  1. Casual loading rate must now be separated on the employee pay slip. We need an automated template function that populates the ordinary hours and adds on the leave loading on a separate line (without doubling the total hours worked)
    ie Casual works 38 hrs (currently we enter it on 2 lines and the total hours become 76 hrs??)

  3. It would be great to be able to change an existing payrun (without using an unscheduled one) and submit an additional FPS relating to that month. Also being able to submit an additional FPS relating to a month that has already been submitted and no changes made, but sometimes HMRC pulls through the data incorrect their end and they need just an additional FPS submitted to pull it through correct but this is not possible currently.

    Hi everyone, while not directly from an employee's record it's possible to view an employees payslip without having to download it. If you select Pay employees from the Payroll menu, choose the required pay run you'll be able to click View Reports where you can choose the 'Payslips' option.

    From here you can see the payslips for all employees in that pay period.

    We don't have direct plans for adding this capability from within an employee's record atm, but we'll track the interest of this here and let you know if any change is planned.

  6. Journal Accrual or Cash Basis default setting and journal import column.

    Default journal setting in is Xero is to post on a cash basis - apply a settings to select which basis is the default method (Cash or Accrual)

    Import journals on accrual basis - add an extra column to the import template to state if the journal is accrual or cash basis or a default setting if blank.

  8. Allocate specific tracking categories to transactions instead of showing every category when a transaction is created.

    Currently all tracking categories show when creating a new spend/receive money. In our business one of these categories is used for timesheets only. I would like the option to be able to choose which tracking categories display when creating new spend/receive money transactions in Xero, in the same way that I am able to do this for payroll and on invoicing.

  9. Hi Xero Team,

    I’ve noticed that Xero currently doesn’t support applying mixed tax brackets within the same pay run for Working Holiday Makers (WHM). For example, if an employee is set to receive $2,000 in one pay cycle, and the $45,000 threshold is reached after the first $1,000, the first $1,000 should be taxed at 15%, and the remaining $1,000 at 30% — both within the same pay cycle, using mixed tax brackets.

  10. When booking more than one days holiday Xero does not allow you to edit the hours taken. Xero assumes everyone works a 5 day week. So if a part time employee who works 5 hours a day 3 days a week totalling 15 hours books two days holiday Xero assumes they will be taking just 6 hours when it should be 10. There is not an option to amend the hours taken like there is if you just book 1 day.

    Hi community, with the recent change in UK Payroll to introduce working pattern templates so now you can now create default work schedules for employees, ensuring their pay and leave are calculated correctly. You can have up to 100 templates with up to 13 weeks of entries. 

    Working patterns provide visibility around earnings rate calculations and will eliminate the need to amend miscalculations manually.

    As a Leave Approver, I want to be approve or reject leave applications directly from the notification email so that I don't have to continually login.

  12. There is an issue in payroll where you will get a rounding error due to other pay items such as Leave/Holiday.

    e.g. Salary £12,570 per year
    Paid in May the calculations are as follows:
    1685.692935=£956.41308 Rounded: £956.41
    8
    5.692935=£45.54348 Rounded: £45.54
    8*5.692935=£45.54348 Rounded: £45.54

    Total = £1047.50084 Rounded Total: £1047.49 instead of £1047.50

    This should be corrected somehow to use the correct number before rounding as the final calculation. The rounding can either be ignored from the line items, added to the first line item (the total pay) or added as a new line item specifically for the rounding…

    Hi team, to export a list of all Tracking categories in your org, you may find the Tracking Summary report of use to you here. Alternatively, you could run the Account Transactions report and Summarise by the Tracking category. 

    The one caveat here for both reports is that they'll only show a list of the tracking options that have been used within the date range the report is run. 

  14. We need the ability to further customise User Permissions. For example, a company could have 3 bank accounts and one credit card, all of which need reconciling, but I want two employees to share responsibility. So, employee A can do two bank accounts, and Employee B can do 1 bank account, and one credit card, and each can only see what they are responsible for. Secondly, we should be able to set up a Finance Manager who has certain permissions again separate from all other options.     Hi community, thanks for the strong support in being able to attach files within Xero Payroll, both for employee records and pay runs. We really appreciate you sharing the value and efficiency this could create for you when working with Xero. It's evident that being able to store important documents like licenses, sick notes, and onboarding papers directly in Xero would remove the need for external storing systems or manual processes.

    We acknowledge it's not the end goal but wanted to highlight the use of apps, as some have shared like Dext, to help bridge this gap in the meantime.

    I want to assure you that enabling attachments in payroll is part of our long-term intentions. However, to deliver this functionality effectively and reliably, we first need to develop some foundational elements within our payroll platform.

    Hi team, thank you for engaging with us on your needs around auto super. I want to confirm that our product team are aware of your interest in this here.

    Right now, there are a few other items that need their immediate attention, so while there are no immediate plans for developing this, it's something they'll continue to review as resource becomes available. If there is any change to share around this we'll update you all through this idea.

  18. In Xero Payroll, it would greatly improve efficiency if the "Save & Next" button appeared at the top of the employee pay details screen, not just at the bottom.

    For businesses with detailed pay setups (multiple earnings lines, deductions, reimbursements, etc.), scrolling to the bottom of every employee’s pay screen just to click "Save & Next" is time consuming and disruptive to workflow.

    Adding this button to the top would:

    • Streamline navigation during pay runs

    • Reduce unnecessary scrolling

    • Improve accessibility for users reviewing multiple employee pays in one session

  19. Multi select or more filter options when processing superannuation payments. This would expediate processing super payments for large employers. For example, you should be able to filter the super payment to show only last month super and select all and submit for payment. At the moment, if we want to process the previous month's super, we have to manually unselect each employee super that relates to the next month or quarter that we aren't required to pay yet.

  20. Can we have an audit trail, even if similar to invoices/bills, where we can see the who, date & time of the payslips being sent out for a pay calendar?
    This helps to know the payslips have been sent out and that there is an audit trail for this.
