Find & Recode - Ability to change multiple accounts at once
It would be great if we could have an option to use find & recode to change to several accounts at the same time (similar to cash coding), rather than having to use the function over again each time. For example, if a client codes many transactions to general expenses, it would be useful to have a single screen where you can change the coding, with a column for "Current Account" and a second column for "New Account".

Subscription - 24 hour cancellation period
When purchasing a subscription, there should be a 24 hour cancellation period. On many occasions I have purchased subscriptions that were not correct or not necessary. I upgraded a few of my clients to the Early Plan from the Partner Plan as we needed Hubdoc. Then we found out that Cash Coding was not included and was not stated in the plan description. At that point, I was stuck waiting for 30 days before I could correct it.
3 votesWe thank you for sharing your feedback with us here. Do understand it's a bit difficult after the fact, however we recommend looking up and comparing the different bundles for subscriptions on our website before purchasing. If you have any questions our specialists are readily available through the Contact Xero Support option at the bottom of most pages through out Xero Central.

Cash flow - add invoice or bill number to "What" description
Can the bill or invoice number be added to the description shown when Xero automatically adds it to the short term cash flow. See picture for item added manually where we add the bill number and then item added by Xero where none is shown. This will really help where we have multiple items for the same customer/supplier for the same amount.

Increased Early Plan pricing
I am a refuge from QuickBooks (after decades of use). I switched to Xero because of the ever-increasing costs of QuickBooks since they switched to a subscription model.
I have to have two Xero subscriptions -- one for my (very) small business and one for my home bookkeeping. (With QuickBooks, I could manage both with a single account.) At the Early level, that's $15 per month apiece, $30 a month for both, or $360 a year in all. That's less than QuickBooks, but it's a lot for my modest needs.
Now with the added "cash coding" feature --…
2 votesAppreciate you sharing your feedback on this and thoughts int he community here. Currently, Xero offers a discount when you subscribe to more than one small business pricing plan. The one thing you'll need to ensure is that each organisation is subscribed to the same email address - We have more information on Xero Central, and you can connect with our specialists through the Contact Xero Support option at the bottom of the page if you'd like to discuss your subscriptions further.

New invoicing - Display the item code
Display the item PRODUCT CODE (similar to the old invoicing) - we have a lot of similarly named products, so need to see the product code to differentiate.
103 votesQuick turn around on this one, team. Today we've released a change, and you'll now find item code is shown when viewing an invoice with new invoicing. Thank you for your feedback and voting on this idea.

Report Codes - Add/Edit codes from Chart of Accounts
Can we please have the report codes shown & editable on the chart of accounts page, and also through the actual reports?
Reasons for the request:
1. It is a logical workflow to specify how an account is to be reported when setting it up
2. It saves having to view the report, realise a report code needs correction and then having to close the report to do this, if you can drill down straight from the report as displayed.
3. As the account balance is shown on the Chart of Accounts page, it makes it clearer which accounts actually…45 votesHi team, we hear you and appreciate the feedback to our last update. I'm pleased to share that now along with the previous update of the ‘Report code’ column to the Chart of Accounts page, we have also just added a button to the main Chart of Accounts screen 'Edit Report Code Mappings' which takes Xero practice users directly to the report code mapping screen.
Taking it that next step to make it easier for practice users to update report codes for new and amended accounts in the chart of accounts. Thanks for all your support in this.

Multicurrency - Change behaviour of Unrealised Gains/Losses with Bank Accounts
Xero has a gap in handling Fx gains/losses.
It is great at both Realised and Unrealised on bills and invoices but it drops the ball on Cash at Bank. It treats it all as Unrealised, which is where the flaw is.You can have an empty currency bank account which has a residual functional currency balance and has movements on the TB every month due to revaluation. This is clearly nonsense.
I have also been told to ignore the exposure column on the Fx report as it is meaningless. For Fx gains/losses Cash is a document in exactly the same…

Invoicing | Billable expense include Item Code and details
Please keep the current feature of adding item codes to billable expenses so that the preset charge out rate and account pulls through. In the new system adding an item code wipes out the billable expense.
26 votesHi community, thanks for sharing back with us on the flow through of information for Billable expenses.
Our product team have implemented a change, and you should now find that when you add a billable expense related to an inventory item, and select to add the items to your invoice the item code will be shown.
If you're finding this is not the case for you it would be best for our Xero Support specialists to take a closer look at things with you 1-1 - you can touch base with them through Xero Central.

Bills - Bulk code lines
It would save so much time if there was an option to bulk code multiple lines on one bill, rather than selecting the account code for each line individually.
10 votesHi team, with little interaction on this idea in sometime and based on the existing options that have been shared we are going to move this idea to delivered.
To reiterate the options - you can set defaults for accounts, items and contacts to fill fields and save time when entering bills, alternatively depending on your workflow you may also find importing bills from CSV where you can bulk populate account codes for multiple lines on one bill handy.

Dashboard | Cash in & Out - Link to new bank account summary
Reports: Bank Summary Report
The recent shift to new reports has not considered the Bank Summary Report. It is an important report in the sense that it tracks movements and balances for all the banks.
Please consider creating the Bank Summary report in the new format.2 votesHi team, thanks for the idea here and apologies we've not rounded back on this sooner. We made an update so this widget now links to the new Bank Summary report 🙂

New Invoicing - Show combined Account Code and Name
On the Edit page
Please can you display the combined chart of accounts account code with the CoA description in the account column as you do on in the classic view, rather than us needing to click on the description that shows in the column, so the account code then also shows.
We use three brands which use the same numbers for the same services but then add two alpha to show the brand: 200AA, 200BB, 200CC etc. and because of the display in the classic invoice edit view to help the double-checking before sending the invoice we check the…
4 votesThanks for the screenshots and feedback here. We've made a lot of changes to new invoicing since first announcing the retirement of classic invoicing. You'll find you can now view both the Account code and Account Name in the Account column when editing your invoices.

New Invoicing - Add new Tracking option
The ability to add a tracking code from within the 'new invoicing' bills.
Classic invoicing has this ability and it would be excellent to have it in the new invoicing also.288 votesHi everyone, we've now released the ability to add a new tracking option within new invoicing to all customers!
Just like classic, you'll find using the option +Create new tracking opens a modal within the screen that allows you to easily add a new option for that tracking category on the fly.😊
Thanks again for all your feedback around this improvement and it's meaning to you here.

Bills - Changing VAT code on paid supplier invoices
It would save a lot of time if it would be possible to edit the VAT code on paid and reconcilled invoices, just like you can change the nominal code. The VAT return is done at the end of each quarter, which means that the majority of invoices and expenses have been paid, by the time you are running your VAT return and double checking that all invoices and expenses have been correctly coded for VAT. At the moment, if an item is miscoded I need to go to that item, unreconcile the paymemt, go back to the item and…
2 votesHi community, we have a help article surrounding this topic as there are a few different options available. If you're an adviser you could consider Find & recode as an option but would highly recommend testing this out in the demo company to get an idea of how this works if it's your first time.

Xero dashboard - See client code in quick search
We often use the quick search feature in Xero, and it is often used just to get the client code for files. It would be incredibly helpful if the client code populated next to the client name in the quick search bar to make it easier to see

Xero Ledger - split payment
There should be a way to input dates when we want to split the payment to multiple items (invoices/bills) when we reconcile (e.g. cash code or find and match).
Right now, if I want to input multiple invoices/bills that is linked to a one payment, all invoices/bills will need to have same date as the payment date which is technically incorrect.
1 voteHi all, returning to the idea we're going to shift this across to delivered. As noted i my earlier response you can manually enter a payment amount and date of payment on an invoice or bill - Meaning if you need the payment date to differ to the date of the statement line imported this could be manually entered on the invoice or bill pre-hand and matched to the one payment when reconciling.
Alternatively, when reconciling a transactions through find & match in Xero you have the option to 'split' where you can apply a set amount of the payment to the transaction rather than the full amount.

Subscription - Allow downgrade any time (effective at the end of the subscription period)
It is ridiculous that you are forced to set a calendar reminder to come back and downgrade a Xero Subscription in a month's time.
A client may need to increase their subscription purely to account for the crossover period of one staff member leaving and a new one starting and whilst we have no issue paying the additional for the one extra employee, to make it impossible to downgrade for a month after that upgrade is a pathetic cash grab by Xero.
Make it possible to downgrade the file immediately and have it take effect from the future date.7 votesWe appreciate the feedback about downgrading plans through this idea. While we've made sure to share this internally with our teams. To communicate transparently with our customers we'll no longer be accepting ideas about Xero pricing plans and plan structures on Xero Product ideas, as we cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.

Xero App store - Connected apps price and feature comparison
I am trying to find an app to help with cash flow forecasting. Xero could not have made it harder to compare. Why does the app overview page not say anything about the cost of the app? It only says free trial is available, however, I want to see what the ongoing cost is, before I even consider giving it a go. With Xero increasing costs so often and by an outrageous percentage, I find the lack of transparency of connected apps cost rather disingenuous. Xero needs to make it easier to not just search but also to compare features…
9 votesWe appreciate for many small businesses having more information about connected apps pricing is important when making and choosing solutions for your business.
While this isn't currently available, it's something our team are looking into surfacing through the Xero App store.
There's a bit of work to go into it, but we'll keep you updated of any progress for this here. 😊

Inventory - Copy existing items
Ability to copy existing items/code.
Purpose: Saving users’ time from re-typing all the details.
44 votesHi community, Our team have been doing some recent work in this space and they have released a change so you can now copy/duplicate existing items! The new item will still need a unique item code and you'll see the name is duplicated with the tag 'copy' at the end. 😊
Thanks for all your feedback and sharing with us for the idea here.

UK Payroll - Auto updates for national Insurance category (NI)
It would be great if Xero could implement an automatic change/suggestion to change to category A after an H-category employee doesn't meet the criteria anymore.
One of our employees just had his birthday and I noticed the category doesn't automatically update and there's no flag to say they might now be ineligible for a certain code.
I imagine there are more companies with the same problem where it's gone unnoticed that the National Insurance Category hasn't automatically updated as nearly everything else does and it's easy to miss a birthday!164 votesHi community, we've rolled out a change to Xero Payroll (UK), and now Xero will automatically apply the new NI category to a pay run based on an employees birthdate, and if they are entering into a new NI category. Meaning you no longer have to manually track and updates these.
We appreciate all your contributions and letting us know how valuable this feature is for you. 😊
