  1. I am not liking downloading an invoice in suppliers invoices/drafts to view the invoice to coorect the draft to then approve. It's more steps, more time and adds another copy of the invoice in download form to my laptop storage. It feels like step backwards. Can we please go back to having a preivew in the drafts screen as that is where the preview was used most.

    Hi Lexi, you can preview a Draft bill as well as view a side by side preview of attached files to the Draft bill from the quick view option on the Bills list.

    If you click the eye icon to the left of the Bill in the list view this will open the Bill so you can view it's contents. From here you can click the 'Files' button to View any attached documents.

  2. When a sales invoice is created, there should be a place where i can see what is the gross profit. If not, I would have to go back and forth between the inventory module and the sales invoice module to maunally calculate.

    Hi Debbie, we'll move this across to delivered as mentioned in my last update it is possible to assign items of your invoice to Projects you've set up.

    If you're not seeing this column by default, you can click the 'Show/hide fields' button to add this to the grid view.

    If you've set up tracking for your projects and are interested in being able to add a new tracking category while invoicing we have a different idea for this across here that you can join for updates.

We use two tracking category's depending on which country the transaction relates to, the category options are the projects in that country, if a tracking option has been added to the wrong category on an invoice and you need to remove it you can't leave the category blank, on the old invoices and other areas of Xero you have (none) under the category options which you can choose if it is to be blank but this option is not there on the new invoicing

    Hey everyone, thanks again for suggesting this. Good news – the new line item grid is live for everyone now.

    With this update, getting rid of tracking is way easier. You can just hit backspace and tab through the fields, or we've also popped in a 'No tracking' option in the dropdown. We appreciate your feedback through product ideas – it really helps!

  5. Ability to upload invoice lines into sales invoices (like journal upload) When you have to produce large multi line sales invoices the ability to upload from an excel file would be a huge timesaver instead of having to enter each line individually.

    Hi team, as noted earlier - You can import invoices with a CSV file. If you'd like to add multiple lines for the same invoice you just need to use the same invoice number for each row of the file. See our help and tips on the formatting of the file. 😊

  6. I would prefer Projects to remain with its own Menu dropdown on the Homepage, not included under the Sales menu. I like the introduction of the "Expenses to review" and "Recent Invoice payments", but I would prefer to see them as a sub-menu from the Homepage dropdowns, not on the homepage.

    We appreciate receiving feedback on how adding Projects to the main navigation would be useful to you.

    As you may have noticed this is something our Product team paid close attention to and you'll find if you use Projects it is now its own menu on the new navigation experience.

  7. On the Edit page

    Please can you display the combined chart of accounts account code with the CoA description in the account column as you do on in the classic view, rather than us needing to click on the description that shows in the column, so the account code then also shows.

    We use three brands which use the same numbers for the same services but then add two alpha to show the brand: 200AA, 200BB, 200CC etc. and because of the display in the classic invoice edit view to help the double-checking before sending the invoice we check the…

    Thanks for the screenshots and feedback here. We've made a lot of changes to new invoicing since first announcing the retirement of classic invoicing. You'll find you can now view both the Account code and Account Name in the Account column when editing your invoices.

    Hi everyone, we've released a new experience when sending with new invoicing in Xero. You'll find with the side-by-side view along with being able to cc and Bcc others in the email you have the ability to also insert emojis into the email. 🎉

    The preview on the right will show you how these ill appear when sent to the customer. 😁

  9. We often get cheques or direct deposits from companies that are covering 5-10 different invoices. CSV functionality would be overkill for what I need.

    Right now I have to go into each invoice and mark them all separately as paid, and put a note that cites the total deposit amount so that we can keep track of the bank transactions.

    On the customer's invoice page, I would like to be able to click a checkbox button for the invoices that are included on the cheque, and mark them as paid under one transaction.

    Hi team, it sounds like batch deposits would meet your needs here. From the Awaiting payments list view you could select up to 50 invoices to batch together as one payment. When the cheque or deposit appears in your account you could then just select the one transaction to reconcile.

    While you can only batch 50 invoices at a time, you may like to add your vote and support on this idea, Peter. It's not something we have in planned development atm but if there's any change we'll update you all there.

  10. Go back to sending the monthly invoice with the notification. When you changed this so we had to log on and download the invoice it makes more work takes more time and we are less efficient. I had already emailed you about this but received no reply. Regards Arthur

    Hi community, our subscriptions are on a monthly basis. If you have any issues with receiving your invoice it's best to contact our specialists at Xero Support to take a closer look and confirm any queries round this.

  11. New Invoicing problem - we are copying new invoices from the existing purchase orders and prices on the new invoices are showing as a cost price instead of the sales prices! :(((. A massive issue! Also, the new invoicing look is not user friendly with a lot of space on the screen. We were very happy with the current invoicing when everything was working perfectly, and the new invoicing does not work for us at all. Dear Xero developers, please do not fix what is not broken and leave the current invoicing as it is.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate your feedback on this and I'd like to confirm that our team have implemented a change. Now, when you copy a purchase order to a draft invoice, where it includes items from your Products and services Xero will use the Sale price and account saved for that item when creating the invoice.

  12. When you go into a customer and click View recent invoices report, currently it shows a list of all their previous invoices, which is clear and easy to read. When you click on the new report version it shows a list of approved sent and paid invoices for all customers, but only for the current month. This is totally useless as you then have to filter it to the customer, and change the date back far enough to show all the invoices. Can you please change this so it is the same as the old report.

  13. Hello,

    When you go to add in a 'add payment' in new invoicing, today's date auto populates. If you click on this field to change the date, you HAVE to use the calendar and arrows, it won't let you type in a date.

    Can you please add this feature, like is available in most other areas of Xero?

    If you could also please allow any date format to be entered in his field this would be preferred, (yes like bank reconciliation dates, not like fixed assets dates which only allow 1 format of date to be entered)

    You can use the forward slash (/) or hyphen (-) as separators, making it quick and easy to enter the dates you need. Plus, all the handy keyboard shortcuts you already know will work in these date fields too, making the process even smoother.

  14. When I am in the Contact field and update the Contact and click Tab, the cursor moves from the Contact field to the Issue Date field and highlights the date in the Issue Date field.
    After I update the date in the Issue Date field and click Tab, the cursor moves from the Issue Date field to the Due Date field, momentarily highlights the date in the Due Date field and then immediately moves the cursor to the end of the date.

    Sorry to hear the troubles you're running into here, Sam. By default, when you press tab after entering the invoice date to move over to the due date, Xero will highlight the due date for you in the similar manner as it is doing for the invoice date and the invoice number boxes. If you're experiencing issues, or some thing isn't working as you'd expect it to, it's best if you could raise a case with our Xero Support team on Xero Central and our specialists can investigate with you 1-1.     If this is the common selection for due date you can set this up as a Default in your Invoice Settings, Denise. It's also possible to set this up as a default for individual contacts if you'd prefer too. 🙂

    Alternatively, you might find it handy to use the shortcut when entering your invoices. You can simply type +10 in the due date field and it will set the date to 10 days after the Invoice Issue date.

  16. We enter bulk bills into the system and can only attached a copy of the invoice after authorised. To upload these signed invoices are time consuming having to open each bill and then drag or attached the copy invoice.

    It would save us so much time if these invoices could be attached directly to the bills in purchase overview instead of having to open every bill.

    Hi team, appreciate it's been a while since this was first raised here. Recently we released some changes to the list view of bills where you can now 'Quick view' your bills from the list view without having to open each individually.

    You'll find by clicking on the eye icon in the list it'll open up a side view of the bill where you can also add attachments 😊

    Hey community - the team have been working on the ability to include repeating transactions in Short-term cash flow, and I'm happy to announce that it's being released today 🎉

    Since this idea was updated to reflect the first point in the description, I'm switching it over to delivered.

    As mentioned in our last update, if you're interested in print/export functionality for Xero Analytics Plus you can add your vote to the idea here

    I can’t see any other ideas about the ability to review past transactions but can confirm that's not currently planned. If it’s still important to you feel free to start a new idea for it.

  18. Currently: In new invoicing we are provided with suggested items when completing fields such as "To:".
    Using Enter at this points selects that highlighted suggestion, but using Tab ignores the highlighted item.

    Request: Enable Tab to be used in new invoicing to confirm a highlighted selection. The same function as Enter currently provides within this context.
    Tab is an active keyboard option in other areas of Xero such as Bank Reconciliations so this would keep the UI more consistent.

    Hi team, we recently made a change to the tabbing behaviour, so now when you tab to a field and highlight an option, tabbing to the next field will hold the selection that was highlighted.

    For example pressing Tab in the 'To' field will hold the highlighted contact, and move you onto the 'Issue date' field.

  19. When previewing the attachments / supporting documents, it would be great to be able to move the preview onto a different screen so can more easily mark of items as correct as reviewer, without having to download/ open.

  20. Option to Auto Fill Account, Tax Rate, Sales person for all rows. It gets quite time consuming to manually add for each line (even if it is a button at the top of the fields allowing auto fill of all, that would greatly help)
