Increased Early Plan pricing
I am a refuge from QuickBooks (after decades of use). I switched to Xero because of the ever-increasing costs of QuickBooks since they switched to a subscription model.
I have to have two Xero subscriptions -- one for my (very) small business and one for my home bookkeeping. (With QuickBooks, I could manage both with a single account.) At the Early level, that's $15 per month apiece, $30 a month for both, or $360 a year in all. That's less than QuickBooks, but it's a lot for my modest needs.
Now with the added "cash coding" feature -- which…
2 votesAppreciate you sharing your feedback on this and thoughts int he community here. Currently, Xero offers a discount when you subscribe to more than one small business pricing plan. The one thing you'll need to ensure is that each organisation is subscribed to the same email address - We have more information on Xero Central, and you can connect with our specialists through the Contact Xero Support option at the bottom of the page if you'd like to discuss your subscriptions further.

Subscription - Allow downgrade any time (effective at the end of the subscription period)
It is ridiculous that you are forced to set a calendar reminder to come back and downgrade a Xero Subscription in a month's time.
A client may need to increase their subscription purely to account for the crossover period of one staff member leaving and a new one starting and whilst we have no issue paying the additional for the one extra employee, to make it impossible to downgrade for a month after that upgrade is a pathetic cash grab by Xero.
Make it possible to downgrade the file immediately and have it take effect from the future date.7 votesWe appreciate the feedback about downgrading plans through this idea. While we've made sure to share this internally with our teams. To communicate transparently with our customers we'll no longer be accepting ideas about Xero pricing plans and plan structures on Xero Product ideas, as we cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.

Client's financial year summary - Single Donation receipt(AU)
As a NFP receiving multiple donations from multiple donors, we require summary of donations/purchases made by the donor/client as a single receipt including each donation/payment's invoice number, date paid, individual amount paid, total amount paid. The summary will need to include the NFP's logo, ABN, etc.

AU Payroll - Resubmit bounced automatic superannuation payments
Currently, when super payments bounce, Xero sends us an email letting us know that a payment to a particular super fund from a particular payment batch has failed. Once we've identified whose it was, and got the updated details, we then have to contact Xero to get a re-processing authorised.
All of this takes time, during which the Directors of my clients may become liable for late super payments. I'd like a button to click to speed up at least the contacting Xero for re-processing bit - preferably as part of the process identify the refund received and connect the…
15 votesHi team, sorry we haven't joined in this idea sooner. Earlier this year we released an improvement so now if an auto superannuation payment is returned the authoriser will receive an email including the reason for the return. They will be able to withdraw the payment from the processed batch to reprocess the contributions. We have detailed help for this on Xero Central, but if you run into any snags as always our Xero Support team are available to help. 🙂

Xero Accounting App (iOS) - Account code qwerty keyboard need numeric keyboard option
Current Operation when the category search is made QWERTY appears
Idea Open Keyboard with Numeric Keyboard above or as an alternativeReason speeds up entry for known codes eg I can enter 980 as category quicker
1 voteHi Grant 👋, thanks for sharing your feedback on the Xero Accounting iOS app keyboard options. We appreciate you explaining how a numeric keyboard could help when entering account codes. After reviewing this idea, we’ve moved it to Feedback status. The numeric keyboard does appear when you are entering in a number only field (quantity and price) and as many people type the name for the account code (category) the option is to switch to a numeric keyboard. Thanks again for helping us improve the app. Your feedback helps us prioritise enhancements that make data entry faster on mobile.

Reporting - Consolidation into one management accounts pack
Hi. We are an International company with various subsidiaries in the UK and overseas. We are using a bespoke accounting system which is not even cloud based. In fact all on the spreadsheets. Designed to serve the purpose. However, It took me a while to persuade our managers to move onto something more advanced, user friendly, that would create all accounts on the platform, not on manual spreadsheets.
There are a few downsides I am facing on Xero. This software doesn't have any built in accruals and prepayments invoice system, that could do the accruals and prepayments for you usins…3 votesHi Svetlana, thanks for sharing your feedback and thank you for trying Xero. We appreciate you explaining how this could support your international operations. While Xero currently supports managing multiple organisations separately, consolidation of the reports is currently done outside of Xero. With regards to the accruals and pre-payments, we recommend raising a case with our support team as they would be able to look into it a bit more.

Bank Rule - Set tax treatment (Inclusive, Exclusive, No Tax)
We have some suppliers that charge tax (e.g. VAT) and others who do not (e.g. from abroad).
On the bank rule creation/editing page, it would be useful to be able to specify the default taxation status (i.e. Tax Inclusive, Tax Exclusive, No Tax) for all transactions being processed by that rule.
This would save having to manually select the correct tax category on every bank rule transaction during reconciliation.
3 votesHi team, not having any response to our last update we will move this idea to delivered. To confirm - when using bank rules to create transactions you can specify the tax rate that should be applied to the transaction within step 3 where you allocate line items.
For example you can set if the bank rules created from certain suppliers would have VAT rate 20%, zero rated or No VAT.

Gift Aid - Option to automatically claim Gift Aid
As a charity we would really like the ability to be able to have Gift Aid and reporting on Xero, otherwise we would have to get a 3rd party piece of software to run Gift Aid.
It would be so great to be able to mark on a customers record that they allow us to claim gift aid on the monies they pay to us and then in turn for us to be able to run a report to submit to HMRC of how much Gift Aid we are able to claim from customers in others words extra income from…17 votes -
Xero - Get approval from the Danish Business Authority
The Danish Business Authority requires Accounting Systems to be approved by them in order for you to use their system in the country. XERO currently have no plans to get approved by them, I think they should get approval from DBA, and other countries, to enable subsidiaries of Global companies to use the same software as their parent companies.

BAS - Automatic Reconciliation of BAS Payments
Auto create entries for items included in “Amounts the Tax Offices owes you” and under the accounts of PAYGW, GST and PAYG, when an activity statement is created in Xero.
Purpose: Save time not having to manually create once Activity Statement is completed
16 votesHi everyone, roll out for this release has begun and will ramp up really quickly so you should all have it within the next couple of days. 😊
We've released a new feature that allows you to easily create a draft bill or invoice directly from the BAS (Business Activity Statement) statement page after finalising or filing it for the period.
The created transaction will be pre-populated with most of the required details such as contact details, account, amount, and description, for you to review and approve. You'll be able to view the transaction directly from the BAS return, or through Invoice and Bills. 🎉

Bill due date
Hi, you already have a 'bill due date' which you can set up to default to various options but you have to enter a number between 1-31 and we have suppliers who allow us to pay 60 days end of month. Could this be amended?
2 votesHi Karen, it sounds like you may have the default for bills set for 'of the following month' or 'of the current month', however you can change this to [x] days after the end of the bill month. See our direction on how to adjust this on Xero Central.

Customise purchase overview page
My company operates from multiple sites. Would like the ability to customise the purchase overview page, so you can filter on the sites
2 votesHi Liz, when you refer to sites would you currently be using Tracking in Xero to monitor this information?

Organisation details - Shareholder register
It will be good idea if Xero got facility to have a share holder register (like fixed asset register) with the control account in Equity area or facility to upload share holder details, address, number shares issued, dividends due and paid. currently we maintain this register in excel which is an additional thing to maintain.

Dividends and distributions - Automated transaction type to Equity and Assets
It would save time and avoid accounting errors if a new document type existed (akin to Bills) that can be sent to recipients (contacts) generating the accounting transactions appropriate for distributions such as dividends and appointments from trusts. Those transactions would be on equity and assets accounts (not expense accounts and accounts payable as is the case for Bills).
It would be great if such processing could be applied to contacts in bulk (e.g. a shareholders register) but the possibility of accounting for distributions singly would be a good start.

Pricing Plan - UK Payroll only subscriptions
Xero Payroll only subscriptions!
It would be great to be able to open a payroll only Xero subscription for clients who currently don't need/use Xero for bookkeeping. For example, I have a small client who employees a few people but I only provide year end accounting services to which I use the Ledger subscription to complete the year end accounts. I currently utilise Sage payroll online for the monthly payroll reporting but if I could integrate this into Xero without the need for a main subscription, this would help me keep everything in one place. Even if Payroll…

Cash flow - add invoice or bill number to "What" description
Can the bill or invoice number be added to the description shown when Xero automatically adds it to the short term cash flow. See picture for item added manually where we add the bill number and then item added by Xero where none is shown. This will really help where we have multiple items for the same customer/supplier for the same amount.

Bills to Pay - Feature to save Supplier Statements
Description:
I would like to suggest the incorporation of a new functionality in Xero that allows users to save supplier statements within the system. This feature should not post any transactions to the chart of accounts but instead, save the supplier's name, balance, and date as a memo associated with the statement. This information should be viewable within the supplier's profile.Implementation:
The saved statement details should be accessible in a dedicated section of the supplier's profile, providing a historical record of statement balances on specific dates. Furthermore, these statement details could be utilized in the Aged Payables report,…11 votesHi team, as shared earlier - we made an update to Contacts a little earlier this year so you can now upload and save a Suppliers statement as a file directly to the contacts record in Xero.
It's also possible to add notes within the details when editing a contact which are visible on the right of the contacts record once saved.

files
After uploading a file, one must select account and what it is (bill, invoice, expense, spend money)etc, before you see what it is. I should be able to open file, add all the details, while viewing the image/document
3 votesHi Tonya, it's currently possible to view a file you've uploaded to the library before having to add it to a transaction. Just click on the file name.

Reporting - Ability to view transactions including date of transactions & date created
Transactions posted after a period end affecting prior periods
Lock dates had not been set and as a result, there has been a few entries in to the last financial year.
How can I locate these entries?I have tried a transaction report, but there are no parameters that I could enter.
Ideally.Example -
Our year end is 31st August.
I would like a report that looks for transactions entered between dates 1/4/22 - 21/9/22 that have a transaction date up to 31.8.21 (last year end)In other accounting systems, you could take a unique reference number (URN)…
12 votesHi Kellie, you might find History & notes useful for getting the insight you're after here.
Though it's not possible to filter by the transaction date - You can set a date range like you've mentioned to view activity that has occurred post your orgs year end and ability to filter by Item types so you just view the item types you're interested in.
Keen to hear if this helps.

Xero Accounting App - Show Quantity on Hand for Tracked inventory items
in the APP can we have inventory stock levels show when you search for an item.
Currently it only shows if you have xero stock and try and save.
I have to use the desktop version to view levels6 votesHi team, thanks for your input on the idea here. Now in the Accounting app you'll see the current Quantity on Hand for Tracked inventory items shown when you add an item to a Sales Invoice or Quote.😊
