  1. To request with Xero to add in Debit Note feature, which it is issued by buyer/ purchaser to the seller where under this circumstance a debit note is given by the buyer/purchaser to the seller to reduce the total value of the bills/invoices.

    Currently, only supplier can issue credit note, but as buyer in Xero can't really generate debit note if encounter return of stock/reduce total value of purchase invoices & etc

  3. The assurance dashboard has been around for a while and it's great to have a number of checks accessible in the same place. However, there doesn't appear to have been much development in this area i.e. we are still not able to export out reports from the Assurance Dashboard.

    Hi everyone, appreciate the feedback on my last question. I've slightly amended the title of this idea. As a bit of an update from when I last posted we have actually made an update in History & Notes as I know some of you were interested in - You can now Export to PDF or Excel from this screen and you'll find there are filter options to help you zone into the items you're most interested in looking at. 

  4. Insert a Notes section on the Bills You Need To Pay screen.
    For example, I can enter a due date, planned date etc .. but a section for Notes that can include a little reminder for example "confirm A123456 has been delivered"

  7. Add Notes reference for Statement of Cash Flows for totals.
    When preparing financial statements it is not possible to add a Notes reference for total lines. This is extremely frustrating as we normally have a note reconciling the net operating cash flows to the net operating profit. This requires PDF correction after exporting from Xero.

    Please add functionality to add a Notes reference for total lines in financial statements.

    You can only create credit notes to Invoices or Bills if these aren't marked as paid on Xero, or by creating them as new items from contacts or using upload via Hubdoc.

    I think it would be beneficial to allow the creation of credit notes from bills or invoices that are already paid. Very often, there is a requirement for a credit note to be created when the bill/invoice is already paid. Adding the feature to allow creating credit notes based on the information already recorded on paid bills/invoices would save a lot of time in dealing with creating…

    Hi Wojciech, if an invoice or bill has already been paid there is no amount left outstanding for the invoice. It sounds like you'd like the ability to easily copy the detail of an invoice to a credit note? I've slightly updated the title of your idea here, for this. 

    If this doesn't quite reflect it'd be great to get more detail of scenarios you'd in which your business receives a credit note for a completely paid invoice or bill. 

  10. It would be really helpful to be able to add a note/comment next to contact email addresses. Such as "Use if sending a remittance", "Only use for purchase orders" or "Business owner - only email if urgent". These comments could sit under or beside the email address in the contact's edit section so that it doesn't crowd the side bar of information. That way we don't annoy the customer by sending some emails to the wrong account and we also don't need to keep sticky notes for such specific customer details for each of our many clients.

  11. I would like to be able to see the "Contact Details" as a little box on the left side of the Customer Activity Page. See my example attached.

    I use the 'contact details: notes' section to add notes about some of our jobs, because the History/Notes section is useless. I would like to see the ability to move the customer tabs around and display what we want to see on the activity page.

    I can certainly see how having those specific notes visible right alongside the transaction feed would improve efficiency and make sure key information isn't missed.


    While this isn't in our immediate plans to make changes in this area, this idea is open for support from other community members, and we'll keep a close eye on the interest here.

  12. New Invoicing My issue is that when an Invoice has been amended after it has been sent. I have found that currently the tick is still in the box as Sent . I think it should not be ticked until the amended invoice has been emailed again. I sent it twice to a customer Also The History and Notes on that Invoice Show it was updated but not emailed straight after I edited it. Anyone else having issues with this?? Maybe I should log a support call for it. If so let me know

    Thanks for your idea and feedback, Maria. I'm just checking in with the team on the history for the send in the second part of your post here.

    In terms of the sent box being ticked. This is automatically ticked when the invoice is initially sent and does not change when an invoice is subsequently edited. Appreciate this might be something that would help your processes and I've slightly amended the title of the idea for this.

    While we don't have any plans for this right now, we'll begin to get a sense of the interest in this, here.

We sell software from various vendors and many have rules relating to how their products are sold e.g. "Must include min of one license of X before customer can order any licenses of "Y" OR "Software Maintenance should be ordered with the licenses, otherwise it is ordered as a "Maintenance Upgrade" (with different pricing), and many other examples.

    Updating these each time a new price list is issued must be done manually as Notes cannot be imported or exported making it very tedious.

  14. Attach Notes to the month column.
    I produce monthly P&L custom reports and add explanatory notes for large variations etc., when I add a new month column, the notes are stuck to the column number rather than the month, eg. I add January, but the variation notes I entered for December are now on the January column and I have to unattach them then reattach them to the correct column.

    Hi everyone, we want to share that we've released a change to history for each time an invoice is sent.

    Invoice history will now show the primary recipient email whenever an invoice is sent. This includes the initial and any subsequent send of an invoice.

    We appreciate this has been a pain point for everyone that's joined in the idea here and hope this visibility improves your experience in invoicing.

    We'd like to confirm how this works;

    • This record is only applicable from here on in, there are no updates to any historical entries for sending.
    • History will show the email of the initial recipient entered in the 'To' field any emails that you include as a CC or BCC option will not be shown.

  16. The existing Customer Invoice Report has a "Paid" column. This column shows the payments allocated to an invoice. This column excludes any credits allocated to the invoice.

    The new Receivable Invoice Summary report has a "Payments/Credits" column. This column shows the combined amount of payments AND credits allocated to an invoice.

    Hi everyone, understand the difference between a description only line and what's being asked for in the idea here. 

    This isn't something we have planned at present. 

    We do want to highlight the existing option for anyone interested that could benefit from the option mentioned earlier in the conversation (thanks, Paco) 

    Currently, it is possible to 'description' only lines to an invoice (with no Qty or Price) where you can enter up to 4000 characters worth of detail that could help you signal a note within an invoice to your customer. 

    We will continue to assess ideas in the forum here and let you know if there are any changes surrounding this to share. 

  18. Currently notes need to be updated manually on the financial statements (as far as I am aware). New accounts need to be added to the respective notes otherwise the figure in the notes will not match the figures in the financial statements.
    I feel that this is inviting error as inevitably there will be times where this process is overlooked.

    it would significantly simplify the process if Xero recognises where a note is connected to a financial statement line item, and then automatically fills in the notes with the same accounts grouped in the financials.

    Is there a way to log in and see the latest customer activity notes per date?
    We are a retail shop, & have many customers in & out.

  20. The ability to search bills and filter specifically for a credit notes would be helpful.
    Also, if a credit note has been used the total is $0 - it would be helpful if the total was still shown as paid.
