  1. When sending a new invoice to a client with multiple contacts, I find the most recent invoice relevant to the current project and copy the email details from the History and Notes entry for the action Invoice Sent.
    If there is more than one email address, the old invoicing used to recognise that a comma separated the email addresses. I could paste that into the 'To' box without issue.
    BUT IN THE NEW INVOICING, I get an error message when pasting multiple emails into the 'To' box: "One or more email addresses are invalid."

  2. Can the New Invoicing Template have a the original way to change the date instead of opening the date dropdown to then have to open the "Pick another Date" option if it's not today or yesterday.. If it was today it would already have that day selected, so why is it an option? just added extra steps to select the correct date..

    Hi team, the improvements to the date selector are now live to everyone! Thank you again, for all your feedback.

    Along with this change, we also recently released an update to date entry shortcuts so you can now enter the same shortcuts that you had with classic invoicing such as +0 or 't' for today's date.

    With copy and paste you'll find you can copy and paste dates however these will currently need to contain a '/' or '-' between the day-month-year to appear correctly.

    We appreciate there are other options when selecting dates that our customers would like to see and there are other ideas that you may also like to vote and join for updates.

  3. New Invoicing - Remove the edit button in the item list. It is inconvenient and makes completing an invoice with multiple items harder than the new invoicing already is.

    Appreciate customers use Xero in different ways, Meradene. Want to be open that we don't have any plans to remove this option, but we'll begin to get a sense of the interest of this from the idea here.

  4. New Invoicing - Description Box Defined

    It would be great if the new invoice description field had a defined box around it like the rest of the row does. The old invoice does and it looks cleaner. I find myself second guessing if those descriptions are in the correct place because it looks like they all run together.

    Thanks for confirming, Nicki. I can confirm I've shared this back with the team. We are looking at further improvements to the invoicing grid, so I'll let you know here if  there's any news for this.

  5. Give sales invoices the ability to create self-billing contractor bills - the same as billable expenses but for the the sales side, rather than the purchase side. I produce high vol royalties where the suppliers(producers) do not physically bill, but we need to raise the charges directly in line with the sales received. Massively labour intensive and could be fixed with this function.

    Hi everyone, to give a bit more detail from our status update a few months ago - The ability to copy to a bill is a feature that the team will be building into the new invoicing experience. They have a few items on their agenda and I want to be open that this is not planned to be delivered until after the sunset of classic invoicing. 

    For the time being, you'll find you can still copy to a new invoice, quote, purchase order or bill from the invoices list view. 

    You can get a bit more of an understanding of what's coming from our Xero central page. When there's more news on copy to a bill I'll share this, here. 

  6. What happend -
    I imported invoices with an invalid account number. When I went to review the imported invoices in draft, the new invoicing AI technology selected suggested account codes for me, almost to fast for me to notice the account code was blank

    Why this is important -
    The "review draft invoices after import" step is critical in getting it right - I should be able to review exactly what I imported to see where the mistakes are. I can see this being an issue with integrations where invoices are imported via the API

  7. URGENT!!!! The new invoicing is quiet frustrating. It doesn't remember past settings when emailing the invoices. So now I need to remember EVERYTIME I send an invoice to click 'send me a copy', which I know I'm going to forget especially if I'm in a rush.

    ANNOYING!!!! There's an added step now to attach a pdf. I now need to click add files then drag the pdf, instead of simply dragging it and clicking to send with invoice or not.

    It would be good if the Save & Close button had and 'Email for Approval'. I email invoices (unapproved). Once…

    Hi team, recently we have released a new line item grid in invoicing and you will find there are a few updates the team have made to improve visibility. We've optimised the padding, text size and columns width to make this more compact so you can see more detail without the need to scroll.

  8. For when creating an re-occuring invoice, there is occasions, where invoices must be sent at specific times of the month, for example...

    • Last Day of the month
    • Every 2nd Tuesday
    • Last Thursday of the month

    The reason behind this, is because some companies who you are invoicing operate specific payment cycles, and in order for a small business to get paid within the terms of their invoice ( Late Payment Act 1998 & your own article on [ https://www.xero.com/uk/guides/invoice-payment-terms/ ] - Payments terms are getting shorter )

  9. The Classic Invoicing allows .eml (downloaded emails) to drag and drop into invoices from downloads. The new invoicing DOES NOT allow this. Please reinstate this function to the new invoicing as it is an essential part of loading invoices (uploading (drag & drop) downloaded emails providing instructions and authorization evidence for auditors). Kelly, please confirm that this function will be continued in the new invoicing. Thank you.

    I see you recently connected with our specialists at Xero Support on this who directed you here, however this would be best for us to investigate deeper with you. I've re-opened your case and our team will be in touch directly soon so we can get more insight into this one.

  10. New invoicing is missing the mark by getting rid of Classic Features. I can no longer do math when making a payment. I will often post a partial payment ie: 50% payment, I can add /2 or *.5 after the prefilled amount. I can no longer do this in New Invoicing. Why get rid of features? So frustrating now that Classic Invoicing is gone in less than 50 days. It was much more efficient to have add payment at the bottom of the invoice opposed to jumping to the top of the screen to add a payment, and now…

  12. In new invoicing the drop down issue date is today or tomorrow. I suspect "Yesterday" and "end of last month" would be helpful for lots of businesses who bill the day or month after a job is finished.

  13. The button to view attachments was at the top of the page in classic invoicing but is at the bottom in new invoicing. Our sales transactions are imported from our point of sales software via API. Every sales invoice has an attachment and we now have to pointlessly scroll down to the bottom of every invoice before we can view the underlying report. Please put the attachment button back in an accessible place!

  14. New Invoicing My issue is that when an Invoice has been amended after it has been sent. I have found that currently the tick is still in the box as Sent . I think it should not be ticked until the amended invoice has been emailed again. I sent it twice to a customer Also The History and Notes on that Invoice Show it was updated but not emailed straight after I edited it. Anyone else having issues with this?? Maybe I should log a support call for it. If so let me know

    Thanks for your idea and feedback, Maria. I'm just checking in with the team on the history for the send in the second part of your post here.

    In terms of the sent box being ticked. This is automatically ticked when the invoice is initially sent and does not change when an invoice is subsequently edited. Appreciate this might be something that would help your processes and I've slightly amended the title of the idea for this.

    While we don't have any plans for this right now, we'll begin to get a sense of the interest in this, here.

    Hi community, we appreciate your ongoing engagement with us through the idea here. We've now released updates to the ‘Contact’ field within new invoicing - With the changes we’ve made, you can now look up and quickly find a contact delivery or billing address as you’ve been requesting. Other improvements we’ve made include; being able to enter more address lines, and an Attention to for each address on the fly.

  16. It would be better is the invoice reference could allow for input of longer names, without scrolling, so it's all on one line on the invoice.
    Currently, the invoice number character length and the invoice reference character length are the same, which seems odd, as usually the invoice number is just a few characters, but the invoice reference can be long (project name, case name etc)

  17. Rows on invoices - On the new invoicing manually adding rows is cumbersome for a mechanic business suggest making more than 1 row on the invoice. I rarely have an invoice which is less than 6 rows.
    Font size- Font is very small and should be increased to at minimum 12pt.

  18. I mistakenly issued some invoices and had to void them. That made our invoice number sequence non-consecutive. This is a problem for my accountant here in Romania because we need to file the voided invoices as justification on using non-consecutive invoice numbers.
    I want to be able to print them as PDFs and the documents to be marked as voided.

  19. In the Classic Invoicing, we could set a negative item amount which was useful to make it clear to clients that we had refunded something. It also corrected the stock levels in the inventory. In new Invoicing, you can set a negative financial amount but you are not allowed negative quantities, as such it is not clear and it messes up the stock inventory levels. You can do it via credit notes but this requires more things to be issued to clients etc.

    Hi team, I'd like to confirm that the ability to send invoices via SMS is now released to all AU users that have connected Stripe.

    We're beginning to look at expanding this feature to other regions, and next up with be the US.

    While sending via SMS is available within individual invoices atm, it is not possible to automate this with invoice reminders yet. If you're interested in this we have a slightly different idea you may like to join and follow across here.
