Bills - Option to permanently dismiss Pay bills online pop-up message
Whenever I make a manual payment to a supplier Purchases/Bill I keep getting an annoying pop-up saying "Pay bills online directly from Xero". Bills are not paid online, payments are processed manually. Please remove this annoying pop-up.
There needs to be a "do not ask me again" box.
I'm told by AI help that I can continue to process manual payments as usual - the pop-up shouldn't prevent me from completing the transactions. This is where the problem lies - I make payments nearly every day and some suppliers have more than 1 invoice to pay so have to select each supplier manually.

Hi team, thanks again for your feedback on this here. Just to clarify the change, while the modal has been updated the payment method options shown are the same as previous. Just rather than making you select there is a preset default for online bill payment.
If you prefer manual payments you just need to click on the 'Continue with manual payment' to proceed.
With focus on further improving and expanding online bill payment methods and helping our customers stay on top of cashflows, it'd be great to better understand the reasons why online bill payments don't suit your business needs here.

We are all aware we can click on the 'Continue with manual payment', but the issue is having to click it every time we make a payment.
We have seen the pop up, our companies do not want this service, so it is becoming increasingly annoying having to click to continue every time. I believe we would all benefit from a simple 'do not show this message again' tick box. -

There is currently a really annoying pop up to "Pay bulls online directly from Xero" that comes up every time you pay a bill. Our company has decided we do not want this service, so we click the "Continue with manual payment" option. But we have to do this every time we pay a bill? Surely you can just add a "Do not show this message again" option for people who do not want this service. I appreciate this is how you make customers aware of a new change, but it has been at least 3 weeks of this nonsense now. Its just a bit annoying :)

Totally agree with Louise - all our payments are done manually so no need for the annoying Pop Up...!

I have a semi-fix for this, which makes it much less annoying.
You can automatically run a script that will select 'Continue with manual payment' for you, so it at least saves you a step. When you select the invoice(s) for payment and click 'Make Payment' the pop up appears, but after a brief moment, the script will dismiss it and take you to the next page in the workflow.
I use Mac and Safari, and the Userscripts extension. When the pop up appears, use Inspect Element, screenshot the code into ChatGPT and it will write the script for you to paste into Userscripts.
I hope this helps.
I'm off to see if ChatGPT can write a script that allows you to batch invoices and credits for a bank payment within Xero rather than having to apply credits to specific invoices.

A complete PITA it is now to make payments and I cannot believe no one thought of giving you the option to turn this off when developing the idea... amateurs...
Xero get rid of this ASAP I and others have absolutely no interest in this option

OMG this is so annoying, its driving me insane, I make about 5-10 payments every day and this pop is SOOOOO annoying, please remove this, not all companies want to use you online bill system, its not economically viable for us to use.

I also have raised for this, what a stupid popup, which doesn't allow you to dismiss, I do all my payments manually which is a lot and this popup is a pain having to see it over and over again, If I wanted to do online payments then I am sure I will find the option, rather than have it displayed over and over again, ridiculous feature

I raised this as a case with Xero and was told it's not possible to permanently dismiss this message (nor the one in Sales Invoices to accept card payments) and that it needs to be raised as a product idea.
You'd think product ideas would be for genuine development to improve Xero's functionality, rather than for undoing deliberate sabotage to the UX to try and upsell services.
But here we are.
