  1. For web orders etc there is no way of adding to the invoice that the order has been paid.
    So an option within the Due Date section to choose 'Paid In Full' would eliminate the customer receiving the invoice appearing as if it needs to be settled.

  2. On the new invoicing, when additional columns are selected, a scrollbar is added to the invoice layout and interrupts the smooth capture process. Having to manually scroll from one side to the other to view details is not ideal.

    Consider either auto-adjusting the column widths or allow for the automatic expansion of the invoice layout width when additional columns are selected. This way, users could view all necessary details without the need for manual scrolling.

    We appreciate everyone's patience as we developed this work. I'm now pleased to share that we've released a new line item grid within invoicing that embodies a lot of changes our customers have been asking for. Most importantly to the idea here, our teams have optimised the padding, text size and columns width to make this more compact so you can see more detail without the need to scroll. 

    You'll also find that all fields now wrap rather than truncating so you can see all the detail of your cell. Thank you all for contributing and engaging with us, here.

  3. It is most annoying and time consuming to only be able to access half of the inventory items when raising an invoice. Instead one has to look up every item in the second half of the inventory, line by line before you can add it to an invoice. This is a step into the dark ages.

    Hi everyone, I'm pleased to share that the new line item grid is now available to all orgs.

    We know being able to see more of your inventory items is important and with the new grid we've expanded the number of items that you can see from 50 to 100.

    For majority of orgs this means you'll now be able to view your full list of inventory. We understand there are some orgs that have many more items, but want to be honest that we don't intend to increase this amount further. Thank you for all contributions and support you've shared with us, here. 

  4. In the classic invoicing history, we can see the date and timestamp, this is not available in the new invoicing - see attached screenshots.

    We use this time stamp a lot for trouble shooting - like what time or XPM and what time was the invoice approved. This helps if there is an integration problem or double up, or payment query.

    Well that was quick! 😉 It turns out along with an entry when an invoice is sent, our product team also managed to release time stamps 🎉

    In history & notes of new invoicing, next to the date you'll now see a time stamp of when an entry occurred. Thank you all who voted and shared with us on the idea, here. 

  5. New Invoicing: Auto adjust the account column width (or wrap text) so that the full account name can be seen when creating an invoice in New Invoicing. Currently users have to click on the account within each line to see the full account name. In Classic invoicing the account box automatically adjusts so that the full account name can be seen.

    Our new line item grid is now available! Thanks for sharing and supporting this idea for being able to see the full detail of your Account.

    With this release, all fields within the grid will wrap so if the contents spill over more than 1 line you can still read the full account within the field. Along with this, our product team have optimised padding, font size and column width to improve visibility and reduce the need to scroll when viewing your invoices. 

  6. Ability to alert a user when there’s duplicate invoices references when they’re about to approve it.

    Purpose: To prevent when user approved invoices in bulk through either the Draft or Awaiting Approval sections. So they can double check

    Our duplicate bills detection is now live! 🥳Xero will compare the contact, reference and amount of bills and credit notes to identify and help you review possible duplicates.

    Where duplicates are picked up you'll see a banner above the bills list where you can click to review, this option is also available from the 3 dot menu in the top left of the list.

    From the review page you'll be able to take action on any unpaid bills. See more on this feature in Xero Central.

  7. Can the new invoicing template show address like the classic invoicing template does?
    Classic invoicing - Shows company address and the person it is addressed to (Attention:) when viewing the invoicing from our end
    New Invoice - Only shows the company name and to check if the address is correct and if the person it is addressed to is correct you have to click on Edit or download it as a pdf to verify it.

    Hi team, with our latest updates to new invoicing you're now able to see your contacts address if they have one saved when viewing the invoice. 

    Appreciate the question around being able to edit the address and to confirm - you'll find in view mode you can click on the contact to view the contact card. If you'd like to edit the address click the small link in the top right of the contact card. This'll pop the contact open in a separate browser tab where you can edit and add a billing and/or delivery address. 🙂

  8. When an invoice is approved it must stay in the shape of an original table where the ledger account column and the tracking category columns are present, (presenting this information in a line with a small font is ridiculous).

    Hi Melissa, coming across your idea here you may have already noticed that a couple of weeks ago we released an update to the view of an invoice so all details are now shown in separate columns (similar to classic). 😊

  9. Please can you include an option on the invoices for payment due date -28 days. We have an option for 7 and 14 days but the majority of our invoices are 28 days from invoice date.

    This is possible from within the Invoice Settings page, Emily 😊 From here there is an option to set Invoice due date based on days after the invoice date, where you can enter a number anywhere between 0 - 99.

  10. It would be fantastic to have the ability to add a web link or QR code to a Googe review page or other external link (website, facebook etc).
    When an invoice or receipt of payment is sent it would be great to follow this up asking for client to give feedback on service provided or to have them follow along on social media etc.

  11. open attached files (especially PDFs) in the current window (same as old invoicing), not in a new tab which is automatically happening with new invoicing.
    is frustrating as you now need to go back and forth between tabs if you want to transpose info from the attachment into the invoice.
    Much more user friendly the old way with a resize-able/move-able viewing window within the same tab

    Hi team, thanks for staying tuned into the idea here for update of files preview. Our team have released a change, and you'll now find when you 'view' a file attached to an invoice this'll now show a side by side view so you can transcribe any detail as needed from the attachment to your invoice. ✨

  12. Need to be able to void/delete invoices on mobile app. (Not have to do it via xero on computer)
    VERY frustrating for clients who invoice daily from their phone and need to void or delete an invoice.

  13. volume of invoice creation limit per month and total transactions limit per month should be determined by what plan you subscribe. It should be a built into Xero depending on the type of plan. It should be stated clearly in your plan comparison tables

    Hi Trung, this is already available. The only plan we currently has that limits the number of quotes and invoices you can approve is the Starter plan (this will be 'Ignite' in the new plans coming). All other plans have unlimited invoices that can approved and sent. 

  14. There are some new features that I like about the new invoicing, like the ability to immediately a new contact. However this is limited to name and billing address, please add the ability to add email address here too!!!

    Other classic features that need to be included so I can use the new invoicing:
    - the ability to delete the Date and Due Date for a draft invoice. I draft invoices for the entire duration of a project once a contract is signed. The dates are not known at this preliminary stage however it is hugely beneficial to…

    Hi everyone, we have now made a change to the Contact card in new invoicing which allows you to enter more contact details from the invoice screen. 

    You'll find you can both add details for a new contact as well as edit an existing contact. The fields available from the Contact card include Contact name, Email, Billing address, the option to add a Delivery address, and phone number 😊

    Cairns, I know there are a couple of other ideas you've mentioned in your initial post here too. While we'll mark this idea as delivered for the primary request you may also like to join these ones below for any updates. 

  15. It would be nice to be able to set a default tracking category for invoice branding themes. As it is now, we have to set the tracking category manually for each line item on an invoice. For longer invoices this becomes very tedious and error prone.

    Hi Dominic, as Tracking was originally designed as an internal mechanism for tracking and monitoring parts of your business, it's not possible to make this field visible to your customers (re the invoice branding theme) we have a slightly different request for this here that you're welcome to join if you'd like to see this.

    However, if you'd like to set a default Tracking option to save yourself time when entering invoices you could set this on your Contact records. Within the Sales and Purchase sections you'll see an option to assign a Tracking option for each category you've set up.

  16. Can the bill or invoice number be added to the description shown when Xero automatically adds it to the short term cash flow. See picture for item added manually where we add the bill number and then item added by Xero where none is shown. This will really help where we have multiple items for the same customer/supplier for the same amount.

  17. The “Favourite” feature in the Reporting section is excellent, please consider expanding this to other dropdowns or sections across the platform.

    This could help address the long-standing need for sub-menu shortcuts or easier navigation, especially for commonly used tools like Repeating Invoices or the Chart of Accounts.

    Note: historically, I’ve used browser bookmarks as a workaround for this. However, recent updates seem to have made these bookmarks unreliable, some now fail to link correctly, and this issue appears to be getting worse. I fear with this update It may no longer be viable to rely on bookmarks as quick…

    Hi community, thanks for your feedback here! Chart of accounts page is now available within the Accounting menu 😊

    In terms of bookmarks you may have saved, there's a chance with the change some bookmarks may have stopped working - In this scenario you should be able to bookmark the page again and it'll work in the new experience.

  18. URGENT!!!! The new invoicing is quiet frustrating. It doesn't remember past settings when emailing the invoices. So now I need to remember EVERYTIME I send an invoice to click 'send me a copy', which I know I'm going to forget especially if I'm in a rush.

    ANNOYING!!!! There's an added step now to attach a pdf. I now need to click add files then drag the pdf, instead of simply dragging it and clicking to send with invoice or not.

    It would be good if the Save & Close button had and 'Email for Approval'. I email invoices…

  19. To show the customer's VAT/GST/Sales Tax number on the preview version of the customer's invoice, instead of having to download the PDF to check if it is there (after loading it via Xero Contact).

    Hi Kyle, the product team have been working on improving this area and have released a new invoice preview for the PDF. This will display any details you have included in the selected invoice template, so should display the customer's VAT/GST/Sales Tax number if you've included that. We hope this helps!

  20. JAX currently does not pull the customers due date from the customers file. Because that feature isn't live yet, JAX doesn't help our organization to be able to use JAX to create invoices. I wanted to bring it to your attention in the hopes your product team is working on it. You may already be working on it, I just didn't see it listed anywhere.

    Our customers have different invoice due dates depending on how their account is setup. Because of this, we would have to look up each due date for the customer and manually change it. It…

    Hi Brandy! Did you know it's already possible to do this in Xero via JAX?

    To get JAX to automatically use your contacts’ default due dates, simply prompt it once to apply the default dates set in each contact’s profile.

    From then on, JAX will create draft invoices that use those contacts’ specific due dates.
