  1. Ability to specify a set approver for a specific employee for when they submit leave requests.

    Employees who are nominated as a leave approver should only be able to approve leave for the specific employees who have them nominated as their approver.

    Alternatively, employees who have the "Authorised to Approve Leave" checkbox ticked should only be able to approve leave by employees in the same Employee Group.

    Only payroll admins should be able to approve leave for all employees.

  2. It would be really helpful if I could produce reports (by various time periods as usual) that list all the bank reconciliations that I have posted to my various accounts that I have created. This is useful for me to check in my book-keeping role to ensure that I have reconciled everything to the correct account, especially before passing everything to my accountant to produce the accounts.

    Example:
    Does my "Postage & Stationery" account include only postage and stationery bank statement reconciliations?
    Does my "Salaries" account include only salary bank statement reconciliations?

  3. Include the payment dates and payments made when sending invoices to clients.
    Currently once the invoice is downloaded or sent to client, it shows the total amount paid, but not broken down by date as per the screen shot i have attached. Currently it only shows «InvoiceTotalNetPayments»

  5. On the invoice template a mandatory field to be completed of the business email address. Majority on Xero invoices sent don't have an email address which makes it difficult to contact the business via email.

    Thanks for the confirmation, Andrew and Sue. While it's possible to add the organisations email in the Contact details field of a Standard branding theme, and could be inserted as Static text on an Advanced template, appreciate there is no specific field for this atm, and why you may like to make this mandatory or a default on the template.

    We'll leave your idea for making this mandatory here and you may like to also join this idea for providing as a specific field for this in advanced templates. Being open it's not something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll keep an eye on the interest here and share if there's any plans made.

  6. Attach the raised purchase order to the invoice rather than creating supplier invoice from it. Upload the created purchase order in Xero - against the supplier invoice uploaded to Xero awaiting authorisation

  7. Could we include a notification when a staff member has a birthday? This has multiple benefits including allowing us to check if their award salary or benefits need to change and also be able to congratulate them on their birthday. Surely it wouldn't be a huge change to make but would be a unique and helpful change for many SME as I currently need to create a new Google calendar for staff birthdays, creating additional work especially when we have 50+ staff and low retention in hospitality. Thank you.

    Appreciate the interest through the idea, but want to be open that we don't have any development planned for adding reminders or notification of an employees birth date atm. 

    I see there are some supporters from NZ and UK in the idea here and wanted to point you across to these specific ideas for each region that I'd encourage adding your support for - Each version of Xero Payroll has been developed specifically for the that regions tax and reporting obligations and this would need to be developed for each version separately. Thanks

  8. Custom Reports: It would be great to be able to add a formula row in the custom reports that can display as a percentage. For example GP% and NP%
    Or just have the ability to add a GP% and NP% row.

    Thanks for your input and letting us know how useful being able to show formula rows as %'s would be when reporting from Xero.

    This is something our team have plans to pick up work for soon and for now we'll move to Under review, I'll return to share as this moves along 😊

  11. Although you can save a custom Account Transactions report as the new default report, Xero still displays the original default Account Transactions columns if you drill down to account activity from Balance Sheet or Income Statement.
    This currently requires re-adjusting the column settings every time.

    While this isn't something we have direct plans for atm, we're keeping an active eye on the idea here and will share if there's any change. 

  12. In Retail KPI's are important so on a month by month report we would include the
    GP % on Liquor sales
    GP% on Food Sales
    Wage %
    At present it comes out just as a number '61'
    It would help if this could be formatted as 61% (italics & bold)

  13. I would love to see superannuation opening balances split into two sections. One flows through to the superannuation payment section to be paid, and the other just remains on the balance sheet. As an example, we have a new client who has not paid any superannuation YTD, we have already prepared superannuation shortfall forms for 2 quarters, and the balance is to be paid this quarter. The opening balances have been entered as shown from the previous bookkeeping software, however now I have to split the opening balance to ensure the payment can be processed in Xero for the current…

  15. Improve Text Formatting - Invoicing

    • Ability to change all text to caps, lowercase or sentence case (like Microsoft word feature) to enable more consistent, professional invoicing in less time. For example when adding multiple billable expense lines.

    • Ability to sort invoice lines by the headers, i.e. description (alphabetically), by price or amount high-low etc.

  16. When you're in the pay run screen, you can only download ALL payslips as one PDF file. We need to be able to download payslips by employee group so they can be sent to the individual managers of the employee groups for review/approval.

  17. Can you please add balances to the edit layout function so we can see what we are mapping or where things have automapped? I often need to open the financials in a separate tab while editing the layout because I can't see the balances and it would be nice if I didn't have to do that.

  18. Add payment method to the main screen

    If a Payment Method was on the main Invoice Awaiting Payment screen, maybe next the sent icon this would make things so much easier, you can also see clearly who is on Direct Debit.

  19. Ability to change the file name when exporting reports

    When exporting reports, it defaults to Company name_Report Name.pdf. We have a format of naming files in our business which does not match the default format. It would be simpler to be able to change the default file exporting system so that it more closely fits our standards, saving time. This could be added into the company settings. Options include: Report should say: Text [placeholder] Text [placeholder], and "include or exclude underscore".
    Options for placeholders include date printed, company name, report name, etc.
