    Many of the things you've shared are being worked on and we have separate ideas for these that I've listed below and welcome you to join and vote for each, if you'd like.

    Trying to get a better view of the placement of buttons that you mentioned - would this just be the Attach files option or is there another that you would like to see shifted above, too?

  11. BETTER WORKFLOW FOR QUOTES/DELIVERIES/INVOICING:
    If we could get the actual flow for how the paperwork per Job can be produced!

    1.I always start with a QUOTATION: this doesn't always need to be sent to a customer at all as it could be raised by way of a telephone conversation, etc,et. This is logged as a Job manually in a Workbook.
    2.If the customer agrees and some do use PO numbers then when we go to accept/confirm, this is when we need the ability to enter Their PO number or some other confirmation that can be proved, this may…

  12. It is most annoying and time consuming to only be able to access half of the inventory items when raising an invoice. Instead one has to look up every item in the second half of the inventory, line by line before you can add it to an invoice. This is a step into the dark ages.

    Hi everyone, I'm pleased to share that the new line item grid is now available to all orgs.

    We know being able to see more of your inventory items is important and with the new grid we've expanded the number of items that you can see from 50 to 100.

    For majority of orgs this means you'll now be able to view your full list of inventory. We understand there are some orgs that have many more items, but want to be honest that we don't intend to increase this amount further. Thank you for all contributions and support you've shared with us, here. 

  13. New Invoicing has switched the position of Add from file library and Upload files. Whilst this may seem a small change, users are familiar with the order from left to right and I personally keep clicking the wrong one. Changing this order has no streamlining purpose so can it please be changed back?

  14. It would be great to have the ability that Xero gives you a warning when an item line in Invoicing has a $0.00 in the unit price before been approved.
    We have had clients that missed completing the price and then the Invoices are sent out.
    It would be handy if they got a reminder that this is $0.

    Thanks for sharing your idea with us, Gordon. As there are also legitimate scenarios where some customers may send 0.00 invoices adding an extra warning could also become frustrating.

    This is something we may consider as an optional control longer term but want to be upfront that we don't have any plans of right now. For now we'll get a sense of the interest in this from your idea here.

  15. INVOICING - in the field 'Unit Price', it would be great to be able to have this default to the hourly rate we charge (and to override if necessary). We send our invoices to our clients at the end of each month, and therefore there are several entries for the daily activities charged throughout the month, hence having to input the hourly rate several times for each invoice.

It would be helpful and efficient to be able to make or add an account code straight from the "account code" dropdown in the bill/invoice/journal without needing to go to chart of accounts to make a new one. Currently, users still need to go to the chart and then go back to the bill/invoice/journal but since this refreshes the page, it erases all the data already filled up in the invoice.

    Hi team, as mentioned in our last update here our team were looking into improvements.

    You may have already noticed but we made a change since this was initially raised so when you select '+ Create new account' at the top of the dropdown list in the Account field, the Chart of Accounts screen will open in a new tab. Fro here you can create the account, and when you return to the invoice, the new account is instantly available for selection.

    We are still considering future improvements of enabling account creation directly within new invoicing, so I'll update if there's any news of this to share, here.

  18. Allow change to email format so that the VERY LARGE $X,*** 'Review and pay' button can be removed - as it can in the Classic invoicing. I have a large client who has stated they will leave Xero, rather than send emails in this format. They find it too aggressive.

    Hi everyone, appreciate the feedback here. Right now it is possible to hide the 'Review and Pay' buttons completely from the Email Settings in the Organisation  settings. From here you can disable the 'Include quick link to online invoice and detail summary' setting to hide the payment buttons entirely.

    Just to note, this does strip back the email formatting so you might like to send yourself a copy to see what this then looks like once the option has been disabled. Thanks

  19. Packing Slips need to print what is on screen. Xero how about you create a rule to check what is in the Packing Slip fields and make sure what is going to print also matches. Don't expect the users to have to check what they are printing actually comes out of the printer correctly.
    This is the response I got from my Trouble Ticket on this issue today, which suggests the users "wait a few moments to allow the auto save to complete."
    New invoicing is very frustrating, why should we have to wait for something that works perfectly well…

  20. Provide functionality in Xero to add attachments to a group invoice.

    Annually when we issue membership
    subscriptions there are a number of attachments that need to be included with the invoice, this is currently a manual process. Adding the sane attachments to over 80 invoices is time consuming and tedious.

    Given Xero has this functionality already, it should be expanded to include the functionality of adding attachments when creating an invoice o a contact group.

    Appreciate your feedback here, everyone. While we've recently released contact group invoicing with new invoicing, the ability to attach and send an attachment has not changed for the time being.

    Contact Group invoicing will only create draft invoices for the contacts within that group, so you'll need to attach any documents to the individual invoices that are created and select to include these with the invoice when sending.

    We'll continue to review this idea as a future enhancement, and I'll let you know if there are any changes planned, here.
