  1. Have less white space on new invoicing as it fills screen. The notes section which is in contacts 4000 chars make visable and editable on the new invoice page so we can see it whilst creating and invoice. We dont then have to keep jumping from one page to the next.

    Hi team, taking a lot of our customers feedback onboard we've just released a new line item grid that encompasses many improvements our customers have been asking for. With this change, our product team have optimised padding, font size and column width, reducing the amount of white space and providing a more compact view. For many customers this means less scrolling and better visibility of the contents of fields like Account and Tax Rate which are now wrapped so you can see the full contents. 

    We value all the feedback we've received from customers as we keep developing this experience. Please continue to add your votes to what matters most to you, our product teams continuously lean into your feedback and trending ideas from the forums here as they plan more improvements.

  2. What happend -
    I imported invoices with an invalid account number. When I went to review the imported invoices in draft, the new invoicing AI technology selected suggested account codes for me, almost to fast for me to notice the account code was blank

    Why this is important -
    The "review draft invoices after import" step is critical in getting it right - I should be able to review exactly what I imported to see where the mistakes are. I can see this being an issue with integrations where invoices are imported via the API

  3. New invoicing is missing the mark by getting rid of Classic Features. I can no longer do math when making a payment. I will often post a partial payment ie: 50% payment, I can add /2 or *.5 after the prefilled amount. I can no longer do this in New Invoicing. Why get rid of features? So frustrating now that Classic Invoicing is gone in less than 50 days. It was much more efficient to have add payment at the bottom of the invoice opposed to jumping to the top of the screen to add a payment, and now…

  4. At present, using Xero's Invoicing templates, you cannot send a "Receipt" from the Invoice -> Email screen. It prints as "Tax Invoice" with a zero balance. You have to click into the payment applied and send a "Receipt" from there.

    If Xero labelled a paid Invoice as a 'Receipt', then surely we could use 'Receipt' templates - as you cannot unless using an advanced docx template with custom coding.

    Secondary to that, Email templates - not being able to have a 'Receipt' template means that our "Receipts" go out with Xero's "View Full Invoice and Pay" message at the bottom…

  5. URGENT!!!! The new invoicing is quiet frustrating. It doesn't remember past settings when emailing the invoices. So now I need to remember EVERYTIME I send an invoice to click 'send me a copy', which I know I'm going to forget especially if I'm in a rush.

    ANNOYING!!!! There's an added step now to attach a pdf. I now need to click add files then drag the pdf, instead of simply dragging it and clicking to send with invoice or not.

  6. New Invoicing - Due Date: entering +0 currently records the due date as 7 days from invoice date. This feature is useful when due date is same as invoice date. All other numbers work (eg +5, +6, +7 etc) but +0 does not. Please fix this.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate your patience while we worked on developing shortcuts into new invoicing.

    We have now released an update and you'll find you can use the same shortcuts you used to in classic such as +0 or 't'. Thanks for all your feedback on this here.

  7. When copying an invoice, we need to be able to copy and paste in the item code without it deleting all of the description, qty and cost.
    You can do this in classic invoicing, but when you do it in the updated invoicing it removes all the data on the line.

    Hi all, we wanted to share an update for our US customers that sending invoices via SMS is now available! We have just released this functionality and you can use the same Xero Central article as shared in the last update to understand the in's & out's of how this works. After this release we will be working on delivering this to the UK and NZ markets. As mentioned initially this is limited to the Stripe payment service but we will also be expanding this other payment services down the line.

    Hi community, we appreciate your ongoing engagement with us through the idea here. We've now released updates to the ‘Contact’ field within new invoicing - With the changes we’ve made, you can now look up and quickly find a contact delivery or billing address as you’ve been requesting. Other improvements we’ve made include; being able to enter more address lines, and an Attention to for each address on the fly.

  10. New Invoicing - Description Box Defined

    It would be great if the new invoice description field had a defined box around it like the rest of the row does. The old invoice does and it looks cleaner. I find myself second guessing if those descriptions are in the correct place because it looks like they all run together.

    Thanks for confirming, Nicki. I can confirm I've shared this back with the team. We are looking at further improvements to the invoicing grid, so I'll let you know here if  there's any news for this.

  11. When pasting content from a Word document that has bullet points and other basic formatting, this formatting is lost and you end up with one large block of unformatted text.

    All our invoices have terms and conditions pasted in depending on the application of our products. We have to switch to Classic Invoicing where the formatting functionality still works, before sending the email to the customer, .

    Please resolve this urgently before phasing out Classic Invoicing.

    An example image is attached with a short portion of our terms and conditions to show the non-existent formatting.

    * Saving as draft!
    * New Due Date drop-down selections (e.g. 14 days)

    What I do not like:
    * No "add another invoice" option after save + print PDF, more clicks now
    * When save + print PDF, now opens a new tab that needs closed, more clicks
    * Cannot "copy" the invoice line "item" - I usually create many lines that I used to be able to copy & paste the "item", now more clicks

Can the New Invoicing Template have a the original way to change the date instead of opening the date dropdown to then have to open the "Pick another Date" option if it's not today or yesterday.. If it was today it would already have that day selected, so why is it an option? just added extra steps to select the correct date..

    Hi team, the improvements to the date selector are now live to everyone! Thank you again, for all your feedback.

    Along with this change, we also recently released an update to date entry shortcuts so you can now enter the same shortcuts that you had with classic invoicing such as +0 or 't' for today's date.

    With copy and paste you'll find you can copy and paste dates however these will currently need to contain a '/' or '-' between the day-month-year to appear correctly.

    We appreciate there are other options when selecting dates that our customers would like to see and there are other ideas that you may also like to vote and join for updates.

  14. New Invoicing My issue is that when an Invoice has been amended after it has been sent. I have found that currently the tick is still in the box as Sent . I think it should not be ticked until the amended invoice has been emailed again. I sent it twice to a customer Also The History and Notes on that Invoice Show it was updated but not emailed straight after I edited it. Anyone else having issues with this?? Maybe I should log a support call for it. If so let me know

    Thanks for your idea and feedback, Maria. I'm just checking in with the team on the history for the send in the second part of your post here.

    In terms of the sent box being ticked. This is automatically ticked when the invoice is initially sent and does not change when an invoice is subsequently edited. Appreciate this might be something that would help your processes and I've slightly amended the title of the idea for this.

    While we don't have any plans for this right now, we'll begin to get a sense of the interest in this, here.

  17. BRING BACK CLASSIC INVOICING
    We are extremely frustrated with Xero's recent change to email branding, which now forces our invoices and communications to include the Xero logo. This change makes our company look unprofessional and cheap, as if we are using a third-party service rather than managing our own finances.

    Branding is crucial for maintaining trust and credibility with our clients, and this decision undermines that. As a result, we are now reverting to manually sending invoices outside of Xero to maintain our professional image—adding unnecessary time and effort to our workflows.

    Appreciate your feedback here and I see you have also found the idea around the Xero logo shown on invoices sent to customers.

    We want to be transparent that we will not be bringing back classic invoicing, however we are still committed to developing and bringing further improvements to new invoicing that we know matter to our customers. You'll find a few ideas that have been raised across the forums here that are in the progress of being worked on by our product teams.

  18. New Invoicing - Show selected From Email

    The old invoicing would show which Email address would be used as the from email when emailing an invoice to a client. This is an important double check to be sure I'm using the correct email address for the particular client. Since this has been removed I now have to remember to check the Email settings in a different tab before sending every invoice, which is very time consuming and is the primary reason I switch back to Classic every time I try the frustrating "New Invoicing" system after suffering through its…

  19. In new invoicing the drop down issue date is today or tomorrow. I suspect "Yesterday" and "end of last month" would be helpful for lots of businesses who bill the day or month after a job is finished.

  20. 1st) I suggest on embedding the Validated QR code to the normal PDF invoice so that we can print multiple invoices at one go and our normal PDF invoice also consists of banking details and credit terms whereas the Validated E-Invoicing has none of these.

    2nd) I suggest on putting "Send to MyInvois" button instead of copy and paste the e-mail MyInvois@invoi.ci for every invoice. This is too troublesome.

    3rd) Regarding the Invoice interface on the Sent Column, perhaps can Xero make it into two instead? One is for the Validated E-Invoicing & the other one is for…
