Thanks for sharing with us here, everyone. We appreciate why you'd like simpler methods to improve efficiency when logging in to use Xero.

Our product team have started some work to enable logging into Xero using passkeys. As mentioned in some of your comments, this'll support Yubikeys by default.

For now, we'll move this idea to Under review and I'll come back to keep you updated on the latest news for this feature.

  2. I would love for the Watched Accounts box from the website dashboard to show up on my phone app dashboard. Sometimes I just need to see a bank balance or expense balance while traveling. Currently have to go to online website to see those watched accounts on my dashboard. Would be super cool to have them on phone app dashboard as well.

  3. Even though the above feature in XERO has great potential for add on value services to clients, example, 90 days cash flow projections, I am very surprised that no one asked, why cant we produce a report in PDF or Excel??? Isn't this an essential part of a report?

Thank you all for your engagement with this idea to enable export options for the Short-Term Cash Flow projection in Xero Analytics Plus. We recognise that the STCF report is a useful tool for many of you and that exporting would allow you to share this report which is important in a number of different scenarios.

It is worth noting that for users accessing Xero Analytics powered by Syft, the cash flow report can be exported in a variety of formats. If you haven’t checked this out yet, you can find more information here - Xero Analytics powered by Syft

After carefully reviewing the current development roadmap, we have determined that this request will not be addressed in the immediate future. Therefore, we are changing the status of this idea to Not in the pipeline. However, the idea will remain open for votes so we can continue to monitor community…

  4. To have notes in the Xero Dashboard.

Purpose: Users within the Xero org can leave the notes and easily remind one another.

  5. Currently, due to the lack of an approval option for a quote (which is a different product idea), I will need to provide the quote creator the right to send quotes directly to customer without reviewing (to avoid having another user to have to login, after being notified per email/whatsapp about the draft created, to review the drafted quote and send to client - very inefficient process). Once I provide an user the right to send quotes, they also have the immediate right to send sale invoices although the approval for a invoice is a non-negotiable. It creates the risk…

  6. On the taskbar, it would be useful to have a dropdown option to link through to the last few pages that you have accessed. Maybe the last 10 pages accessed would be good, a mixture of recent searches and recent transactions. I know QBO has this and I use it a lot for navigating.

For example, when I run a P&L and drill down to a specific bill, sometimes I would make an amendment to said bill. When I save and go back it spits me out at the CoA when I want to return to the P&L. So instead…

Hi team, appreciate the thoughtful feedback in your idea here and while not a complete solve for what's being asked I did want to highlight for this specific scenario you may find favouriting reports useful. This will make that report easily navigable from the Reporting menu in our new navigation 🙂

Also, just another tool that might help to find items that have recently been edited - the History & Notes could be used and filtered to quickly see what transactions have been edited.

While we don't have immediate plans for enabling these sort of breadcrumbs our teams are continuously thinking about the logic and flows as they keep developing Xero features.

  7. The mobile app currently does not ask you to confirm your password when you setup a pin for your account. If you were to miss-enter your pin, which is easy to do, you essentially immediately lock yourself out of your account. The system should ask for a pin, then ask you to confirm the pin before finalising it, allowing you to go back a step if you enter in the wrong pin.

  8. Allow Xero users permission to authorise employee timesheets. At the moment only the payroll administrator or specific employee has the ability to do this. Payroll permissions under settings/users should be expanded to be more granular, with an option to allow users permission to authorise timesheets. Alternatively, under the employee details in Payroll, an option to select authorised Xero users whom may sign off timesheets for that user.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on the ability for employees to approve timesheets.

Payroll is definitely an area we know needs more permission controls. This is something our product teams are beginning to explore and do deeper research of.

We'll keep you updated as our team progresses through the discovery work.

  9. Ability to use other languages (apart from english) in Xero.

Purpose: To make Xero can be more user friendly to people who speak and use other languages.

  10. With the recent changes to MFA dropping the remember devices from 30 days to 24 hours, the MFA prompt is now far more often (which is of course more secure) however it does slow down login.

Could you please look at updating the MFA configuration to allow push notifications to the mobile authentication app, or better still the number match, which is far more secure. Examples from Microsoft is below, but the priciple would apply in most major platforms.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/authentication/how-to-mfa-number-match

This would improve the user experiance over the token, but also improve the security overall.

    Thanks
    Dave

Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.

Now it's up to the community to get behind and support this idea. Make sure you share it with any colleagues that this could benefit, so they can add their vote too!

In the meantime, you might like to use Xero's own authenticator app, Xero Verify, which does support push notifications when you log in.

  11. Xero currently fails the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). This means that people with accessibility needs are locked out of being able to use Xero effectively.

    https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/quickref/

A quick scroll through shows that Xero fails a number of criteria, such as:
    - 2.1 Keyboard Accessible (for example, on the new bills page, tabbing through the page includes tabbing through the search bar, and when you tab through the date fields this causes today's date to be included as a filter, which cannot be immediately undone using the keyboard without tabbing through to another field)
    - 2.4.7 Focus visible (if you…

  12. Please adjust the Leave Authorisers in Xero Me to be the employees in the business with Payroll Admin &/or the Authority to Approve Leave.
Currently all user with PAyroll Admin are available for selection - which includes ALL advisors.
As an accountant - we are having to revoke our access to a client's payroll to ensure that the staff in the client's business cannot select the accountant's staff members to approve their leave.

Thanks for your patience; it’s been a little while since you first raised this idea. I wanted to point you toward a similar request regarding granular payroll permissions: [Permissions: Payroll - Payroll admin limited access].

It’s clear that having precise control over who can access specific payroll areas would significantly improve how you manage timesheets and leave approvals.

To help your idea gain traction, please share it with colleagues so they can vote for it too. The comment section is also open for all members to share how this feature would improve their Xero experience.

  13. I would like to recommend that standard access users be able to access a very handy "uncoded statement transaction report" that at this point is only available to the advisers role (usually accountants). I am told for advisers it appears on the front page of bank reconciliation. If it wasn't for chatting to an accountant one day about typing out lists to my clients I wouldn't know about it. I guess you don't know what you don't know. This is an extremely helpful tool when trying to send lists to bookkeeping clients / business partners or employee's when you are…

  14. More granular level for user access rights

I have seen lots of ideas around this same topic but worded slightly differently.

Essentially, the access rights are far too high level causing users to have access to tasks and rights to delete, approve when they shouldn't

Appreciate your looking through the forums and existing ideas, Tracy.

Although it might seem quite specific it does help to have detail of the specific permission sets and what is missing in the existing roles shared for each idea, and get a sense of the users that are interested in these differing permissions.

As you can likely imagine, with the number of features and different roles & responsibilities staff may have across businesses a matrices of options for every single permissions across every feature in Xero would be quite complex and cumbersome when  trying to assign what a user can or can't do in your organisation.

While we don't have direct plans for this level of incremental control, our product teams are definitely interested to consider the makeup of permissions within a given area or feature of Xero. I'd urge you and others here to add your support to…

  15. Invoice Only : User role - I would like more options assigned to this role. So they can issue payments by cheque. Similar to an accounts payable role. Currently, this user cannot issue cheques, even though Xero states this user can pay bills.

Hi everyone, we appreciate you taking the time to share how important more flexible payroll permissions are for your teams.

It's clear that having granular control over who can access different parts of payroll would make a real difference to how you manage timesheets and leave approvals, as well as restrict access to other sensitive areas.

From research, Payroll is definitely an area we know needs more permission controls for varying roles. This is something our product teams are beginning to explore and do deeper research of. We'll keep you updated as we make progress, and we're grateful for your continued input.

  17. It should be possible to suspend users without deleting them. This should cut off all accesses but should preserve the account /username itself. This is a basic functionality of user access control which is surprisingly absent from Xero. This preserves the user ID incase someone suddenly leaves the company or is suspended from duties for whichever reason.

  18. Ability to have more flexible permission in Xero Payroll, especially for read only Payroll reports and to give other users permission to approve/decline leave requests.

Hi Community! Thanks for your active and on-going participation in this idea. The volume of comments and votes highlights how important more granular user permissions are for managing your payroll processes effectively.

Improving user permissions and providing greater control over sensitive data is a key area of focus for us. While we have no specific feature to announce today, your feedback is critical in shaping the future of this part of Xero.

Because of the clear need you've all highlighted and our desire to investigate this further, we're moving this idea's status to In Discovery.

During the discovery phase, our product team will be digging deeper into the core problems you’ve raised.

We appreciate your patience as we explore this. We'll be sure to update this thread when we have more to share. Thank you again for helping us understand what matters most to you.

  19. We have a UK based client who have a presentational and functional currency in USD. There is no possibility of setting up this company correctly on Xero, as Xero only lets UK organisations use the base currency on GBP to link easily to taxonomy.

It would be very helpful if this could be set up.

Hi Jonathan, when you say presentational and functional currency is USD - does the organisation pay taxes in the US? If so it would be recommended that you pick US when setting up the org.

Alternatively, if US is one of the currencies that the org regularly deals and transacts in but pays taxes in the UK it would be recommended that you select UK and the client is on an org that includes multi-currency in it's plan.

We appreciate customers would like to see more capability with currency in Xero - most recently we have added the ability to run the newer Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Budget Variance reports in other currencies an org uses.

  20. This is a minor User Interface bug that has been bugging me for years.

Basically, almost every time I go to the my.xero.com Organisations page I end up clicking and waiting then realising I haven't clickedin the special place that works. The user interface here is misleading. Whenever your mouse curse enters the large box containing the name of one of your companies, that whole line highlights. But the only place you can click to actually get it to go to that company's dashboard is the text of the company name.

Everywhere else in xero, you can click in the…
