    Hi community, I’m pleased to share that Additional Notes for a contact are now live to everyone!

    As mentioned in my last response - You’ll find the feature available to use when adding or editing a Contact, at the bottom of the Contact details section.

    You can edit the contact at any time to edit or delete text that you’ve entered in this field. Once saved, you’ll see the saved text shown in the right panel of a Contacts record.

    To confirm, this does not apply to notes that are added to the History & Notes of a Contact. If you'd like the ability to edit and Delete notes we'd recommend using the additional notes option.

Would like to see switch rules work in the notes to the financial accounts the same way they work on the balance sheet - allowing for reclassification of accounts with negative balances, for example negative current asset to current liability or negative non-current liability to move to non-current asset.

    These issues are particularly acute when an account goes from positive to negative and vice-versa between current year and prior year.

    On the basis the switch rule does not operate correctly in the notes to the financial accounts, means that in many cases the switch rule is rendered an unusable feature…

  4. Add feature on the Dashboard for users with the Adviser permission to add client notes.

    Purpose: Notes specific to that client can be held here so that other advisers who're less familiar with the client can quickly check what they need to consider when working specifically in that file.

  5. Currently you can put titles and notes etc on quotes and invoices etc. However the client does not see any of this. This is critical to be able to add notes etc that don't belong on a line item

    Hi everyone, an update to my earlier message:


    This change was specific to users of the Australian payroll.


    Apologies, and we'll shift this idea back to 'Submitted' so we can continue to track and share if there are developments in New Zealand Payroll.


    However, at the moment this is not in the team's plans.

  9. The Discuss Tab should have a history trail showing the user and date that a comment was submitted.

    Also registered comments should not be editable or removed once submitted. The ideal situation would be if the tab took on the functionality of a chat system also allowing to tag a user of that particular company in a discussion prompting a notification to the user.

    Once a transaction is processed, the notes should be attached to the transaction in the history and notes section for future reference.

  11. When clients use Xero Me they use the notes section on the timesheet to communicate and for some staff advise their managers what tasks they have completed on that day. Xero help confirmed today these notes are no longer visible once the timesheet is approved meaning we have lost visibility of this information. My client is very unhappy that I did not advise them of this issue, unfortunately as this is a new way of completing the timesheets I wasn't aware this was going to happen, previously my clients were sending me a spreadsheet each fortnight and I was manually…

  12. It would be really useful to be able to tag users in the notes of documents, like to create a task or ticket so they are aware of whatever is needed to be changed/be aware of regarding a certain bill.
    Otherwise an internal communication/ ticket/email needs to be sent, this would simplify all the daily work and make the notes actually useful

  13. When on the awaiting payment tab for invoices - having a small notes section visible so you don't have to go in and view each invoice to see if there are any notes. For example if an invoice is dispute and the payment expected date isn't known it would ideal just to see it at a quick glance.

  14. As with the financial side in Xero and their history and notes section, it would be very useful to be able to track who has approved leave or timesheets in Xero Payroll. We need site on which manager has approved the leave application or timesheet to mitigate any risk of the wrong people approving these.

  15. After the recent Xero upgrade, the ability to view leave dates disappeared from the employees' History. Instead, a column titled "Next pay day" was added, which does not seem useful because the employees have left the company.

  16. REQUESTING LEAVE
    Firstly, when an employee is submitting a leave application, they are unable to adjust the number of hours they are taking when submitting this leave when the leave period is for more than one day. This is problematic for part-time employees that may work different hours on different days of their working week.

    Also, employees used to be able to see the number of hours taken but this is no longer the case - why is this?

    Hi everyone, appreciate we haven't engaged directly in this idea sooner and reading through the detail of the original post here we do want to break this down a little to provide more clarity.

    It's correct that currently it's not possible to enter a number of hours leave if the request spans more than a day. We have another idea that's gathering support around this and we'd urge those interested in this to join.

    Similarly, we have another idea based around the permission to approve or decline leave request and provide read-only access to Payroll reports that you can support, here.

    Understanding the importance around being able to see history of events in payroll, you may have noticed we've rolled out payroll history to the employee record-level and most recently you can now see a history of user activity in the Organisation, Calendars, Pay Items, Superannuation & STP Settings…

  17. Ability to allocate credit notes to a customer.

    Purpose: To save users’ time rather than having to manually go into the Billable Expenses, outstanding report, find the original invoice and edit it to remove from recharging the client.

  19. I am a relatively new user to Xero but have over 35 years MYOB experience as an Accountant. While I enjoy many of the Xero features there is a fundamental one that is missing and frustrates me endlessly. In MYOB under contacts there is a history tab where you can easily see spend history by month for several years for customers and suppliers. This is such a simple but powerful screen that is completely missing in Xero. Running reports is slow and un-necessary.

  20. The Payroll History Report needs to be available as a customizable report for which you can choose the reporting period and include all employees in one report. Currently only available for one employee at a time.
