  1. When I enter the month of the bank statement with the bank statement beginning and ending balances and want to make sure all of the transactions from that month's bank statement are accounted for, checks that were written in a previous month but not posted in the bank statement until another month aren't showing up in coded transactions in the month where the bank transaction occurred. The reconciliation with the check payment and the bank transaction can be made, but the transaction doesn't show up in coded transactions section of the bank reconciliation detail report for the month the bank…

    Thank you for sharing this detailed idea about how the reporting date is handled for reconciled checks.

    We understand the issue you've described. When a check from a previous period clears the bank, the reconciliation report posts the transaction to the month the check was written, not the month it actually appeared on the bank statement. We can definitely see how this makes it challenging to use the report to verify a specific month's bank activity.

Along with votes, others can now comment to share additional detail about how changing the reporting date for reconciled transactions could improve their experience with Xero.

  2. We need to give a user the 'Invoice only (sales)' permissions but do not want them to view invoices created by other users or ANY sales figures such as 'total awaiting payment' or 'total overdue'.

    It would be incredibly useful to have tick box options for main permissions when setting up a new Invoice Only user. These permissions should include:
    - View sales totals
    - Approve invoices
    - View invoices created by other users
    - View Invoices awaiting payment tab

  3. Invoice only user role that allows you to pick and choose either or both Sales and Purchase orders. quotes and invoices. At the moment you can only have Sales or Purchase IO otherwise you have to make standard user which is not helpful.

  4. Add a date to the end of the payslip PDF file name. eg payslip_20220519 That way easy to save and file each slip without having to rename

  5. Flag duplicate leave entries on the same day
    We are extracting leave data through API to manage resourcing including leave booked. We have a few cases of employees with duplicate leave on the same day entered and approved in error. It would be great to see a flag or warning pop up to approvers and payroll admins where more than a standard number of hours leave is applied to a given day. The number of hours comprising a working day could ideally be set for each employee.

  6. We would like to indicate a specific percentage of retention money held by our client on our sales invoices to them. This retention is then payable to us after a specific amount of months.

    Hi community, in lieu of having a direct feature for this I wanted to highlight the option shared earlier on in this thread (Thanks Peter!) for those it may help.

    As mentioned, currently you could enter a separate line on the invoice, with a negative amount for the retention value, and code this to a 'customer retentions' account in the Balance Sheet. You could also add a comment in the Description field, indicating the cumulative retention value.

    The Account Transactions Report can then be used to manage the values being carried forward. 

    Being open, this isn't something we have planned for development at this time, however we'll continue to gather the interest here, and if there's any changes we'll let you know.

    Hi everyone, thank you for your continued passion, and sharing how having the ability to group or combine line items within an invoice would give you the control to present information to your clients in the best way for your business.

    In lieu of a direct feature, while I appreciate it won’t fit all needs here, the inbuilt calculator may help in some cases to combine costs of multiple lines to one, and we appreciate there are some customers that have explored third-party apps with more extensive functionality for the time being to full-fill their needs.

    We’re updating the status of this idea to Accepted - While this isn’t on our roadmap atm, we see the value in this suggestion and it’ll be considered as we plan our future roadmap. We’ll update this thread if we have any more news to share.

  8. I would like a feature added so that we can add a billable expense to an Invoice even though a payment has been made by customer. It is crazy that you have to delete a deposit from a client so that you can then add a billable expense to the invoice for tracking. Customers pay a deposit then goods are ordered for their job.

    Hi everyone, a year on from my last engagement we wanted to provide an update for you all here.

    As many will be across we're in the midst of making a lot of iterations and improvements to new invoicing leading up to the retirement of classic invoicing in September (2024).

    We have a fair amount of work lined up in the teams schedule over the coming months and to give an indication there isn't any committed plans around a function to add interest to invoices.

    That said, we do have a team that have picked up and are considering how we might solve this with the technology in new invoicing - It's early days on this yet, but I'll share if there's any progress on this for you all here.

    In the meantime, as has been shared by others over time there are a few ways you could accomplish this…

  11. Ability to have an alert in Xero when an invoice has been paid.

    Purpose: Users can easily be reminded. Which will make it easier for them to order the product/stock for their business when they know that they have been paid.

  12. Currently eInvoicing attaches the user's email address to an eInvoice. So that we can centralise how we track our invoicing, we would like to change this to our generic email address xyz@entity rather than name@entity. It would be great if there was a drop down button added to eInvoicing to make this change.

  14. It would useful to be able to have an edit function that allows you to change a bill to an invoice and vice versa. As clients tend to confuse these and it takes a lot of steps to copy the information over and delete the mistake.

  15. There is nowhere to report missing features and bugs apart from this forum, which is more for ideas.
    I have found it difficult to find a place to report an issue quickly.
    For new invoicing the list of missing features and bugs should be reported so we can see what has already been picked up and what is being worked on and fixed.

    HI Jill, appreciate you posting here, not knowing where else to go.

    For something that appears to not be working as it should or where you're having performance issues in Xero - these are best to raise with our specialists at Xero Support where we have tools to investigate, triage any issues and escalate with our team if needed.

    When it comes to new invoicing we've communicated a lot of the changes and what's coming up through our Xero central page here. Otherwise, you'll also find many ideas for changes across product ideas here that I'd recommend joining for updates where you're interested. Searching 'New invoicing' on the main page of the site should help you find a list of the different features.

  16. I have a lot different invoice currency which the customer should paying into respective bank account according to invoice currency. However, the invoice template now is having single standard terms which i have to list down all bank accounts in the invoice. There is also limit for creating custom invoice template but it is also not an good idea to create different template just to follow the bank account currency.

    Hope that Xero can create the filter for user to select the terms that match the criteria. Thank you.

    We do want to highlight the ability to bulk recode transactions from one tracking option to another through Find & Recode - while only available to those with the Adviser role this will allow you to accomplish what's being asked here.

  19. It would be really useful to have a report the same as the "Billable Expense Report - Outstanding" that shows the same info but for paid invoices, preferably with the ability to filter by invoice number or bill number
