  1. Would love to see the Accounting menu split so that there are new menus for Reporting & Bank Accounts. Show under the Accounting menu all the actions (journals, fixed assets, chart of accounts, advanced accounting, plus favourites). Then a separate menu for Reporting - listing the different reporting sections Adviser, Custom, Drafts, Archived etc. plus favourites). And a separate menu for Bank Accounts (reconciliation report, bank accounts, bank rules, etc).

Thanks again for your feedback through the idea here. We appreciate there are many different ways our customers feel menus and ways to navigate Xero features and products would best serve their needs.

There was lots of research behind the top level menus that you now have with Xero's new navigation experience - As requested here you'll find Reporting is now it's own menu. And, while Bank Accounts are within the Accounting menu, you'll find we've added quick options for Bank Rules, through the new Homepage which is coming soon you can quickly access reconciliation reports, manage the account, or enter transactions.

  2. On the employees interface it would be helpful to have the number of hours booked showing against the holiday. Currently it only has the dates that have been booked. The hours are shown on the employer interface

Crossing back over your idea here, Katie it looks like this is actually possible - When an employee taps on the leave request in their Xero Me app, it'll bring up all the details of their leave including the total hours. 😊

If they're unable to see this, we'd suggest asking them to raise a case with our team of specialists through Xero central who can get a closer inspection to help.

  3. any way to assign properties to Customers?

example - we hire 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers, so for every customer I tick their appropriate container.

this way if i need a report on all customers who have a 20ft container, job is easy and fast

In Sap B1 this is available as per pic attached

Please can you display the combined chart of accounts account code with the CoA description in the account column as you do on in the classic view, rather than us needing to click on the description that shows in the column, so the account code then also shows.

We use three brands which use the same numbers for the same services but then add two alpha to show the brand: 200AA, 200BB, 200CC etc. and because of the display in the classic invoice edit view to help the double-checking before sending the invoice we…

Thanks for the screenshots and feedback here. We've made a lot of changes to new invoicing since first announcing the retirement of classic invoicing. You'll find you can now view both the Account code and Account Name in the Account column when editing your invoices.

  5. Please can we have the product enhancement for the LOCKED DATES, whereby the Advisor role can LOCK THE DATES to stop other employees/departments posting entries, but the Advisor can OVERIDE the lock dates to post month end/year end journals.
    This is critical !!

    Hi there

There are two Lock Date settings in the Financial Settings screen; one for all users except advisers, and one for all users.

To do this, you could leave the 'all users' date blank, and set a relevant lock date for 'all users except advisers'.

This would allow Adviser users to bypass the Lock Date, while still leaving this restriction in place for other users.

Alternatively, you might leave the 'all users' setting in place to prevent Advisers unknowingly making an change prior to the Lock Date.

If the Adviser does need to override this, they could temporarily delete this date, or move it forwards.

  6. When we receive an email from Approval Max stating that someone has rejected a bill, it has a link to the bill in Xero. When you open the link, there's no way to edit/amend the invoice from this screen.

    Please add an edit button.

Currently, from this screen, to edit the invoice, we need to go to:
Bills To Pay > Drafts > search for the invoice > then edit it

Too many additional steps to edit the invoice, it should be easy from that first link.

Hi Kelly, thanks for the screenshots. Seeing as this email is sent by ApprovalMax we'd recommend connecting with their support to see if this is something they can change or would consider extending their integration for. Many of our app partners designed and built their integrations with Xero themselves and are best placed to confirm how this works and make changes to it.

  7. Include an extra tab that summarises the totals for the Tax Rates including the cents.

Hi team, I know it's been sometime since this idea was originally raised and we wanted to provide an update for you all here.

Xero's Activity Statement report today has two tabs - Summary and Transactions.

The Summary tab summarises the Tax Rates totals of all transactions. This shows a round number without cents in line with ATO. Transactions tab includes all transactions associated with the Activity Statement period.

You can find more detail about how Xero populates the Activity Statement on Xero Central.

  8. Can we have the ability to hide or adjust size/ minimise "reporting codes" & "adjustments", "Adjusted balance", "Variance" & "Assignee" - making this more customisable for easy review & based on what is important for each person.

  9. The Balance Sheet currently defaults to the last EOFY date, which as at today (posting this suggestion) is 9 months ago. this is frustrating as you usually look for the figures as at now, and not the end of the last financial year. This functionality changed in one of the recent product updates. I know we can change the date and re-run the report, however it seems silly to default back to the end of the last FY and is a waste of time to have to do this always.

  10. Entities often need to view business reports in calendar year, as opposed to Financial year.
Increasingly, revenue, expense and profit performance and targets at management and operational level are considered by calendar year.

  11. We really need Xero to implement the capability for small businesses to submit their UK corporation tax return online, directly without an approved xero partner, BEFORE MARCH 2026 WHEN THE HMRC ONLINE SERVICE FOR SUBMITTING CORPORATION TAX RETURNS STOPS.
Our main justification to pay for Xero is it saves he cost of an accountant!
Currently HMRC lists Xero as an alternative software package for submitting tax returns after March 2026; but at the moment this is not an option in Xero unless you are a professional accountancy firm approved as a "Xero partner".
If Xero does not intend to make…

HI team, returning to the idea here we will mark this as delivered. As noted in my last update - With the Inventory item Summary report you'll be able to filter to only select the items you're wanting to view and can add columns to view Opening & Closing Balance or Quantities, as well as those sold in the period the reports being run.

Alternatively, you could run the Receivable Invoice Detail report. This'll only include sales of items, and the report includes the Item Code column by default.

You could also set the report up to Group by Item Code, so sales of each item are listed together, complete with totals for the date range.

  13. The PDF preview pane is fantastic... except a page can be lengthy and it doesn't let you scroll on it.
If I hover my cursor on the PDF preview and scroll (using the scroll wheel of my mouse), it zooms. I almost never need to zoom on it. If I needed to Zoom I would hold control and scroll, like I would on any other browser page.
I have to move my cursor to this skinny panel either side of the page to be able to scroll, or grab the skinny scroll bar (to the right, not the left).

  14. Proposal – Xero Expansion Strategy for Nepal

    Summary:
Nepal presents a strong opportunity for Xero with its growing SME sector, increasing digital adoption, and government focus on VAT/TDS compliance. To succeed, Xero should focus on localization, affordability, and integrations.

    Key Recommendations:

Localization – Automate VAT & TDS filing in government-approved formats, support NPR currency with NRB exchange rate sync, and offer bilingual (Nepali/English) invoices.

Mobile-First Approach – Lightweight app with offline functionality, expense capture via SMS, and local-language notifications.

Banking & Wallet Integration – Partner with leading Nepali banks (Nabil, NIC Asia, Global IME, etc.) and mobile wallets (eSewa,…

As you're possibly aware, Xero doesn't currently have specific features for Nepalese businesses, so for now we'd suggest using the Global edition.

  15. I've always felt like your software was created by people who have never used the software themselves because some of the pathways and defaults just don't make sense. Note: I access Xero using the Chrome browser.
Here are some changes that could be made that would really improve the user experience with Xero:

    1. When I'm entering bills, some date fields want me to enter the date like this: date/month/year and other times it wants me to enter it like this: month/date/year.  It's very frustrating having to switch back and forth randomly.

Hi Jenna, we appreciate your feedback and the detail you've given is great. However, it's best that strange behaviour or performance issues are shared with our specialists at Xero Support who have tools to be able to investigate and escalated with our team if something isn't working as it should.

    There are a couple of your points I wanted to confirm here;

    • Bills to pay - you are able to set a default page for this. It sounds like it may currently be set to Paid bills in your org. You can set the default by clicking the 3 dots in the top right of the page where you'll see 'Default bill page' to select your preference
    • Default for bills due date - From the same place you can go to for invoice (Invoice settings) you can set a default Due date for your bills.

    I'd recommend raising a case…

  16. The two-way communication between Xero and integrated software/apps needs to have at least some settings options – currently, there are none. At this point, it’s either connect or disconnect. The way Xero and the integrated software communicate is based solely on what they envision businesses using Xero would like as features, with a strong focus on streamlining processes. To make things as simple as possible, all invoices and costs added to Fergus (and many other project management apps) just go straight into Approved.

When staff members, contractors, or anyone with access to the software/app can add costs to ongoing projects…

✨ Thanks for sharing this idea and outlining why having control over the sync status matters for your workflow. To clarify how this works today: Xero doesn’t manage or control how individual third‑party API integrations behave. The integration partners decide how their apps talk to Xero and which statuses they create, so changes to that behavior sit with the app provider rather than within Xero. Next best step would be to reach out to your app provider and request a setting that routes new transactions into Awaiting Approval (rather than Approved) so your accounts team can review before authorising. We’ll also capture your feedback to inform our ongoing ecosystem guidance for app partners.

  17. In the olden days when you paid an individual bill the system would take you back the awaiting payments screen with two options - view bill or send remittance. Can we please have this back. More recently when paying a single bill you would have around 5 seconds to click on send remittance - that is now gone. Annoyingly you have to change a number of screens to locate the paid bill and then click on the payment and remit from there. Very inefficient. Please revert to the old options.

Hi, team returning to the post here we'd like to highlight that when posting a payment within a bill while you're returned to the Bills list you'll get a popup, prompting you to send a remittance if you wish.

If you apply a payment from the All or Awaiting Payment tab this'll create a Batch Payment where there's an option to 'Send remittance' on the batch payment.

  18. When changing the year end for a client, it would be nice if previous year's could be locked in dates, fixed assets, etc.
Once the year end is changed, it seems to amend the dates for the previous year in all reports too, if (for example) the new year end means the current "year" runs to 13+ months (such as when the year end is extended): it's hard to get the comparative period in any popular reports to show the previous year as it was filed.
And especially in the TB, I can't get it to show a…

  19. Please investigate cheaper crypto aggregation services than the ones available currently in your apps section. Currently (Aug 2025) all the ones there are for enterprise, or businesses that trade a LOT in crypto. And the prices are ludicrous for those of us with small amounts of crypto assets.

Maybe get the IRD to fund your research and development of this kind of thing, because it will make proper tax reconciliation possible, and their investment will pay dividends.

As an example, ZenLedger (https://zenledger.io/) lets us integrate all this information. It still costs a yearly fee…

  20. Bulk update account for multiple line entries to allow for easier reanalysis of multiple line items within the software.

Include a feature to make it easier to change the account for multiple line entries at once through the supplier side to make it easier when bookkeeping to reanalyse multiple line items, rather than editing them one by one if they get reanalysed within the accounts.

Hi Adam, we have a feature called Find and recode that will enable you to bulk update the account code for multiple lines at once. You could filter by the contact and then recode whatever lines of transactions as needed.

I'd recommend giving this a try in the demo co first and potentially working with your accountant before implementing this in your organisation. Have more of a read on this here.
